Logs for matthew_lane

20-Dec-19
Travelled down to see the family for Christmas, so we could all travel even further south, down to Esperance. Stopped off here to do a quick cache & found it.

10-Jul-19
This geocacher reported that the logbook is full.

Also the log book is pretty full. It's so full all the most recent log entries are on the actual card cover of the old log book. Might be time to add a new log book.

Went down about lunch time, but since today was pretty gloomy & overcast so it felt like it was first thing in the morning, almost no one was around, except the birds, who were going crazy.

It was like seeing the dawn chorus when the birds are busy feeding at day break, but it was the middle of the day.

Had 2 cyclists ride past me & a jogger jog past while I was standing off the path, logging the cache & no one as much as noticed I was there. So either people around there aren't all that observational, or I really am a master of hiding in plain sight.

Generally a nice find, and an interesting trek.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log.

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

It's been months since this one was flagged. Maybe it's time to archive it.

05-Feb-19
Can we get a health check on this one please? It's been almost a year since someone found this one & if we don't get a health check confirmation soon, it will have to be archived.

07-Dec-18
Found the location fine, but when I got there, there were staff present doing some kind of site security (they even set off the alarms while I was there) & that would have looked suspicious if I'd just hopped the fence & started searching a power box, in the middle of nowhere, on private property.

So no go until I can get back out there to finger tip search the location without any muggles around to see me looking dodgy, or until I can bring my niece with me & have her do it (that's what kids are for after all).

What can one say about a cache like this. It's super interesting, but anything you say will down play it.

Yeah I found it. An easy one to start of the loop.

Did not find this one. Went to do a finger tip search & immediately found a giant flippin'spider. Needless to say I gave out a manly scream & jumped a foot in to the air in a most masculine fashion.

This is certainly not a battledroid, I can say that for certain.

You should be given props for your dedication to geocaching, this is the first time I've ever seen a cache guarded by attack spiders. Wink

A minties tin he said, lies, lies & treachery. Wink

It is no longer a minties tin ya'll, it's a nano & I can assure you it's there as of today. I almost gave up myself, but decided to do a quick finger tip search after a visual inspection failed to discover a minties tin & what did my fingers find but an itty bitty nano.

01-Dec-18
Did not find it & given how many people have suspected it's likely been muggled, this seems to be likely given that that I spotted where it probably was previously.

So if we can get some owner confirmation on wether this one has been muggled or not, that'd be great.

28-Oct-18
Didn't find. Not sure if this one has been muggled or not, but I'd probably check on this one & relocate it even if it's not been muggled, on account of it's sub-par location.

I went to the GPS co-ord's only to find (what I assume is ) the GZ swarming with ants & spiders & with the apparent need to either kneel right on top of an ants nest, or just shove my hand blindly in to a spider & ant infested rotten log.

Neither of which I'm willing to do.

So I would suggest relocating this one to a more suitable hiding place if I am right about where it's hidden.

25-Oct-18
Found it & a pod of dolphins just passing by.

16-Oct-18
Needs to be archived, it's been down since February 2018. It's now October 2018. It needs to be archived, so someone else can build in that area.

Did not find. I saw the note about the co-ords being wrong, so I checked further up, even checked that stump, but didn't spot anything. Might have been muggeled, or I might just be blind.

Either way, nice walk & a nice little park. A little unimpressive as far as set up goes, but secreted away from the general public & I like that in a park, it's like I'm in on a secret that no one else knows, albeit a pretty lame secret.

10-Oct-18
A nice & easy find, exactly what I wanted to finish out the day.

30-Sep-18
Nice easy find, as part of my 3 km walk today.

Did not find. I looked & looked, but I didn't see it anywhere.

02-Jun-18
Took a nice walk around a pleasant area, had a lot of fun. How much fun? A whole bucket of fun.

[archived due to changes in the area]

Hi folks,
I didn't want it to come to this, but I have chosen to archive this geocache at this time due to a change in the atmosphere of the area.

As such I have decided to archive this geocache, but I would like to take the chance to thank the many people who visited this geocache over the last 3ish years & hope you all had a grand old time finding the cache (or not finding it as the case may be).

Kind Regards

A beautiful day in the city, nice 6km walk down of the foreshore on the 27th of last month. Well worth the walk & as you can see, not a single person around, even in the middle of the day.

21-Apr-18
First day away from studying and work in a month & so I decided to hit up two spatial illusion caches. Took some photos, just sitting here looking at them & they are still doping my head in.

Thanks for the nifty find.

That is one triksy cache, I love it.

Thanks for the adventure.

14-Feb-18
A wonderful place to walk to on my Geo-Travels, coupled with the Zombie Run exercise game. A nice easy 4 km walk & actually over shot the GZ & had to back track a little.

Found it easy enough: A nice easy find, even found my first trackable, but since I'm not travelling for a couple of months, I left it were I found it for the next person.

Thanks for the cache & the exercise to a nice park with an unexpected view of the city.

01-Feb-18
3rd expedition in to the wilds of Warwick, in search of wild geo-caches. Was successful, took nothing, left nothing, signed the log book.

