Our second cache on the trail.

We're going to plan a day to visit Walls and Hernando to finish up the rest of this trail and then get our photo with Hernando DeSoto!

I finally got around to stopping here. Interesting history in this building.

Awesome! GC20, baby!

Abiectio and I flew to Atlanta from Memphis on the 6am flight today. For me, the flight was 4 minutes longer than my drive to the airport.

My lovely wife, Tiger130, picked us up at a big, metal Penguin outside baggage claim at ATL and we proceeded to wind our way around the airport until we found One Way to get to the Right Way. We were all mightily impressed with her navigational abilities in such a high-pressure area.

With our Virtual Tour of the airport completed, we headed northward where we slayed a dragon in the belly of the beast, were undone by the 10 state challenge, found an Alter-Nativ and stacked some stones with cellulose.

All that was just the warm-up for the main event. Oh, yeah. We were headed to Lake Sidney Lanier to hunt some caches from the beginning of time. You know the ones I'm talking about.

We rented a pontoon boat from Port Royal Rental Boats and hit the water. WWWUSA - Lake Lanier was our first target and was found in great condition. We followed it with the venerable GC20 (aka Marooned), then came June 18, Beside the Road, the two Yellow Pole caches, Deer Island South, King Tree Island (something about that island made Bruce's 62 flakey), I Love This Side Of The Lake as Well and Danger at Lake Lanier.

I have to tell you that we could not find stage one of Danger at Lake Lanier. I was prepared with my scuba mask, but the water was only about 18 inches deep there today. After a good deal of fruitless searching, I suggested that we just search the land nearby using the description on the cache page. Tiger130 made the find and preserved our Lake Lanier Streak!

We rounded out our time on the lake with The Purple People Eater, Chattahoochee 9 and Cache 22 before driving over to the classic Lake Lanier cache and rounding out the day with A Bird in the hand that Chirps...

Thanks to all the cache hiders who provided quality caches for us to hunt today.

Cache number 27? No way! That is just too cool. This is by far the oldest cache I have found. Super placement of this thing. The folks with the flowers & fruit don't even bat an eye when you come walking through to look for the cache. Smile

Took the cool coaster. Left a Geocoin that is meant to travel like a Travel Bug.
