The Island was crawling with people today, with a local Scout group also out Geocaching/ exploring. It was great having some more eyes to find this one in the thick bush.

Out for a back country geo MTB ride this morning. Lots of pushing on the over grown tracks.
Looked around for this cache for a while but came up with nothing. Will have to go back for another look at some stage.

Very cool and interesting cache. Been past this spot so many times in my pre goecaching days but have never stopped or known about the 'road'.

After having a good hunt around all the corners of the hut I had given up and headed back down the track to see if I could see the other members of my party making their way up Goat Pass Creek. About 20m from the hut I saw a small container fitting the cache description in a pile of sticks (see photo). It must have been washed down with all the recent rain up that way.
After signing the log I put the cache up high and dry under the front right corner of the hut as you stand looking at it. Sorry if this is not the spot indicated by the hint.

Just needed to climb over the logs that are out in front of the cache site and there it was tucked away safe and sound. 

Log book full, so left 1/2 an A4 piece of paper to act as a temporary log book.
