Logs for iTreasureHunt
19-Jun-21
Very easy find, interesting location, hence there is a local road (Beacon Road) which would have lead to this location years ago. This is very important navigation infrastructure and it is interesting that the aircrafts fly directly over this point as it aligns with the Perth airport runway.

TFTF, we took the grand kids on their first cache experience. The log was a bit damp, so we couldn’t sign it. Nice container.

Good find, found with iTreasureHunt2, nice spot, it wasn’t very bendy. Clever. The log is saturated, couldn’t sign it.

Hi Team AustDan and the reviewer
Sorry for the delay in replying. We have been pre-occupied.
We believed there are plenty of good hints in the Cache description.
It is a magnetic Camo. We even provide a photograph of part of the cache. It is in plain view. The idea of this cache is the most incredible camouflage masterminded by a child and enhanced by myself who likes to watch Dr Who. The concept is the opposite to Tardis (Oops another clue).
As for the spirit of the game, All caches are graded for difficulty, and this one is graded accordingly (not like so many others). Are all high graded caches not in the spirit of the game?
Are we being victimised because it is difficult. Geocaching rules (and the spirit of the game) do encourage even harder caches with a rating scale that goes even higher that this one. (I have carefully read the description for a level 5 difficulty and would be lying if we made this cache a 5).
The responses have overall been very positive. 100% of the finders have made it a favourite. There are 69 current watchers. Every finder has corroborated the legitimacy of the cache and have been personally congratulated by us and have commented that they believe the rules have not been breached. They are champions!!!
Yes the cache is still there.
We have deliberately tried to avoid making comments because we have already made so many.
Sorry, we did not realise we needed to confirm the currency of the cache after only 4 DNF's since the last find.
It doesn't seem fair that we are requested to meet a reviewer at the cache site just because four DNF's.
There are plenty other caches in WA that have not been found for longer than 10 months, and many that have more that 4 DNF's.
Have all these been reviewed on site? NO.
Happy caching

Oh Vidahoy, I am sorry you are sad.
The rules...We hide it, you seek it and log it.
We all have our different traits and every hidden cache reflects that. Every cache we have ever found has given us a different feeling. That is the nature of the sport.
Those that love it and have fun will do it, those that don't won't.
What you see as animosity may be fun to others.
The essence and spirit of this cache is this.... It is a cache in full view and not the slightest bit hidden and yet so difficult to identify.
I am glad you had the strength to express your inner feelings. You are not alone, some things make us sad as well and that is the catalyst for our imagination. iTreasureHunt2 and I do not enjoy maintaining caches so we deliberately made a cache that could not be found and will not be muggled (we hope). This way there is no maintenance and the log will not need replacing before he completes primary school, high school and University. In fact it might be his children that first need to replace the log.
Once again, I am genuinely sorry you feel sad.
We love seeing all the 75 Watchers and their logs ( including yours) because we (sadly) do not seem to get any favourite votes!!! (I wonder why)
So it would make us sad if you were to take LITL SUCKER off your watch list.

Ouch Felix, it is sad you are not going to return to read a response from your note. Just scribble and run.
(unless you are one of the 75 watchers for this log, or curiosity simply makes you a hypocrite and you return)
This is the idea of difficult caches, they are hard to find.
iTreasureHunt2 (9 y/o) asked me several times if he should increase the difficulty to 5 and we have advised him not to, but now that he has seen how easy your '4's are, maybe we need to reconsider. Also your '4's must be fairly lame if only 1 or 2 people are bothering to watch them.
Oh, thats right, iTreasureHunt2 has 75 watchers watching LIT'L SUCKER.
I think it would be very inappropriate if I was to log negative comments on 50% of your caches that I have not and never intend to do.

