Yonah Lake Dam has about 70 feet of head and is capable of 22.5 Megawatts. The dam is 90 feet high and 980 feet long, and was completed in 1925. Elevation at bottom at 699' and at top at 790'. It dams the Tugaloo River which flows into Lake Hartwell and becomes part of the Savannah River, the border between Georgia and South Carolina, and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. It supplies water and electricity to city of Taccoa and is part of the Georgia Hydro-Plant system.

Way cool concept for a virtual cache. Another from the north Georgia mountains in the USA. Great way to cache when it's cold/rainy/icy. Am gonna look for information on #2.

2nd of 5 caches today. Used 'Cache Cow' as a launch point. Paddled over in canoe. Had to carry 12 ft. fiberglass canoe down (and back up) the launch - WHEW! Pretty easy paddlin' tho - not too many SkiDooers/boats roughin' up the water. ETrex led me straight to it. Took cassette tape of '70s hits (brings back memories) and left a WWJD bracelet. Cache gettin' kinda full.
(BTW- The 'adult things' are still on the log!)
