Logs for kmlooi

15-Jul-23
Came into central Wellington to try to finish off some Adventure Labs and, while I was at it, take in a few physical caches while I was at. Hell, even actually logging it now. Now, to address my massive 2.5 year backlog...

Anyway, this one was straigthforward, once I figure out where I actually needed to sit. Nice bit of camo Smile TFTC!

Last one in the area before heading up the Aro Valley road to finish off some Adventure Lab caches. Another straightforward find. Signed the supplementary log then had fun trying to roll both logs back up and re-insert into the container. TFTC!

Now, to try to address my massive backlog of finds...

Second opportunistic cache as I wandered around finishing up some Adventure Labs . Quickly spotted the hide - very clever (FP awarded), just took me a while to figure out to extract it. TFTC!

Planning to attend.

Will be there with aeshna_uk.

27-Aug-22
Another joint [FTF] following the puzzle cracking session at the Speight Ale House. TFTC; hope I can keep up the momentum!

Second event in as many weeks? Marvellous! As ever, fun to catch up, even more fun cracking the new puzzle. Had a few errands to run before heading off to the new cache but thanks for organizing!

26-Aug-22
Will be attending.

21-Aug-22
Found with aeshna_uk. We were in Carterton the previous night for a performance by The Boss, a Springsteen tribute act. I'd heard about Stonehenge Aotearoa and the presence of a nearby cache swung it for me - we detoured by here after brunch with friends on our way home. Got challenged by the nearby homeowner; when I told him why I was there, he pointed me to the cache. Guess that makes for a pretty easy find! TFTC!

20-Aug-22
Been a while but time to get back in to caching!

Definitely been slacking on the caching front. Figured this event would be a good time to try to get started again (and maybe even reduce my backlog). Nice to see a load of familiar faces again. Thanks for organising!

Tried to find this before my very first meetup in New Zealand and had no joy. Having parked up nearby, decided to give this another go after the nearby International Geocaching Day meetup and , despite presence of muggles nearby, managed to spot and sign it at last. TFTC!

22-Feb-22
Popped out briefly from the office for this, initially forgot the location had been changed and went to the old one. Fortunately, I got to the right one in good time for the actual moment. Good to chat and catch up and a reminder that I need to get back to my logging backlog! Thanks for organising!

Been meaning to do this one for ages but the thing that finally motivated me was the souvenir so stopped off at Tawa station, quick walk over for a straightforward find. TFTC!

16-Jan-22
Found with aeshna_uk. Solved the puzzle a while ago but, the first time we came to GZ, there were muggles at GZ so came back again today on a gloriously sunny day for a quick find. TFTC!

15-Jan-22
I'll be working around the corner so how could I not? Smile

Found with aeshna_uk. Back in Porirua again as last week's attempt to visit UK Goodies on Jackson Street had been unsuccessful due to it still being closed. We'd actually tried to find this some time ago but there were muggles nearby so we had to abort. Decided it was about this so parked up nearby and, fortunately, the coast was clear this time. Quick, easy find, bar a bit of rubbish around GZ. TFTC!

14-Jan-22
Found with aeshna_uk. This is one of those caches I kind of scoped out during the 2020 lockdown but somehow never got round to coming back to actually find and log. Decided it was long overdue, came over and parked up nearby. Fortunately, I didn't need to spend too long in amongst the scratch plants before finding the cache. Very amused by the Police note Smile TFTC!

12-Jan-22
Walked past this countless times since arriving in New Zealand and I only work a short walk away so I decided it was about time. Came down twice, once at lunch and again in the evening and noted the change in colour. Answers sent to CO. TFTC!

10-Jan-22
This is one of those caches I've been meaning to go to for ages, especially given I take the train in to central Wellington almost every work day. Finally got round to it before heading home. Quick check for the proof of visit question, answers sent to CO and confirmed. TFTC!

Found with aeshna_uk.