Well it seems there has been some shenanigans going on...
Please Note, I am iTreasureHunt. I am not the cache owner but the guardian of the cache owner iTreasureHunt2. He is a curious eight year old and is endeavouring to explore the intricate and unpredictable nature of human behaviour during his quest to have a cache that nobody can find.
Our shared observations recently are...
Firstly we both are amazed up to now that nobody has found what is so plainly visible when you walk up or down the steps.
Secondly we were amazed when someone found the cache and made little or no Hoo-Har when they found it and when contacted they made no attempt to claim the FTF prize as yet. (There is nothing wrong with this, but it seemed odd from an eight year olds perspective.)
Thirdly we were concerned when another person found it so quickly afterwards.
When one of the subesquent finders contacted us and described where and what they found, we were not surprised and we suspected the true cache had not yet been found.
iTreasureHunt2 is currently out of town, but knowing where the true cache is placed, I am able to confirm that...
NOBODY HAS FOUND THE TRUE LIT'L SUCKER YET.
iTreasureHunt2 will amend the logs when he returns from his holidays.
iTreasureHunt2 will no doubt feel guilty and probably find it necessary to apologise to the listed finders for the deception and mixed emotions they have been put through by another inconsiderate human being (even if it is not of his making)
Meanwhile that feeble cacher (whoever you may be) who placed the false cache may want to learn a few lessons from the eight year old iTreasureHunt2.
1- Alway be nice to people as they may give you presents. (Find his cache and you get a FTF present)
2- If you hide a cache, do it properly (or leave it in plain view and everyone will ignore it.)
3- Eat your beans. (is this cryptic?)
4- Alway log your DNF's
By the way, the next person to find a cache at this location (with a signed log) please muggle it as that will be the false one.
Happy Caching.

Thanks for the humourous false "Find" log from Wefoundit2.
It said and I quote:
Log Date: 7/27/2011
"Cant see what all the fuss was about, its not that hard - SUCKERS, Just kidding didn't really find it, just wanted to stuff up the DNF count I guess this is the sort of thing FRIENDS ? do to each other! (Feel free to delete this log iTreasureHunt)
After reading this log we knew Wefoundit2 couldn't have really found it because contrary to his own distorted perception of himself, Wefoundit2 is not really all that good at caching. I have spoken the iTreasureHunt2 and he will delete the false FOUND IT log very soon. iTreasureHunt2 said Wefoundit2 is a rat bag and way to mean to be his dad's friend. [:(!]
How long will it take for someone to find this cache???
Why can't anyone find a cache that is always visible when you walk up or down the stairs?
Do we need to increase the FTF prize?

This one just popped up so seeing it was so close we popped down and did the deed. Well done iTreasureHunt2 for the FTF. Please take your time placing the outer lid in place. it fits well in the correct position. Hey looker51, thanks for the hide.

Did this with iTreasureHunt2 who had a better stature to retrieve the cache. Great day and easy even under the view of some sleepy muggles sitting in their car. TFTH

On behalf of iTreasureHunt2 I am pleased to confirm the cache is still there and although it gets frequent visitors, it is feeling very ignored. Isn't it a shame that the most amazing things in life are often ignored. It is a bit like Doctor Who's Tardis... No that's not right, coming to think of it, it is the exact opposite!!!
iTreasureHunt2 is a very clever little man who believes he has mastered the art of hiding the ultimate cache. Next he is going to build a time machine (out of card board boxes) on his school holidays.
But over and above all his amazing brilliance he wonders and ponders why we see people at GZ (when we drive past) but they do not log their DNF's. "His dream is to claim the hardest cache ever, so please log all your DNF's to support the little bloke.
Happy caching, and hopefully one day this cache will be known as the hardest cache ever and you will be part of its history.

Nice easy find (with the hint and runningiceman team to do the low downs). We felt using the hint to be best to avoid the red-backs. We convinced the runningiceman dad to reach into all the cobwebs and retrieve the cache. Then after we signed the log we also convinced runningiceman dad that it was his responsibility to replace it as he found it. He did that too. Well done on your second cache runningicemen. Great view by the way.
After dining out in Dalkeith with the brand new runningiceman team, we headed down to this cache to show them how it is done (in the torch light).....Hey thats not fair!!! we were meant to show you guys how to do it but young runningiceman blazed his way to his first find. Well done. Anyhow at least we could show them how to sign the log.
Oops, we may have created a monster...I gave my iphone to runningiceman mum so she could lead us to the cache and away she went "walking like a geocacher" (look that up on Youtube). It got a bit tricky at the end with all the mosquitoes etc, but we got it and signed the log. Nice high tide on a full moon.

Well we were there at 3:30 pm. And I'm telling you there was no cache there!!! Otherwise I would have found it!!! Right??? um...err....well that's my story and I am sticking to it. Will have to try this one again.
31-Jan-11
We looked everywhere logical and illogical. I notice this has not been sighted for a few months. I wonder if it is still there. I was not able to match the spoiler image to anything in the area. Maybe it needs attention or confirmation that it is still there. Great location at sunset.

