Logs for ryancknight
04-Jul-16
Did on our last day in New Zealand. The kids really enjoyed the park nearby.
02-Jul-16
Second attempt at this one was a success. Not sure if it is my gps or the canopy that doesn't allow for a good signal, but I mainly did this by the hint. Excellent cache enclosure.
01-Jul-16
Great hike for a Saturday morning. The kids loved the Lucy they traded for a blue whale. Finished up with some cockle digging.

29-Jun-16
Found this one after making our own personal hot tubs on the beach.
24-Jun-16
This one definitely wins most unique cache we have ever done. Almost didn't find it as we were in the wrong part of the library.
Just happened to stop here for our lunch break between Wellington and Napier. Didn't even have my gps just had a hunch that there had to be a cache in this ideal location.

15-Jun-16
We've been to this park a few times, but never did the cache. I am impressed with the log sheet (very organized).
13-Jun-16
We found this one after the kids recreated the Gandalf (Maya) and Frodo (Sophie) exit of the arch Rivendell.
Found this while doing the swing bridge loop. The rata trees are so impressive especially with all the epiphytes living on them. Even managed to fit a travel bug in it for friends from Canada.
09-Jun-16
Great cache after a visit to the Moera Library. The kids were excited to see a flock of "Canada" geese in New Zealand. I agree with one of the previous comments: No need for tweezers, just bring kids with little fingers. We have done a few of these types of caches, but this was truly unique.
07-Jun-16
Great hiding spot. Not sure if it my gps or if the coordinates are a little off, but it took me noticing something out of the ordinary to find this one.
14-May-16
We love these types of caches. Haven't found one like this before though, very unique. Believe it or not we managed to leave a trackable. So come get Rupert the Rooster and add some miles to him in New Zealand. We found him in Australia and thought he needed to explore a "new" country.
12-May-16
One last geocache in Maleny before we head off to New Zealand. No target marking on the skin, so I think I am tick-free.
11-May-16
Got a little lost looking for this one, but that isn't always a bad thing when you are in an amazing rainforest. I figured with the size of this cache that it would have a pen or pencil, but it looks like the contents are a little rundown (so I couldn't write in the soggy log).
06-May-16
Very clever cache. We haven't found one like this one before. In fact we were sure of the spot and gave up, only to try again and realize we had indeed found it. Not sure if this one has to get moved though as I believe it is now part of a restoration section of the beach.
24-Apr-16
Great hike in the rainforest before finding this one. World's greatest tour guide Jonah found us a pademelon, a snake (carpet python is our guess) and lots of bats.
23-Apr-16
Beautiful day for the beach and some geocaching. We liked the hint, too bad there is no boat to go with it anymore.
The "brave" Knights of Canada found this one, greatly due to Maya the Monkey. The kids even found some great sea slugs and sea cucumbers on the way. Overhead were skydivers and in the ocean so many kite surfers. Excellent beach day.

20-Apr-16
Found this one during our Eumundi Market visit. I imagine this garden area must look a little different in the spring and summer compared to now.
18-Apr-16
Our lunch break at Noosa included finding this cache. Dropped off a geocoin for friends in Canada and picked up a trackable (GEGPR0) that needs some repair work, so we will see what we can do.
16-Apr-16
Found this one while the kids were playing at the library park. Definitely could use a new container. Look out for the frilled lizards. No platypus spotting yet.
15-Apr-16
Found this one with our home exchange friends Jonah and Dennis while staying in Maleny. It was their first cache and I think it won't be their last.
Scored some free wi-fi at the local library and realized this geocache was too close not to do. Maya was the finder as I was too tall for this one.
02-Apr-16
Doing a home exchange in Milton, NSW and used a cooler day to do some geocaching. Took the advice of low tide but still had some trouble. Climbed a bunch and finally found it. We left a geocoin for Canadian friends of ours so move it around.
26-Mar-16
I got this one done solo to continue the run of putting one of our Canadian friend's geocoins in to each of the states of Australia. Great day at the beach with Glo-Ann and the family.
20-Mar-16
The girls were convinced this one would be in the washroom. Took us longer than it should have.
No mirror required when you are traveling with little hands. Maya got this one with no problem.
Got this one on the way back from visiting Morgan's beach. The kids loved the cemetery, plus we saw a Kookaburra.
19-Mar-16
Found this one after a great afternoon of finding rock crabs at the near by beach.
17-Mar-16
Took a little searching but found it in end. Great history lesson about the old school house for the girls.
Found this one along with a bunch of sheep. Didn't have a pen so couldn't write in the log. No trinkets to be found.
16-Mar-16
Found this one on our 2nd day in Normanville. Dropped off a Canadian friend's Tapir coin, please move it around for us.
08-Mar-16
Found this one while scoping out the marina, what a beautiful area. It was a big day today as we got this cache done before heading to PMH to pick up Sophie from the hospital. We are a lucky bunch to get to hang out for so long in Sorrento visiting friends that have really bailed us Canadians out. Aussies are awesome.
28-Feb-16
Took some time. We were trolls under the bridge at one point. We almost gave up, but found it in the end. We made it easier for the next geocachers as the "option" was a tricky one in terms of the coordinates.
27-Feb-16
Took a morning walk for this one. I would agree with the comment below about the coordinates being a little off, plus it looks like the metal drum has been cleaned up, as it is no where to be found. Maya picked up a humpback whale trinket to make up for us being here in the off season of whale watching, not quite as good as the real thing.
19-Feb-16
Looks like a couple Canadians were following each other geocaching today. Unfortunately we were second and dropped off the travel bug they were looking for. Found this bug in Canada, it came from Greenland, and we managed to get it to the UAE and then finally Australia. So help us put some more miles on it, it is already half way around the world. We also dropped off a travel coin for our Barrie, Ontario friends so move it along also.
Took the kids for a hike around the lighthouse and then finished off with the cache. Traded a Canadian coin for a Lighthouse coin seems like a fair trade.
One of two found today on a tour away from our home exchange holiday house. What a beautiful beach, next time I have to bring an alcoholic beverage.
