Yay! Took a bit of scrambling but finally found it. Lots of mozzies for company!

This cache has been muggled. I went for a look today and a search of the surrounding bush turned up the log book and a ps2 game cover. I will not be replacing this cache but it is still a worthwhile site to visit to take in some of the history of Mount Sugarloaf No.1 Colliery.

[My family and I spent the weekend at Ferndale park and when it was time to leave, we decided to stop somewhere for lunch on the way home.
My cousin's husband suggested this spot. He had no idea where the cache itself was located but showed me roughly where it was on my laptop running oziexplorer with festymaps.
It looked and sounded very familiar so we decided to drop in on the way home.
We came in from the west via] black knob rd [and then ]33-1 trail[ which joined up with ]cabbage tree rd. 33-1[ is very overgrown and I got several new scratches to the duco. I also had to remove 2 fallen trees so we could get through.
As we drove towards GZ I kept thinking how familiar the track looked and when we arrived and saw the log bridge I realised that I had been there before. Dad took us there in the family Kombi many years ago!
I didn't find the cache (didn't know where to look) but we had a nice little picnic on the river. The kids and I had a swim after lunch and the water was absolutely freezing. Top spot for a cache!

Is it just me or does this page not display correctly??]

Thanks to CJB for the maintenance work!!

I went up there today with a new container, something a bit more substantial, and rat proof, than an ice cream container. To cut a long story short, the new container didn't fit in the hole!
I've now taken some measurements and will fix it up in the next couple of weeks. If you come in from the south it's a bit easier on the family land cruiser:)

I went to check out this cache after my Brother told me there was one in 'Jewboys'. This was a popular rest area in my motorbike riding days.
I dislike trespassing but I didn't see any signs to tell me it was private property;)
The creek was flowing freely, thanks to the big storm the other night, and the waterfall was the best I've seen it for a while.
This creek actually dried up a few years ago. It only started flowing again after the new coal mine further up the valley started to operate.......The tracks in are fairly chopped up thanks to all the recent rain.
I took the bottle opener and replaced it with a teaspoon that was found in another section of the cave. I'll put the bottle opener in the next cache I find. This could be addictive!!!
Just a note on the dam. It was drained several years ago after a tipoff to police that it was where a murdered girl's body was dumped. They only found eels......
They left the slip plate out when they were finished and the dam remained dry for a couple of years. Thankfully someone eventually replaced the slip plate and the dam filled back up. It's a terrible shame about the Burrenjim Bunny disappearing too....
Great cache in a great spot. Sorry to prattle on for so long.
