Logs for charvolant

09-Oct-15
A great view of the Butmaroo range . I still can't quite figure out which one is Neds Tent though

05-Oct-15
Tried before with the fire brigade and none of us were looking in the right place. This time, spotted it almost instantly. It was missing a writing implement so I've added a pencil.

04-Oct-15
Nice walk for the dogs

28-Jan-14
Bungendore RFD was here

19-Jan-14
At last. I've looked for this a couple of times and must have been centimetres away.

12-Apr-13
Nice trial of my new gps

19-Jan-13
Looked for it before and finally looked in the right place.

19-May-11
Found it at a perfect sunset. Was observed by a big old-man kangaroo who was quite curious about my goings on. The local traffic access from the east on Anthill st is still there.

01-May-11
It took quite a bit of hunting but I got there in the end.

The people's berries are deepest red.
And all the fog, near does my head.

26-Apr-11
Nice hiding spot. We arrived just at the same time as the rain, which didn't thrill Gemma-dog.

23-Apr-11
I found the sort of ziploc bag that often gets used to protect logs about 5m from the bridge. Empty.

21-Apr-11
Oh, found it too.

This one is just a few hundred metres from our house. But we've only got around to visiting it today. We found the notepad in the tree.

Having looked at the map, we went around the North side of the creek before trusting the GPS.

A nice spot. We met someone in his back garden and he warned us that snakes were still active.

11-Apr-11
The Protective Service guys turned up while we were going there, so we had a chat with them about what we were doing. They're now a little more enlightened about the strange people turning up in that corner of the woods.

They're building what looks to be a bypass around Sparrow's Corner (a nasty crest on the King's Highway). There is a lot of earthmoving machinery around at the moment. Our original route was blocked and we edged around the North edge of the forest with satisfactory results.

Lovely view. We were going to drop Stimpy off but it was a bit damp for an international cat of mystery.

08-Apr-11
Great container. But don't tell the leaguies. I should have looked about a bit more for the path.

19-Mar-11
Lots of orb spider webs around at the moment.

02-Oct-10
My daughter and I took a nice walk up from Fearinside Way. It started raining within 500m of the cache, which meant that the view towards Bungendore was laced with rain. Very beautiful.

I tried using the iPhone app to navigate to this cache. Not a particularly happy experience. It seemed to get stuck when we lost mobile contact to the point that I had to completely turn the phone off and on again. It then insisted for the last 400m that we were always in the same spot. Luckily, I'd brought my old, steam-powered EtrexH as a backup and we used that to hunt down the cache.

15-Feb-09
Great fun watching the clouds sweeping across the lake bed.

20-Dec-08
Nice walk around. The rubbish is pretty much confined to being near the top entrance to the reserve. It's not a good look at the start, though.

We've added a new notebook to the cache.

06-Dec-08
Our first geocache! Very good fun.
