Logs for Vulcan64 

I attempted this one as I traveled from the US in the hopes of finding cooler weather. Due to the amount of snow I could not find it. I'll be back. 

Mission update: After my previous attempt ended in failure, I was able to convince the Vulcan Science Council to let me make another attempt. My first try had also drawn the attention of the armed forces. Stealth was a must. So I gathered a few of the required items, flip flops and a snorkel( more research on this item is needed), and boarded my shuttlecraft. I was able to land 1.8 Km away. Donning the flip flops and gathering my gear I proceeded out into the frigid temps. My tricorder was giving me some incorrect readings, therefore I decided to count my steps to GZ. 6298 steps was all it took. It was a good thing I started out early since it took all day to reach my destination. GZ seemed to be uphill no matter which way I turned. What a strange phenomenon! After doing what was necessary at GZ I headed back to my shuttlecraft. This time it took only 15 steps. It was fortunate for me as the military had tracked my craft to its landing site. Time to head out and report my mission success. Science officer out. 

Before this journal begins I’m going to apologize for the cut and paste that will happen. Details will be added to each log as I remember them.
The journey began as a text message from Clubmud! asking if I could grab some vacation time and join them ( Boreal Walker and Yellowdogs) in the Atlanta area. As I looked over the bookmark list I grew excited for the opportunity to visit 5 states – Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Fun times were ahead of us for sure.
We had a number of caches on our list which included traditionals, multis, virtuals, earthcaches, letterboxes, whereigos, webcams, events and unknowns. Some of these required special equipment that had to be rented. At times we had to improvise. The number of caches found varied each day but we enjoyed the hunt whether it was found or not. If possible we applied our special stamp to the log which had a portion of our cache names combined, YellowVulcanMudWalker. For the virtuals and earthcaches someone in our group (Boreal Walker, Clubmud!, Vulcan64 and Yellowdogs) will send the answers/pictures as necessary.

During this trip I was able to make some new records and add to some current ones. I appreciate all the work involved in making this trail. I enjoyed the whole day. Beta 59 and I flew into Las Vegas on Tues. afternoon to start our adventure. We headed out to Barstow, Ca. as this would be our starting point to begin the Route 66 caching trail. Our goal we set for ourselves was to try to get all the trail done in one day. This was my first trip to the area. Certainly different than South Dakota. Warmer and drier. During this trip I was able to make some new records and add to some current ones. I appreciate all the work involved in making this trail. I enjoyed the whole day.