I appreciate your genuine interest, I can't tell you how it was hidden because it was never hidden and only camouflaged. "The remnant", "Don't Go Bats", "Come In Sucker" and particularly the "The Eastern Sucker" could be affected by any comments made.
Therefore I am reluctant to divulge any further information.
I am also aware that others may be interested in placing similar hides.
My estimation is that "COME IN SUCKER" was within 3 to 4 months from being the all-time hardest cache in Australia (by total DNF's) (It was already the hardest by the ratio of DNF's v's Finds)
The only reason I ended it was because the sprinkler went missing again and the dirt was being dug up and the camo design was inferior and did not handle accidental miss-handling when found so often. (so often??? ha ha)
LIT'L SUCKER by iTreasureHunt2 hopefully does not have the same environmental issues (if you stay on the steps and don't unbolt anything) and won't be accidentally miss-handled.
So loggers, thanks again for your interest and as an alternative try "LIT'L SUCKER" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=9873aea9-5a16-4436-ad22-0edff9e6b084 and become part of this new and hopefully permanent legacy.

As I have assisted iTreasureHunt2 in developing this cache I will not be logging a Found or DNF.
Although TreasureHunt2 is a devious 7 y/o he will appreciate your assistance in cleaning up this site.
This site will respond well to enthusiastic hunters and should clean up well.
There is a bin near the top of the stairs. I have already removed some litter and will return to do more.
Don't worry, you won't muggle the cache by removing anything you even remotely think is litter.

Hey all you 48 watchers of "COME IN SUCKER"
I am very sorry to inform you that I am discontinuing this cache.
But do not despair!!! The "SUCKER" spirit will be carried on by a new cache published today called LIT'L SUCKER by iTreasureHunt2.
You may want to add LIT'L SUCKER on your watch list.
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=9873aea9-5a16-4436-ad22-0edff9e6b084
LIT'L SUCKER will be even more challenging and just as controversial as COME IN SUCKER but hopefully without the headaches.
Nobody will need to worry about being muggled and it is very accessible. The environment is sturdy.
COME IN SUCKER was only ever an accidental hit.
LIT'L SUCKER is planned and A LOT MORE CONTRIVED but also done in the same fun spirit as our other caches.
Enjoy, and Happy Caching.

Oh dear, I thought I would check on the cache. I am glad I did
It is in need of maintenance and has been removed. It was clearly saying "look at me"
This cache is the sort of cache that does not like being found because it does not hold up to inquisitive hands to well.
I hope to have it back by the coming weekend so nobody can find it.
Happy Caching.

Oh dear!!! It appears the last two loggers have got the wrong idea!!! You are not meant to find it!!! .....But anyhow CONGRATULATIONS.

Thought I would check the cache.... Whilst STANDING in the general vicinity of GZ I took a few photographs confirming the cache is as usual in plain view. For those who are determined to find it, please remember this cache is disguised and not hidden. If you have done "The Remnant" or "Don't go bats", you should get the general idea.
Also for those who are interested, the current DNF count of 101 makes this cache the 4th greatest DNF cache in Australia and well on its way to become the greatest DNF in Australia. The other three with greater DNF's of 104, 110, and 122 have been around for years and are actually statistically easier because they have been around for years longer. So please remember to log your DNF's Happy caching.

Checked the cache again today. Everything is fine including the sprinkler which should not be touched in any way. The "environment is fine as well. Thank you everyone for your concern, happy caching.
14-May-10
Ouch! that put a dent in the DNF ratio!!! Well done you guys. This cache has the 5th most DNF's in Australia and is competing with ones that have been around for years. The integrity of this cache is in the capable hands of of 8 clever finders and their teams. Basically we could expect about only 1 in 10 cachers to find it. I believe this makes it the hardest cache in Australia.
Ha!, no sorry .Simpsons but my previous log is correct. This sport is all about "Hide and Seek", not "Show and Tell".
If I was playing that game I would have painted it in fluorescent pink (or have I?).
Besides, I am looking at it from the "Hiders" point of view and you are looking from a "want-to be-finder" point of view.
The success of this cache has been its difficulty. Difficulty is measured by DNF's so the greater the ratio of DNF's the more successful it is... Ha! Ha! Ha! and Happy Caching.

For those recent DNF's that have doubted if the cache is still there......Yes it is there. I checked it at 3:45 pm today. In fact whilst STANDING around GZ I took a photo of the little sucker which is quite visible and in plain view. Happy caching.
Sorry, I have disabled this cache because the container needs maintenance. My plan is to have it up and running again very soon.

