Dipping a Travel Bug for mileage

Well a dream developed into a goal then a plan and finally a reality. I drove from Washington State and came in the from the north. I wanted to visit Pete's Hole to the south so on I went and spent the night. Coming back I drove up Black Canyon and was really grateful to have a vehicle with clearance; Miller Flat Road is a piece of cake in comparison.

I meandered up to the hide swapped some travelers and pondered how much geocaching has evolved. I like the original style of locations rather than numbers. Thanks for keeping this oldie alive; i can relate - old but still alive.

All the way from Washington State to find one of the remaining early geocaches. Interesting to see a green desert with all of the spring growth. Thanks for the hide!

I've been watching this hide as a reminder to get it done. I little nudge showed up so I loaded up Flyingdogs and the 5-pack for the trip. The avalanche debris near the trailhead is very impressive as is the rest of the storm damage.

All in all the hike was uneventful, just a pleasure to be out in the mountains. I found the hide and swapped coins, I got the better deal Wink

I signed the logbook and we then wandered around to explore the area. Not much left compared to the photos I found in the book by Philip R. Woodhouse.

Thanks for the effort required to keep this vintage hide alive.
