Logs for kiwidave2
27-Jan-20
First one for a good while. I would never have known about the shipwreck if it hadn't been for this geocache, so thanks for bringing us to this beautiful and interesting spot.
13-Oct-19
An enjoyable walk - even my partner who has reciently had both knees replaced says she enjoyed it, albeit a bit slower. In fact she found it - I was looking a few meters away. TFTC
It was low tide and an almost inappropriate vehicle, but drove there and found it - partly filled with water but cleaned it up as best i could and replaced. TFTC
06-May-16
03-May-16
Found fairly easily. I too came from the other direction - glad I don't live close to the concrete bunker. TFTC.
20-May-15
31-Aug-13
found it but no log and base part of "log holder" missing. I added wee slip of paper for temp log and left all in place. Will not be waterproof though - needs a new thimble sized holder.
22-Aug-13
found without too much trouble. A resident (Duncan's dad)? came out and asked if we were council looking to remove? the tree!! Said no of course, and educated him about geocaching. TFTC
Nah... not up to it. If it's in your face, I obviously had it turned the wrong way. Couldn't find it, and there were only a couple of casual walkers so I had (I thought) a good hunt in regards to the clue/s.

Left my gps in Auckland, but with the hint and google earth picture in mind went exploring anyway. Just as well my navigator was with me - she found it at the first place she looked. I, being the expert, was a wee distance away looking where I reckoned it should've been. TFTC
01-Apr-13
Five out of five for this island. Missed it on the first pass and ended up having to clamber down to it. Should have taken more notice of the previous entries, and had more faith in my instrument. A great hide - thanks for the effort in setting it.
after being held in conversation for ages and enjoying the great views with a couple of tourists at GZ , the muggles finaly moved on and allowed us to get on with the serious business of finding the cache, which we are pleased to report was achieved. TFTC
31-Mar-13
dingied over from the big island and after read the interesting plaque fount the cache. I wonder who wrote and had that poem placed there? TFTC
30-Mar-13
found it, but unfotunatly never brought a pencil with me today. Engraved my entry with a stick - hope this qualifies. TFTC

Walked this Island a number of times before being converted. Never new then these treasure hunts existed. This is my first FTF, but unfortunatly hadn't remembered to bring a pencil soe engraved my entry on the first page with a stick. Hope this qualifies!

yeeha. Five out of five for the island. We left the trickiest to last though - immediatly found the flax flowers (maybe it's the drought but they now look a little dried out) but had a bit of trouble finding the cache. Just as well i had a helper. Hidden in plain sight is often the best disguise!! TFTCashes.
second for the day. The establishment was fresh out of P.B. sandwiches though - should have brought my own. TFTC
First of five on this island. One of our favorite walks in B.O.I. and first time here looking for caches.
26-Mar-13
found it - after getting our breath back. Don't forget to bring a pencil. I forgot to bring a writing stick so engraved (indistinctly) my find on the page with a stick. I trust this qualifies!
02-Feb-13
Found it. It is somewhat interesting how even the "easy" ones often take a little bit more searching than when found you'd think!! TFTC
Found it after a bit of a hunt. Must get me a GPS that dosn't mind tree cover. TFTC
01-Feb-13
found while out walking the park. cross referenced the co-ords on my wonky gps while walking around and there it was. TFTC
After disentangling from previously mentioned rose bush thorns, found the right landmark and then there it was - no it wasn't, that was some low-lifes discarded rubbish. Found it pretty close to that though. TFTC
found easy enough after mulling over the rather cryptic clue.
Need new log sheet. Managed to find a wee corner to log my visit but log totaly full. TFTC

29-Jan-13
Didn't know this wee area was there. Sat on the grass contemplating the "art work" and after few minutes saw the possibility -- and YES. TFTC
26-Dec-12
One of four discovered during this evening stroll while dodging showers and other hazzards. TFTC
First of four for the evening. Didn't know this park was here and quite close to home too. There is a house shortage in Auckland - when is the developer going to do somthing with the several vacant sections below? TFTC
Yes. a beautiful cryptic name for a cute cache. Second of four found on our evening stroll. TFTC
the fourth and final of the afternoon. Found by my partner as I was contemplating the pile of weeds afore-mentioned by the previous treasure hunter. TFTC
20-Dec-12
A fun hunt in the evening. Didn't find the Odd Trees, but the mozzies found me while writing the log. TFTC
10-Dec-12
took grandson to feed the ducks. Had a quick scout while he was being a tidy kiwi and found it on first pass. TFTC. It does need new log.
08-Dec-12
You get some strange looks in this game! No golfers, but just as I was replacing the cache a couple of guys appeared out of nowhere at the tap to water their dogs. Their expressions were quite interesting as I emerged from the area.
19-Aug-12
bit wet underfoot after lot of rain, but with half hour to kill before appointment found it no trouble. TFTC
31-Jul-12
stayed the night before anchored off the island hoping for better weather next day. Not so, (it is the depths of winter after all) Donned wet weather gear and made the trip - found pretty easily. Co-ords perfect. Thanks for the excuse to go up the inlet.
19-Jun-12
I love this track. walked it a number of times and never knew these treasures existed. TFTC
quite a trek. Found it with my first attempt after scouting around in the car. Getting to gz was one thing, finding my way back was another mission. A beautiful spot. everyone should do this cache. I started from the seat of learning, through some undeveloped pasture. thanks for the cache
11-Jun-12
Had to be a bit careful with Muggles mowing the park, but there it was on my first look. TFTC.
second visit though. don't know why I missed it the first time, sure I looked in that place before. TFTC
great walk. I just love seeing those (young) kauri's establishing themselves. TFTC
A while since this one was visited. All still good though. A fun multi exercise. TFTC
couldn't find it the first try, then reading the correct coord's from SaltyCacheNutZ put me right on it. If only I was a few years younger, going up and down this wonderful track the extra time wouldn't have bothered me. Phew!! TFTC
03-Jun-12
Found my VERY FIRST cache. I live close by on a yacht, so now I know what the occasional 'tourist' was probably doing!! Thanks for placing it there.
