Logs for Wheels00

Out and about with Sgauss and IrishCubsFan all the way from the Windy City. We took off for a 4 day jaunt and headed west to the sprawling metropolis of Colby, KS.

Today is Day #2 of the adventure. Looking at a high icon day, some fun chatter with friends and new faces and checking out the town of Colby.

We started with the event and maze, competed the geoart with Team Mingidiots, headed to Colorado to get that state foe me, down to Mt Sunflower foe more icons and high point before heading back into Colby for more gadget caches and the Community Event.

Thanks to everyone who placed and is maintaining the caches we found today.

Wow, finally! I’ve had this on the radar for so long but finally but the bullet to make the trip. Tftc and adventure.

Out from Chicago with sgauss for an epic 12 states over 5 days where we targeted the oldest cache, at least 1 earthcache, a minimum of 4 icons, and hopefully at least 5 total caches in every state we visited. We had a solid itinerary for the entire trip but let the events of each day dictate where we landed each night. All told, after starting in Rhode Island, we visited Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, D.C. and Maryland.

Day #4 started in Delaware as we traveled to Virginia, DC and finished this evening in Maryland. A nice quick find after a short hike to GZ which seems rare for oldies like this. We decided to grab one more in the park area since we paid for entry anyway.

Thanks to everyone who placed and maintains all the caches that we have had the joy to hunt on our trip. Any caches that need information and/or pictures will get said info submitted after I return from my long trip unless sgauss posts the info needed prior to that. TFTC

Headed down the Geowoodstock with Twits (Team Wheels00, IrishCubsFan, Topher_LV and sgauss). We had a pretty lofty PQ list of oldies, DT fillers, geoart, high favorites, virtuals and icons. Down for 4 days of caching with good friends, what could be better. We have had great conversations with a lot of cachers from home and abroad. Thanks to everyone who placed and maintains all the caches we had the honor to find on our trip and a special thanks to everyone involved putting together GW once again.

For any cache that requires information to be sent, one of us, at minimum, will send for the group sometime after we return to Chicago. Tftc

I was scheduled to attend the Rotary International Conference in Atlanta for several days. Sgauss and I headed down from Chicago a couple days early to target the 2000's and adding several states. Starting at the airport, we headed to Bama for the state then up to Lake Lanier area for caching by jet ski before calling it a day. Day 2 started with a trip to South Carolina, grabbing a couple challenges back in Ga before heading back to finish up at Stone Mountain. Lots of miles and some excellent conversation time. Thanks for all the outstanding maintaining of the oldies and other caches we found. Tftc

I plan on being there with sgauss this Friday (6/9) late afternoon if anyone is chartering out to the island. Presently, I think we will be kayaking out but if there was a boat already chartered.......Earliest arrival would be 3 pm. Send me a PM

It was a weird happenstance getting a chance to meet the CO at GZ, great meeting you and hopefully we'll cross paths again. TFTC

DinaWorks, Kerrillb, Chargeman and I embarked on an epic 7 State Challenge where we needed to get at least two caches in each state. We chose to get two Non-Traditional caches as well as targeting other interesting types of caches (i.e. webcams, earthcaches and challenges). Oh, did I mention we had to do it in one calendar day?

Thoroughly enjoyed this mini challenge trail. No problem on the finds. Pic of my calendar uploaded. TFTC

As it turns out, we found 36 total mystery/puzzle caches in the last two days. Presently, over 10% of my caches are mystery caches and with over 8100 finds, I believe that'll meet the requirements. TFTC
