Logs for roaming-haywards

My first cache for a couple of years, and what a great place to start again. I decided to head out for a walk from my accommodation down along the lake front from the outlet around to waterfall creak. A course I have done many times running but never at a nice relaxed pace with plenty of time to enjoy the views. What a beautiful part of the world this is. I just hope it doesn't get completely over developed like Queenstown. Once at the location, it didn't take long to find the cache, and I love the reference to the name. Because I was not planning to go caching when I left, I unfortunately didn't have a pen with me so I hope a photo will be ok as proof. Thanks for the cache.

Last one for 2018. Found on the way home from Wanaka. Thanks for all of the cache’s this year and we are looking forward to having a good 2019. Safe travels where ever you may be heading over the holiday period. The roaming Hayward’s

Sorry this log is a little bit late, I forgot to log it once I arrived home. This was a very nice park and find on the way home from Dunedin and a good way to get back on the old horse as it were! Since finishing my job around here and moving closer to home, I have found it hard to find the time to go out caching but this summer I am going to make the effort again. I have always loved the area around Waihola so its good to see some more around here. I am looking forward to having another crack at the mystery ones. As always, thanks Natalie for the time and effort you put into these, The Roaming Haywards.

Another new cache in the area thanks Muzzer. I wasn’t able to grab this one straight away so was surprised when after work last night it hadn’t already been found. i took the nice easy drive to the area and found plenty of safe parking around the cache. After that things didn’t quite go to plan. My first attempt at looking came up short, couldn’t find the thing anywhere. so i retreated back to the car, and had to submit to reading the hint, this time i headed back and almost missed it again! Not sure what the problem was, it shouldn’t have been that hard! I didn’t know there was a waterfall around here. I will be back with the camera one day. Thanks for the cache, The Roaming Haywards.

Off again around the district to get some more caches and add to my first to find haul for the year! I am certainly luck the wife and kids are away on holiday for the christmas / New Year period or I’m pretty sure i would have been grounded by now! This was another nice cruse around the area south of home, a part i don’t really spend much time in but should rectify that from here on in. All of the caches are spot on with the coordinates and are very close to safe parking. I will have to sit down soon and start thinking about the questions swell. Thanks as always for the cache, The Roaming Haywards.

Im going to try and fill in a few of my missing gaps in my yearly calendar this year and today was a good day to start. Traveling back from Dunedin for work, this looked like a good, easy park and grab for me. I was not mistaken! There is loads of parking just off the highway and its nice and safe for kids. The location of the cache was pretty obvious but it did take a little time to get because i had to wait for a lull in the traffic. Once obtained though, inside was nice and dry and there is plenty of room in the log book for signing. Again it took a few minutes to be able to get it back in place. Nice and easy but patience is required at certain times of day. Twenty past five on a Thursday evening is not perhaps the best time! Thanks for the cache, The Roaming Haywards.

wow, what a great couple of days to get out and grab some first to finds. i was pretty excited to head out with james and get 2 in the first lot but then at about 3pm when my emails started going nuts i couldn’t believe what was happening! well it made for a long couple of hours before i could finish work and head out and grab them! all of them are in good locations for parking and nice and easy finds. some are in high milk tanker traffic areas though so a little care is required. Thanks natalie for taking the time and effort to put out so many new caches in the area. (even if 2 were very close to where i have been way pointing for a couple myself!) . Keep up the fantastic work, The Roaming Hywards

Thought I would head out today after work to get my first cache of the year. It was such a beautiful evening I decided to grab the push bike and ride the 15 kilometres up the valley. Lovely ride and a nice area for a geocache. This was a nice easy find. There was plenty of room in the log book and inside was nice and dry. This was a good way to start off the new year and my plan to hit the two hundred caches for the year. Thanks for the cache, The Roaming Haywards

Checked this morning. Everything is ok, still in place. Inside dry and with plenty of room. I have place a black cable tie on the tree leading in.

Out and about today with the family to get the last cache of 2017. Bit of a road trip as we headed out to check my own first. Not the nicest day today, drizzle and the like but that didn't stop us. After we pulled up I realised I had been here before so gave the kids the GPS and sent them off to find it. It's only fair! They didn't take very long at all to get it, but there was a lot of traffic on the road, heading south for new year, so we had to wait to retrieve it. The cache was nice and dry inside and there was plenty of room in the logbook.

