Logs for anja&kris

05-Apr-20
We were lucky to be able to visit NZ for almost 5 weeks before the Covid number nineteen struck. A beautiful country with warm and friendly people living here.
We just could not leave this one out of our logs, as it was the last cache we did here.
Stay Safe and thanks for bringing us here with your cache.

Feels kind of fresh to log on new sheet!

A lot of people pass this place to and from the park.
A young girl obviously waiting for someone to meet her here also kept us waiting for a while.
Then we switched to the distract and retrieve tactics with success.

It took us quite some time to find it and we wonder if the worm has seen what we were doing .
Logbook is full!

It would have been nicer if we had been able to enter the botanic garden as well.
Just now that we are stuck here we don't get to see this beautifull part of the city ️.

Yesterday we retrieved all the necessary information and today we managed to reach GZ and do the log.
Favo well earned!

Already some years now we try to find street art allong our way.
So this one is an excellent opportunity!
Thanks for bringing us here.

03-Apr-20
We had seen this plaque before during one of our previous walks in this part of the park.
Some patience was required to access GZ. Afterwards a nice sunny pause on one of the benches nearby the croquet field.
Favo.

02-Apr-20
Looks like there is a small delay on the upload of the images, so no funny faces on the foto.
But we managed, so thanks for bringing us here.
Favo well earned.

01-Apr-20
We made sure to also have a good look facing East.
Hopefully the restauration can start soon.

Our daily walk from the motel to the supermarket.
A small detour for a nice easy pick-up.

A beautiful sunny day in 'spooky' Christchurch.

Taking in mind the capabilities of ducks nowadays, it took us a few minutes to find the right spot. But there it was. TFTC

This would probably be a lot harder to get on a 'normal' day in a 'normal' world!

They should really clean this place up and make the paved pattern vissable again!
Coords for GZ spot on.

It's so sad we don't get to see the tram passing!
We tried to follow the track but were stopped by the closed doors.
Small detour around the block and of you go.

At risk of being struck by falling chestnut! A true logging adventure.

People in Christchurch sure have a lot of green area's available to relax and come out of their home. We had to wait just a little bit for the police to pass by. They will have to find their own hideaways

Making a choice between 2000 steps of stairs or the Hooker valley track...
Hmmmm, let's take the track. Looking back at the weather conditions, good choice.
What a great set of caches, so well maintained!
Thanks for bringing us here.
Favo for the series along this track.

Coming back from the glacier lake at the other side the weather took a turn into heavy rain and heavy gusts of wind. But we decided to try and reach this one anyway.
Stranded at approximately 10 meters from GZ. Heavy rain so very slippery, better safe than sorry.
Just a bit far from home (18000 km), to come again but no worries.

Nice to be able to enjoy such scenery and at the same time look for a cache.
Suggestion for the name: Ooooh!
TB:out

Now we understand why Peter wanted to lookout from this spot.

We first did a small walk around town and also discovered the youth hostel.
Then the crosswords hint and quick log.

20-Mar-20
Campervan on the nearby Freedom campground and a nice evening beach walk.

18-Mar-20
It actually felt kind of chilly to be closer to the South Pole!

It felt good being closer to the equator again!

Still a long way to go either way!
But glad we made it to this point.
Tnx for bringing us here.

17-Mar-20
Picked it up coming back from Nugget point.
Again no luck with the penguins.

Another victim of the muggles?
Some people don't like these types of places being 'fouled' with something like a cache or just consider it as a souvenir.
But still thanks to the CO for bringing us here!

It's a pitty that this one is not "guarded" by a penguin.
Then we would at least have seen one

The benefit of being with 2 persons is being able to create some distraction for surrounding spectators.
Afterwards a short walk down to the falls. Worth the effort!

Easy to find but the cap of the tube was missing!
Logsheet still dry though.

The coords led us to the same type of GZ as the one lower down the track.
But no success.

16-Mar-20
People looking for fortune come to weird places.
So do cachers
Tnx for bringing us here!
And for those who will follow. Our campervan made it up here, no problem at all.

It would have been nice to also have a go on the vertical part of the ascent.
But the gear was left at home so the side slope was a welcome 'plan B'.

Answer sent to CO + FAVO for the beautiful place.

15-Mar-20
General store "On the spot" nearby and so were we, on the spot.
We met a whole city of sand flies but managed to log anyway.

On our arrival yesterday the only concern was food and fuel.
Today, after a perfect nights rest, we stopped on our way to Jackson Bay.
Next stop Cray Pot!

Being supervised by a very kind 'fisherie inspector' not only the cray fish were legally brought to shore but also our log was granted approval
Sandflies and fish and chips in Cray Pot. What does one need more?

13-Mar-20
These pancakes,...
Do they serve them with syrup or brown sugar?

Getting the box out, smooooth...
Logging, check.
Putting the box back, wait, wait, wait some more, ..., check.
Busy, busy, busy.

Not a pinguin muggle in sight so quick find and log.
Thanks for bringing us here!

11-Mar-20
Coming back from Bark Bay we could pick-up this one without any problems.
The PQ did not give many results in this part of our journey so a good thing that this one popped-up.
On to a good nights rest with Old Mac Donald!