After disguising the last cache we did with the sweet scent of roses on mothers day, we decided to try another cache explaining the geomum that we only wanted to stop to look at the turtles and fishes.....It worked! The cache was good, the history lesson was great, and the turtles were relaxing. TFTH
We just had mothers day lunch in a park up the road. (Fish and chips) Geomum relaxed as we watched iTreasureHunt2 attempt to gather all the Autumn leaves on this windy Autumn Mothers day. He was defeated by a gust of wind. Anyhow we then popped down to this little park to do this cache. We didn't even use the GPS. It is the sort of cache that is very obvious and fun to find and retrieve for a 7 y/o. And the bit in the description about needing to "ascend or descend the grassy slope to get to the cache" leave a bit to be desired. iTreasureHunt's feelings were more like "ascend and descent the grassy slope about 10 times because it is there and it is fun" Great day, great spot for any kid. Thanks
Now it just wouldn't be right for me and iTreasureHunt2 to go caching on Geomothers Day, unless the cache is disguised in chocolates or roses or something.......mmmmm, .....He he he he!...... This cache was made for mothers day and what a great park it took us to. Geomum laid in the sun with the sweet scent of roses wafting in the air, and thinking what a lucky mum she is, and we went and did the cache. TFTH.

We went on a 18 km bike ride because iTreasureHunt2 has a new bike. We did some caches on the way. This was a nice easy find in a park that we would never have noticed otherwise. Great camo on the container and we treated it carefully. TFTH

We went on a 18 km bike ride because iTreasureHunt2 has a new bike. We did some caches on the way. Well this one nearly had is beaten. I would say we had only another 5 minutes left in us before we would have conceded a DNF, But then there it was, so obvious!! Also something slightly different with the container was fun for iTreasureHunt. (Maybe we do not always consider the fun of a find that is not expected) TFTH

Well Wandering Aus, You have excelled yourself with this horrible cache. I believe it should be rated as hard as Come In Sucker. My find was a joint FTF with iTreasureHunt2 so the Second To Find is still up for grabs.
I made sure it was left in the same place you left it, otherwise you will never find it again. Boy you certainly had us looking....I think the find was more (luck than skill) This is a high muggle zone and has some interesting elevations to consider.
Anyhow, Gardengorillas soon joined us but left after 10 minutes and an attempt to get a clue about Come In Sucker (Sorry, no clues).
Your GPS co-ordinates are fairly good and cannot be criticised.
We were muggled by the lady in the corner house. I spoke with her and told her about geocaching and to expect significant numbers of people doing what we were doing in the bush across the road.
Please respect the vegetation on this one. I believe it will be a difficult find and the vegetation will suffer. Please do not hurt the vegetation!!!
If you are doing anymore that gently touching the vegetation then you are probably looking in the wrong place. One of the bushes in the area is a grevilia (or however you spell it) so that is not good for those allergic to grevillia's (common rash type allergy) Thanks heaps for the challenge. I don't know what I would have done if we had not found it......???

I am the owner of the original "Come In Sucker" in WA which progressed to a level 4 difficulty by accident. It was never expected to be any harder than our other hides, and I still believe it should not be as hard as you all make it. An example is SquALeD's wife who found it in 20 minutes (and has only ever found 3 caches before).
What's in the name?? The truth is "Come in Sucker" was named because it is about 10 metres of a 6 lane highway called "Leach" Highway. There are no tricks (just smoke and mirrors commonly known as cammo), but maybe now the power of suggestion is contributing to everyones inabilities and their belief that they have been "sucked in" is complicating this straight forward find.
As the creator, I personally would describe "The Eastern Come In Sucker" as a micro, not a nano. (but that is just a mater of opinion)
There is no nasty tricks with this cache. All the finders of Come In Sucker in WA have agree it was fair and honest in every word of the description and notes, and the trick was not to find it, but rather to recognise it.
As I am a part owner of this cache and live 3283.3 km away Yurt provided a photo of the cache taken from several metres away and it is in plain view for all to see, so STOP, STAND STILL and LOOK.
Please be nice to the environment and Yurt. You have no idea how emotional and stressful it is to manage a high rating DNF cache.

I have added a link to a related web page for the clone of this cache. " The Eastern Come In Sucker" was born in Sydney on the weekend and so far has 9 DNF's, no FTF, and the same general response as this cache had. It appears the Sydney cachers are just as enthusiastic as the WA ones.

Found it with iTreasureHunt. THis is not a very nice spot for a cache for kids. Basically it is littered with old clumps of toilet paper, say no more.
TFTH hide anyhow. I would never have known about this beach otherwise.

Along with iTreasureHunt2 and Geomum (Happy Birthday Geomum) we were passing this one on our way for coffee so we stopped to look whilst Geomum rested on the grass. We were close to giving up but Geomum insisted we keep looking....(No, I am not making this up!) ....so we kept looking. Thanks geomum, you must be getting more tolerant with age. ..... but we still had couldn't find it. We will will be back.
