I know that this Roller Coaster isn't a large one, but it probably the only one in Northern Ontario Canada. It is located in Chippewa Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It is shut down for the winter at the time of the visit.

A different type of suspension bridge located at Latchford Ontario Canada, over the Montreal River.
The bridge was being rebuilt at the time of the picture.
A copy of years ago, a section of the road bed on this bridge collapsed almost sending a tractor trailer into the river.

Scout Canoe Camp
Northern Tier - Rogert's Atikokan - National High Adventure Base - BSA - Atikokan, Ontario Canada
Myself (1st Marathon (Ontario, Canada) Scout Leader) with two of our scouts headed out from this base on August 23 for a 5 days and 4 night canoe trip. We were dropped off at Turtle Lake with one scout from Atikokan and the Field Excutive for Scouts Canada as guide. 59.5 kilometers and 4 portages later we were back at base camp. We had sun, rain, thunderstorms, winds, one portage of 900 meters and another of 600 meters and two shorter ones. Saw several bald eagles, hawkes, one large snapping turtle, caught 6 bass and one pike in total during the trip. Did not see any bears although their evidence was there. Had a great time.

Battle Island Lightstation. Built in 1911. Still in active use. Has been declared a Historical Building. The lightkeeper retired 12 years ago but still maintain, the lightstation in exchange for being able to live here in the summer. Off the coast of Northern Ontario near Rossport, Ontario on Lake Superior. The lighthouse survived a major storm (80-90 mph winds in 1977, 40 foot waves crashed onto the rock blow and the spray knocked out several of the window at the top of the lighthouse 110 feet above the water level. The island was a site of a battle between Indian and troops in the early 1880's. The troops were moving west to Manitoba to put down the Louis Real Rebellion.
The lamp was original fired with an oil-vapour lamp using pressurized kerosene. An original clockwrk type mecahisn was used to rotate the mirros. Then changed to a 250 watt electrical bulb. In 2003 it was converted to 250W halogan bulb.
