I can confirm that his name was Tony Dodson (not Dobson), he was an engineer and an amateur astronomer who made several (optical) telescopes of his own.

Co-ords are outside CIT grounds, but description references a structure and plaque that are on private property. Please confirm that the cache is not on private property, there are security guards around who don't like it when people act weird.
