(etrexer) Quick find after visiting the wildlife park today. Finding a cache was far better than visiting this rundown wildlife park. Far better off looking at native animals in their natural habitat but ok for the tourists I suppose . Thanks colliflowers

(etrexer)Found the only fallen log in the area after a bit of a search and there was the cache.Didnt think i was going to find it without the coordinates but thought i would give it a go anyway.I did find a platypus albeit being a rock carving at the start of the track. (etrexer)located today after rainy weather, which made this a challenging task to get up the slippery bank. Had to put the walking boots into 4wd and low range to tackle this one.Am a bit concerned about how fragile this area is with all the loose shale sliding down to the bottom of the bank. After a decent storm i reckon the cache could be buried from landslip. But still enjoyed the challenge. Thanks MasterOfTheHunt

13-Apr-13
(etrexer)Found this cache after a bit of a search in the rain today.Fairly tricky with good cammo and coords out by 12 metres. Also picked up the the geocaching australia movable cache secret frog which was sitting about 20 metres from here. Thanks Leblet for another cache in this great park

(etrexer)Yay my first ,First to find but only just,2ys tassies were on the hunt also.Great to finally meet up with a great couple of cachers. GZ did have us going around the bend at times with both teams scrambling around on the very steep hillside.Luck was with me today as we had both walked past GZ a couple of times, It was that close between us i think it should be been a joint first to find. Thanks Leblet a great first hide

17-Mar-13

24-Feb-13
(etrexer) Climbed to the summit today in the rain,Love walking in the bush on days like this.No view had today but have been up here before. The mist coming up from the valley below creates a magical feel even had a bit of thunder over head. The wind was howling in a tree or something over the side of the cliff which gave it an eerie feeling sitting in the rain while signing the log.Loved it thanks Team Tiges

16-Feb-13
(etrexer)Thought i would have a look for this cache after doing some others in the area. The start of the track was found at the bottom of the washout a bit overgrown but the rest of the track was well maintained. The cache took a bit of finding because it was covered over very thickly with bark and leaves seeing that it hasnt been found for quite sometime. Was signing the log when two bushwalkers sprung me we got talking about geocaching as they had read about it,they checked out my gps and after walking back out to my car together where we talked somemore i think they were off to buy one.The cache was still in good order the logbook was slightly damp. Thanks for the hunt energizer61

08-Feb-13
(etrexer)Drove to this cache today teaching a learner driver how to drive offroad in a bit of tight and rough stuff.Great to see this track has been opened up again so you can get down to the river and the old tram track. Will be back soon to grab the other caches along the track and explore some of the old adits in the area.

02-Feb-13
(etrexer)Found this one before setting off to find some hungry caterpillars.I camped here about 30 years ago great to see nothing much has changed, the only difference being the barbecue i think.Next time i come back will be with my camper trailer and fishing rod. Thanks Tassie Trekkers

(etrexer)A great walk had today visiting the falls. At the lower falls with low water i was able to walk on the flat bedrock all the way to where the water falls into the lake. Will be back in winter to check it out when the creek is in full flow i reckon it will be spectacular. Also i met the land owner of the first nine hundred metres of the track today who i visited before setting off.He was only too glad to let me go after telling me on the track condition. Now off to log the pathtag i found. Thanks forthferalz

(etrexer)Great series on a great walk to the falls. The lower falls are terrific, walked on the flat bedrock all the way to where the creek falls into the lake. Will have to come back in the winter when there is a bit more water coming down the creek to see them in all their glory.I sat down for a while and watched some boaters and jet skiers clowning around on the lake then i felt something cold and slimmy on my neck, you guessed it picked up a leech, hope he enjoyed the beers i had last night. Thanks chocolate ali for showing me another area i have not visited before

(etrexer) Thanks again

(etrexer) Thanks again.Just to let you know the log book in this one is wet and falling apart .Tried to dry it out in the sun a bit but didnt help much
