Hmm. I looked for several minutes but could not find this one. Is it tricky? Maybe I'll try this on my next visit from San Francisco.
I couldn't find this one, but on the other hand there were so many people on the trail that I could not do anything without people watching. I'll try again the next time I visit from San Francisco.

I found this while attending a mathematics conference nearby, visiting from San Francisco.

Visiting from San Francisco. I had some trouble finding this one, but finally spotted the item. In spite of being sealed in a snap-lock container, the log book is SOAKED. If someone is planning am trip here, do the cache owner a favor and bring a new booklet and plastic bag.
Visiting from San Francisco. The shopkeeper has trimmed the bush, so it is now an easy fetch.

Visiting from San Francisco. I almost gave up on this one, but then spotted something suspicious near the base of a tree...
22-Jul-11
I found a flat magnet attached to a metal item, but no cache... I'll look again on a future visit to Australia (I"m from San Francisco, CA, USA).
19-Jul-11
Just as I reached the cache site, rain started to pour. I quickly checked two or three likely places, then aborted the search and headed back to my hotel (Executive Inn). I"ll try again on another visit to Australia.

We found this cache in very good condition. While we were there, we introduced a nice German couple to geocaching.
I found this on Saturday, while on a trip from San Francisco. It was fascinating to watch chess being played nearby.
This is a VERY lovely spot! Don't just stand there -- hike to the top of this hill and gawk at the view...

I found this one this morning after a very pleasant walk along the beach. This is a very lovely spot!
I have come a long way to find this cache: a 12,500-km airline flight from San Francisco to Sydney, then a 3000 km flight from Sydney to Cairns, then a long walk on the beach from a spot near the bed-and-breakfast place where we are staying. Yesterday we took a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef.

We found this one this morning, after a very pleasant walk along the beach. This is a very lovely area! This particular geocache find has the distinction of being (a) our most northerly find in the southern hemisphere, and (b) the closest find to the equator ever.

My wife and I found this one while on a trip from San Francisco. Sydney is a very lovely city indeed.

I'm visiting from San Francisco. This is my most southerly excursion ever! I looked at several likely places at the cache site, but could not find anything. There were lots of people around, so I couldn't be too thorough.
I'm visiting from San Francisco. This is my most southerly excursion ever! I'm pretty sure this one is missing in action.
I'm visiting from San Francisco. This is my most southerly excursion ever! The bells played beautifully, but I could not find anything. I was really hoping to find this one, thus landing my most southerly find. Instead it is my most southerly DNF...
I'm visiting from San Francisco. This is my most southerly excursion ever! I found the spot and searched carefully twice, while hanging on for dear life, but could not find anything resembling a cache. Is it still there?

After failing to find this one during my previous visit from San Francisco in February, today I tried again, with a more accurate GPS. Again I was unable to find anything at the cache site. Is it still there?
I finally found this one, but had to dodge dozens of hikers along this patch. The "protective covers" for this one are quite heavy.
I finally found this one, after several hurried searches while waiting for the large crowds at the wharf today (which was an absolutely beautiful day) to look the other way.
I failed to find this one on my trip from San Francisco in February. This time I had a better idea of where it might be and found it quickly. As a bonus, just as I was retrieving it from its hiding place, I met a geocaching family, and we co-signed the log.
Unfortunately, just after I retrieved the cache, one of the park rangers came by and sternly told us not to go into the area where the cache was located, which (unlike on my previous visit) is now behind a protective barrier. Just for emphasis, the ranger moved the barrier to close the gap where I had squeezed by. As a result, I was not able to replace the cache in its original spot. Instead, I placed it in a similar spot just outside the protective barrier, about 3-4 meters away. I hope this is satisfactory. Otherwise the cache will be inaccessible for future geocachers.

I looked quite a while at the cache site, but could not find anything resembling a geocache.

I found this one at the start of a hike through Blackbutt Reserve, while on a trip from San Francisco.
I spotted the likely location from the trail and found it in the first place I checked. I'm surprised there aren't a lot more geocaches in the Blackbutt Reserve. Perhaps some locals can plant a few more? I'm here on a trip from San Francisco.
This one is definitely off-trail, but I found it without any difficulty. I'm here on a trip from San Francisco.

I found this one while on a trip from San Francisco. Hey, somebody has to do these remote, difficult-to-access geocaches, so why not me??
I was embarrassed at how long it took me to find the cache. I thought I searched "the spot" carefully, at least twice, and was about to give up before I spotted it from some rocks below... Believe me, it is possible to (a) hike to the spot, and (b) find the geocache. It is fairly large, and is hidden in an "obvious" location. Just be patient.
Nonetheless, this geocache is well worth the effort. The rocks above the geocache feature a STUNNING view, and it is even better if you continue hiking a few hundred meters to the cliffs (see attached photo). Thanks very much for placing a cache at this lovely spot.

I found this one while on a trip from San Francisco. Thanks very much for "labeling" this trailhead. This is one of only a handful of geocache finds of mine in the southern hemisphere.
I found this one without too much trouble, while on a trip from San Francisco. The log sheet is quite damp and needs to be replaced.

I looked for this one while visiting the harbor, on a trip from San Francisco. The spot is a very busy area, and so I didn't feel comfortable looking there at any length.
I checked for this one today, while on a trip from San Francisco. This is a spot with many rocks and other nooks, and we did not have much time, ...

While on a visit from San Francisco, I tried to find this one, which is quite near the hotel where we are staying. Sadly, I checked a number of different spots, including one suggested by the hint, but...

This is my first geocache find in the southern hemisphere! My wife and I are visiting from the San Francisco area. This is a lovely area.
I looked for this one, while on a visit from San Francisco, but was unable to find it. If we get some time, we might try again.