Checked today and everything is ok

Found on our last day of our wanaka visit. It was such a lovely day we decided to head Off on a walk from the outlet camp to waterfall creak for the morning. Lots of tourists about today so this was the only cache I was able to grab. This still took ages before the coast was clear. After grabbing it and moving to a safe spot, I discovered I had lost my pen so I was unable to sign the log sorry. I have taken a couple of photos for proof. Inside there was plenty of room to sign and it was nice and dry. Thanks for the cache, the roaming haywards.

Still moving around the central area on our family holiday. We have made it to Wanaka now for christmas. A nice little walk along the lake trying to walk off christmas lunch. Beautiful weather to come looking for caches but was a little tricky with the amount of muggles around. Luckly most of them were interested in looking towards the lake and not towards me. This one was found quickly which was good as the window for getting in and grabbing it was small. the log book was nice and dry and in good condition. lovely spot fora hide with some top views. Thanks for the cache, have a good christmas, The Roaming Haywards

Traveling from Balclutha to Haast for a pre christmas holiday and stopped for lunch just down the road. Although not a geocaching holiday, thought this was too good to miss so took off for a small walk. Lovely area without too many sandflys at this stage. its a very interesting bridge and lovely view from it. the cache was found without any issues. inside the log book was dry with plenty of room in it, there was also a few toys for swapping. After logging, i carried on along the track and gown into the gourge which was cool, very slippery though so care is needed. Thanks for taking the time placing this cache, The Roaming Haywards

On a pre christmas holiday with the family from balclutha. decided to go for a drive from hannahs beach down to her for a look around and grap a bonus cache. always good to pich up different types. after being eaten alive by sandflys reading the infomation boards i finally got the infomation needed to complete this one. Lovely view looking down from the shelter down the jetty. we also did the wounderful bush walk down to the sea. Well worth the trip, nice place for lunch. on the way back we checked out the dolphins and a seal, apparently we just missed a large sting ray swimming under the jetty. on the way back had a swim at the beach. sadly the fish and chip shop was closed. thank you for a lovely cache, emailing the answers now, cheers The Roaming Haywards.

It was such a lovely day today, far too nice to be stuck around the house so we decided to drag the kids out to the beach. it would be a shame not to use the opportunity to grab a quick cache at the same time. There is a very good parking area about 200m past the coordinates and the walk back along the road is good. Plenty of room off to the side away from cars. The cache its self was very easy to find, the pictures give the game away! As you would expect, the log book was new and nice and dry. Stunning place for a good cache, Thanks for the upkeep, the roaming haywards.

We spent the morning out and about taking a cruise with the kids. So we decided to stop and get this cache as we were passing. This was a nice and easy park and grab with a good area to stop the car. The cache was nice and dry inside and had plenty of room to record. Thanks for the cache, the roaming haywards.

Well finally after a number of attempts, i have managed to log this one. i took the day off today to try and get a few "spring" photographs and thought i would try my luck down this way. we have tried a couple of times now but it has been a fruitless task. it was a lovely walk along the track in some beautiful sunshine. there were a couple of whitebaiters around so i had to be a little sneaky. got to be a little careful here though as they get quite upset if they thing your messing with there nets. a nice easy find this time with the cache being nice and dry with plenty of room in the logbook. Thanks for the cache, The Roaming Haywards.

Out and about in Dunedin today and had a bit of time to kill before the car was ready. So I decided to have a hunt for a couple of caches in the gardens and perhaps get some photos at the same time. This cache was the closest to the car so I figured it would be a good place to start. Perhaps not my best move as I’m wearing my work trousers and shoes. It wasn’t long before the mud made a bit of a mess of these. Never mind though, the hunt goes on! This one took a while to locate and I probably would have given up if I didn’t have so much tile. The i phone was all but useless under the canopy of trees. In the end I found it by trial and error. Nice clue by the way! The cache was a little damp but the waterproof paper was good. Plenty of room inn the logbook for signing. Thanks for the cache and well done on your first effort. The roaming Hayward’s. (TRH)

Out and about in Dunedin today and had a bit of time to kill before the car was ready. So I decided to have a hunt for a couple of caches in the gardens and perhaps get some photos at the same time. After a nice wee walk, I decided to just grab this one on my way back. After a lot of wandering around and waiting for people to move on I finally found myself in about the right place. Again the I phone was about as much use as a chocolate teapot and the rest of the hunt was by eye. After translating the clue, the search became a lot easer and it didn’t take too long to find. Thanks for the effort, The Roaming Haywards.
