it would be a pleasure to return the help I was given from dear egghammer with this webcam cache during our stay in NZ and so I too want to offer to those who plan to visit this webcam cache to assist and take the webcam photo for you. just give me a day of notice in advance please, as I am not online round the clock. Smile

oh, how sweet! I just loved this one! we might have missed it on our way through the area. many thanks for showing it to us! Smile

we spent wonderful 2 hours on this amazing place and thank you dearly for leading us here! we were also a bit sentimental, because our 2-minths-trip through new zealand comes slowly to it's end Sad - we wished, we could stay another 2 months! really really liked it here...

on our way from coromandel peninsula back to auckland this was our very last geocache in new zealand - connected with it: grief. about our having to leave soon (crazy, you might think, as hawaii was waiting for us as our next destination on our trip around the world - but we really learned to love this gem of a country). many thanks for this one and for all the nice geocaches that lead us to wonderful places we wouldn't have found without. we appreciated those the most of all.

23-Jan-15
we spent such a nice time on coromandel peninsula, though a bit sad too, as those were the last days of our 2-months-stay in new zealand. we love earth caches, as during our trip they showed us so many interesting places. for this one we found the questions really tricky. hope we did well with our answers though. many thanks for the lesson here!

22-Jan-15
dear owner, can you please check - your final coords show to another cache (a traditional) of your pony express series. obviously a mistake? thank you!

this was a quick find, after being a bit confused about the wrong final-WP at #37, which showed us exactly to #38. but I guess, this is corrected meanwhile? thank you for the blue one Smile

21-Jan-15
we obviously had a mistake in our calculations (the fact that many before us reported the same, was a consolation Big Grin. then we found it difficult to find out how to get there without stepping on private ground. on the way to the (wrong) final coords we stumbled over something that we found would fit on the hint, but ignored it. shortly later we had to realize, that our coords showed into a private garden - and gave the mentioned object a chance on our way back - BINGO Big Grin thank you!

the climb was pretty steep - obviously I wore the wrong shoes for this project - yet a quick find. thank you.

20-Jan-15
what a beautiful spot up here - really worth to walk up! the only think we'd wish for is to substitute the traditional by an earth cache - it's a perfect place for one. want to consider it, dear owner? Smile

19-Jan-15
what drew us up here? though we don't like traditionals? the promised magnificent view. and it felt peaceful up here indeed. though I am really not a friend of those places, and especially I don't like the thought of hiding caches in them. but this one is special in a way. thank you for showing us. and may they all rest in peace ever after.

wow, what a HUGE hole! just impressing. the first goldmine I've ever seen. so many thanks for leading us up here, it was really interesting to read all those facts.

18-Jan-15
sorry that our late log caused a missed-note of the trackable we removed of this cache - we just have too seldom internet-access here, during our trip atound the world. we too of course did not find WP3 but still managed to find the cache by kind of encircling it. and the hint helped too. we had to step through very high grass and honestly didn't really like the chosen hide-out. neither did we like the millions of sheep-leftovers we had to hop over. the log was completely wet, so honestly this was not one of our favourite caches. thank you anyway.

17-Jan-15
after visiting the close-by earth cache this one really made us smile. many thanks - we really liked it!

solved the riddle during a short break while hiking through the park (my sweetheart is really good at sudoku, I pay him my respect) - then decided to walk up to the waterfall before starting our search. suddenly it started pouring, we were pretty soaked when returning from the forest. drying up at the cafe, having dinner, studying the map, studying the logs - well, no, this sounds as no fun in dry weather, we couldn't expect it to be any nicer on such a rainy evening. and we aren't big fans of bush bashing anyway. sad, would have been nice to visit your cache, as after several months it certainly feels a bit lonesome meanwhile.

my smart sweetie solved this in an instant, grabbed me and off we went in the middle of the night. sadly without success. not that the hint could have been any helpful to us strangers of this country, clueless about your politicians and their (obvious) scandals. but an idea it still gave us. well, we returned home, asked our host about this honored man, he too had no idea. neither did his friend, who just visited. yet giving up is not entirely our thing, so we came back next day in bright daylight. not that light helped us, as this is more a 'grab me, feel me' hideout (those are not my favourites). neither do I like to cache on my knees, especially in smelly areas like this one - poisoned with moscitos. well, now at least I know, that your honored friend must have slightly to do something with pipes. wild guess: his second job is a plumber? many thanks, you kept us busy...