Bloody Hell, this was a tough climb especially having gone up to the Pinnacles on a blazing sunny day but worth it for the views. Having taken in the views, we then headed over to the cache. Took a bit of finding but got there in the end. FP awarded, TFTC!

31-Dec-21
Ironically, I pass this almost every day on my way to work but only finally got round to stopping to get the details for the questions; God only knows how often I've hacked or attacked this location as an Ingress portal though! Answers sent to CO. TFTC.

Found with aeshna_UK.

Decided to take a trip up to visit Rivendell at last and this cache was just across the road from where we'd parked up so started off with this quick find. Rather amused to see the dinosaur in there. TFTC!

25-Dec-21
Found with aeshna_UK.

Part of my effort to get back into geoaching and to clear my massive logging backlog!

Came down this way for Christmas Day lunch on the beach. Bit windy but still a fun day. We'd actually looked for this cache without success not long after we first arrived in New Zealand but, this time, it was a fairly straightforward find. TFTC!

Part of my effort to get back into geoaching and to clear my massive logging backlog!

I'd tried to find this previously but without success. On this occasion, however, spotted it very quickly! TFTC!

We'd moved in quite nearby and had finished work for the year so I figured it was about time we went to look for this one. Quick stroll and a quick find. TFTC!

Found with aeshna_UK.Part of my effort to get back into geoaching and to clear my massive logging backlog! We'd been to Zealandia on a day off and came round this way afterwards. After admiring the views, I saw there was a cache nearby so took a quick stroll across for a straightforward find. TFTC!

19-Sep-21
Found with aeshna_UK.

On my Birthday, I made a resolution to get back into geocaching - I'd been finding stuff intermittently but had a massive logging backlog going back over 18 months. As it happened, I didn't actually start logging till January 2022. Oh well, will have to go through my
photos of logs etc and work my way through the backlog but my Birthday seemed a good place to start.

We'd been to Porirua to do some shopping and I decided to find the nearest cache. Fortunately, a fairly gentle reintroduction - car park was pretty deserted bar learners practicing. Slope was a bit tricky though.

TFTC!

01-Aug-21
Part of effort to catch up on my logging backlog!

Found with aeshna_uk on a drive to the Plimmerton for Sunday brunch and a visit to Palmer's nearby. Took a brief walk up the road for a quick, easy find. TFTC!

25-Jul-21
Part of my attempt to catch up with my massive logging backlog.

Attended with aeshna_uk. Fun catching up with fellow geoachers again and working on the puzzle. Sadly, we had to leave early as we had an appointment for an Ingress mission in Levin that afternoon.

Thanks for organising and apologies for the late log!

10-Jul-21
Part of my effort to clear my logging backlog.

Found with aeshna_uk on a visit to Johnsonville. Straightforward find thanks to the hint. Think Dead Centre of Johnsonville would have been a great name! TFTC.

Part of my attempt to clear my logging backlog.

Back in the area for another company retreat and taking advantage of the morning off to look for some nearby caches. I did indeed start from the wrong end of the trail but got there in the end. TFTC!

Part of my effort to clear my logging backlog.

Was back in the area for another company retreat. We had the morning off so I went to catch up on some nearby caches, this being one of them. Straightforward find thanks to the description. TFTC!

Part of my attempt to clear my logging backlog.

Back in the area for another company retreat and taking advantage of the morning off to look for some nearby caches. This was the last on my walk before returning for lunch with colleagues. Cache contents were a little damp so I stuck in a desiccation sachet. TFTC!

08-Jun-21
Part of my effort to clear my logging backlog.

Back in Auckland for a couple of days for work. Went on a walk after dinner and swung by here before finishing the evening with a drink at Dr Rudy's Rooftop Brewing Company nearby.

Part of my efforts to clear my logging backlog.

Back in Auckland for another couple of days for work. After dinner at a nearby Malaysian restaurant, swung by for a look. Tricky with all the muggles around but hung around waiting for suitable gaps to have a look and eventually got there. TFTC!