Was utterly empty, not a single person, was quite peaceful.

30-Jan-18
Day 2 of Walk-a-palooza, and this cache made a fine excuse to walk from one suburb to another to seek out hidden treasure. A nice, easy find, just the way I like them.

So, many thanks to our fine geo-owner for the adventure.

This one doesn't seem to have been found in two years now, it's also been marked as needing maintenance months ago.

I think at this point we can safely say it's should probably be archived.

29-Mar-17
Did not find: I looked at the photos to get an idea of where it should be, and what I was looking for & even found where others appear to think it was, but couldn't spot it. Not saying it's been muggeled, as I was in a bit of a time crunch, but I can't say for certain that isn't what's happened.

Will have to keep my eye on this one, see if anyone else finds it before I try it again.

14-Feb-17
Spent an hour looking high and low for this one & I still couldn't find it. Has anyone at all found this one this year? Has it been checked recently to make sure it hasn't been muggled?

20-Oct-16
AT LAST!

I swear this is like the fifth time I've tried for this one. Every single time I've tried it was muggle central. Happened to just be passing through today at about 1 in the afternoon & it was conspicuously less populated.

So I said to my self, "you have about 40 seconds before this place fills back up with people again, look around, think, where would you hide it.... I would hide it right there" At which point I walked up to it's exact location & pulled it out without even looking.

I swear it was one of the coolest things I've ever done & there was no one around to see me do it.

Thanks for the find, oh also log books getting a little full, might be time to replace it soon.

Was logged as requiring maintenance 5 months ago. No one else has apparently found it since it was logged as needing maintenance.

21-May-16
Found it, but I really need a proper GPS unit, since my phone spazzed out under the canopy and the overcast cloud cover.... My poor phone kept on jumping between the sump station & the clump of trees, poor phone I treat you so badly by making you geocache with me.

Any who, found the cache by employing the ancient geocaching secret of "sitting down and waiting till you spot the hiding place."

Generally a nice walk in a nice area to a nice park & frankly those are my favorite type of caches, so cheers.

Needs archiving

Yeah this ones been muggeled & has a needs maintenance tag for months now. Might be time to archive it.

01-May-16
My apologies, it was muggeled while I was away on business. But I'm back & it's once again up and running, but the magnetic utility plate has been replaced with a black plastic magnetic bison tube like construction.

I've also bumped up the difficulty a little since I don't want it to be found again by the mud-bloods.

14-Mar-16
A tricky find. I knew what I was looking for and I too almost missed it entirely. I was about ready to give it up for the day when I tried one last place & found it. Heck if I didn't know what I was looking for I would never have found it.

Nicely hidden.

21-Jan-16
Yeah this one has been muggeled again, so I'm out: I will no longer be baby sitting this one since it appears to get destroyed almost as fast as I replace it (even though I'm not the owner).

Either some human or animal force is actively looking for this one & destroying it over and over again, so I suggest the archiving of this one. It literally spends more time destroyed then it does operational.

So I'll mark this one as needs maintenance & hope the OP either repairs the cache or archives it.

Cache is still very much in place. Maintenance was done on the cache on Tuesday & has been checked this afternoon in response to a query that it might have been disturbed. It has not been disturbed it is just well camouflaged as others have noted.

09-Dec-15
Found it, was a pleasant walk in a part of the city I don't often visit. Also found a nice little roof top bar at the other end of Prince Lane called Cavalcade.

Co-ordinates were a little out, but I reckon that's more me using my phone as a makeshift GPS & not being able to get a clean signal between the buildings rather than the co-ordinates actually being wrong.

Even so it was a nice easy find with out any kneeling, or scrambling in the dirt. Nice easy find was exactly what I was looking for today, much appreciated.

22-Oct-15
The cache has once again been repaired & the log has been replaced, but it's now hidden so well it will require a finger tip search to find it. Hopefully that will stop it from being muggeled for a few weeks.

Good hunting everyone.

27-Aug-15
Showed up at GZ to find ambulances, police & fist fighting aboriginals..... Decided it might not be the best time to be looking for a geocache at the location. Will have to try it again on some day when the surroundings are slightly less busy.

26-Aug-15
A nice hide, not to difficult, just what I was looking for. Unfortunately I made the mistake of riding my Geobike to the location. I swear I looked at the map & saw it was only a km or so & thought, no probs, that'll be easy.... Forgot it's all down hill one way & all uphill on the way home.

Still it's a good excuse for some much needed exercise. Thanks for the hide, much appreciated.

11-Aug-15
This one was destroyed more than 4 months ago & the owner seems to not have logged on in almost a year, so I've gone & replaced the past minties tin with a new one. I hid an identical built cache in roughly the same place, I found it in but I can't be sure if it's exactly the same spot it was in before it was destroyed (since the object it was hidden on has many nooks and crannies ), so if you've done this one before, it's been hidden a fresh, waiting for someone new to find it.

As always bring your own stick.

Kind Regards

25-Jul-15
Nice pleasant Sunday find, made a little bit difficult by the sudden appearance of muggles.

22-Apr-15
Appears to have been muggled. Photo in gallery of what's left of the tin to confirm.