16-Jan-15
oops, we completely oversaw that parking close to the final is not permitted. and why could this happen? because the barrier was broken, so we could drive through undisturbed. soon enough, while we were still parking, rereading the listing, a security came by and asked us to leave. next minute he asked 'how long will you need here?' - 'oh, just a minute' -'ok, guys, I'll let you stay then' - and gave us an exit ticket. we waited until he went around the corner, then quickly grabbed the cache and out we were again. though we still felt watched from above - obviously Wink - but as you mention: those guys know all about the cache. many thanks!

after solving this riddle, we headed out to find the cache - it was dark already and we only whispered and it felt like a real adventure Smile with the help of our torch we managed to land a success - yet all the moscitos out there and the disgusting smell let us doubt it was an ENJOYABLE success Smile - thanks anyway!

wow, this was really teamwork at it's best - the offer of taking a screenshot of us at the beach (+30 degrees) come from icy canada (-30 degrees) and we felt guilty indeed, making the mouth of dear egghammer and his friends water just by the look of all the surfers behind us. right after our waving session we jumped into the sea and the water temperature was great - after 2 months of waiting for that (even kiwis only went swimming with wetsuits - and this says it all, as those folks really are tough, we can tell)

many many thanks to you, guys - you were gorgeous (also having already uploaded the pictures for us) and we'd gladly help you with a screenshot as well, as soon as we've returned home from our trip around the world. hopefully you don't pay us back choosing similar 'mean' webcams with amazing beaches behind. Smile

here comes a picture of how the water looked behind the webcam - we just loved it!

14-Jan-15
we enjoyed our hike a lot and thank you so much for leading us to this beautiful and interesting spot! we certainly wouldn't have found it without you.

a beautiful hike through the forest indeed and we really liked it - on a summerday that made us grateful for the coolness in the woods. the cache itself is dry, but the logbook is wet. we found no trackables in here. sad, how many were muggled here - so please don't hide any further in this one. thank you!

we are very sure that we would never have found this amazing place without your eath cache and want to say a thousand thanks. how peaceful and wonderful. the colour of the water is undescribable. we were almost the only ones out here and enjoyed our walk a lot. muchos gracias!

what an interesting story - amazing how people travelled in those days. and look how comfortable we can cross this gorge today, thanks to the hard work of all those men, who have long gone. we sat here and gratefully appreciated all their effort.

13-Jan-15
I visited this spot in the last light of the day, with sfabrikg, enjoying the view, looking over to the lake and the volcano, having sympathy with all those poor people who lived down there below our feet, when this volcano erupted so violently. what a tragic story... many thanks to the owner who lead us here. we LOVE earth caches and they taught us so much already during our trip around the world. they are much better than school books.

12-Jan-15
we solved this riddle quickly in the car while driving by and then it was just a short search to find the cache. I love riddles like that - which just need a bit of phantasy instead of google (those riddles are rarely to find, sadly) - many thanks to the owner!

we too (sfabrikg and me) weren't eager to enter the hot pool (considering what lives in here Wink - though many people were bathing in there. but it was nice to come here anyway. many thanks!

11-Jan-15
during our 2-months- trip through new zealand sfabrikg and me also visited rotorua and stayed for several days. we just loved this place - bubbly and steaming as it is. and got used to the smell pretty quickly. it was a real difficult task to count all those pools out here (some are hidden behind fences and lots of plants) - but we tried to do our best. many thanks for leading us out here.

in nicest sunny weather we solved this riddle (my sweetie sfabrikg LOVES sudokus and misses his daily sudoku while we are on our trip around the world, so he was really grateful to stumble over this one) - and went immediately to visit your cache. many thanks!

10-Jan-15
on this hot summerday it was wonderful cool in the forest, so we enjoyed our walk and liked the view down to the crater lakes a lot. sfabrikg and me took many pictures today and that's why the walk took us quite a while Smile

many thanks for putting up this earth cache - we certainly wouldn't have found and visited this place without you!

09-Jan-15
already when coming down the ohope road we were impressed from this huge rock - from above it looks even bigger... though we were hungry and looking for a restaurant, we (sfabrikg and me) took the time to search for the asked information. many thanks, dear owner, for explaining all this!

08-Jan-15
what a darkgreen colour! we enjoyed being here - and thank you a lot for all the information we were delivered while working for this earth cache. that's why we just love earth caches - we leave so educated Smile

07-Jan-15
now, those are earth caches, that we really admire: informative and interesting - combined with a little hiking. and in a beautiful city like napier it's double fun indeed. we left much wiser than we arrived. thank you so much!

06-Jan-15
this hill was recommended to us from locals - and when we saw, that there's even an earth cache up here we knew it will be worth a visit (earth caches always are). it was less green than expected, but pretty dry looking landscape - yet we liked the view. and we specifically liked the new zealand map - made of mosaic - on the summit. many thanks for putting up this informative cache up here. we appreciated it and enjoyed the hot summerday.

05-Jan-15
we solved this riddle fairly quickly, but for the search itself we would have been grateful having a hint (if only delivered with the geochecker). the grass was incredibly high out here and it wasn't easy indeed to find this cache - but eventually we succeeded. thank you.

wow, this one is really not found often... the puzzle was solved in an instant, the cache itself honestly a nuisance: all wet inside. we took much time to dry everything up and entirely clean it, so the next finder finds it less disgusting. please, dear owner, pay your cache a visit yourself from time to time. we got so tired of all the badly maintained caches throughout new zealand during our trip, most just weren't a pleasure to visit.

as all the many that came before us we had to realize: this cache has definitely been muggled. so to motivate cachers to still solve this puzzle cache in the future, we put out a substitute cache today until the owner has time to come and replace it. it is a micro - not magnetic (we didn't have a better container with us), but hidden at a hideout that would normally let expect a magnetic cache. hope this is ok for the owner (who better is grateful for that kind gesture of us Smile as he seems too superbusy to maintain his caches, which we always find a sad thing ("quality before quantity, PLEASE, guys - just the same as it should be the case with the matter that all of you are most interested in Wink

04-Jan-15
my sweetie, sfabrikg, just LOVES sudokus (and misses his daily sudoku during our trip around the world) - so this puzzle cache came in handy for him and he - as usually - solved it in an instant. we found the final coords to be about 5 metres off, guarded by a stone, embraced from roots, as if the tree won't let go of the cache. funny sight. OUT: TB "the travel ingot" - thank you!

03-Jan-15
the log has been full for more than 2 years now - PLEASE come and change it. thank you!

saturday night in wellington - everybody out to have a drink and dance. we too - but still we took the time to solve a puzzle cache in the middle of the night in the middle of the city. and went immediately to go and search for it. which we didn't find too difficult either. thank you!

02-Jan-15
one evening during our world trip we also solved this riddle (not that we were ever bored here in nz!) Smile and shortly before noon we were gladly the only ones around here. many thanks - we just love puzzle caches!

01-Jan-15
many thanks that you showed us this - obviously newly built - place. I doubt, we would have found it without you. and we learned interesting things about the surrounding (not only about platforms) - just great! that's why we love earth caches - and the fact that the DOC has built up so many sign posts just for us, which we highly appreciate. we liked the view too. sadly no whales seen though. great to end our year with an earth cache and begin the new one with another one.

31-Dec-14
we just loved that spot (sfabrikg and me) - and were really grateful, that your earth cache has led us here (we doubt we would have found it without you) - really really interesting, not only geologically but also historically. we were impressed to hear about the battle that has taken place here. and sad too. thank you for this earth cache - it was really difficult to decide which formation we liked most, and we took many many pictures here.

30-Dec-14
we liked the riddle but then had to search for a long time, without success. we gave up, went home, read the logs, came back the next day, looked around the corner from where our coords showed - and bingo: quick find then. strange... anyway: thanks!

29-Dec-14
We strongly assume, this one has been muggled. Found the tube, yet it is empty. Sad No found for almost 3 months seems to be a further proof. We'd appreciate, could you check, dear owner. Thank you!

thank you for sharing this interesting story with us! we would certainly have missed this bell without your multi. sad, that three trackables have been muggled from this container this year. I suggest nobody should put any more trackables in here. thanks for the nice riddle.

28-Dec-14
it honestly felt a bit awkward as we couldn't be sure whether all those neighbours are informed and it's diffifult to live "stealth mode" out here. well, you can always pretend your car broke down and open the lid while the second one quickly creeps out of the car and logs. but then again, the kiwis being helpful as they are, that would in the contrary make them run over to us in an instant Smile

last time I visited this place, about 20 years ago, my camera quit working here, which was so disappointing! so now I came back (with sfabrikg) to take all those pictures anew, sadly it was a cloudy day this time - and there were a bit too many people for my taste. I found it difficult to get pics without anybody else in it. yet thanks for putting up this earth cache for us. my favourite was the largest one, but I wasn't tall enough to climb it Smile

27-Dec-14
during our stay in dunedin we solved this riddle and went out one morning to search for the final. wow, you'd rather have to be blind not to find this superhuge container Wink - the landscape behind is so beautiful! I lost my much loved hat somewhere out there, came back next day to search for it, but sadly it was gone. thank you for the riddle!

good that we didn't give up when the sand ended and the itchy grass began. still barefoot we soon (200 metres further) found the nice clean big container and were glad we had not assumed the trap was the hideout. ouchhh! Smile the bay really deserves it's name, mammamia! thank you for this cache!

26-Dec-14
solved the riddle tonight and a morning walk took us to the final. long search as the hint is totally misleading. cache (just a ziplock-plasticbag, we didn't like that) can NOT be reached from the pathside, but lies about 2 metres further below, at the root of a larger plant. lots of plastic rubbish around Sad log is wet. we hid the cache with a bunch of wooden sticks, so just watch out for those, whoever comes after us. all the best!
