Logs for thegirlsfromPA
26-Oct-21
On the way to Pt Reyes and stopping for a delightful hike. We took care to watch for snakes in our search and capitalized in photos in the gallery. I think there may be another container out of reach but we only retrieved this one. Thanks for the oldie!

We are here to get the Ape cache, which was missing the last two times that we were anywhere nearby. It's a beautiful day with mild temperatures and we found (barely) a decent place to park an SUV. The road us pretty rutted. The trail up was very nice! We certainly enjoyed our visit. Thanks for putting Humpty Dumpty back on the wall again!

We are on a road trip. Leelelee, Sweetpea1953, BearTerritory and thegirlsfromPA having great fun.
Nice to get out and stretch our legs, even for the gal on crutches. Took a minute of searching. Nicely done.
Thanks for the fun.

I am on a 5 day, 10 state road trip with BearTerritory, Leelelee and Sweetpea1953. We girls are on a mission which included visiting this spot as it is a part of geocaching history.
Heading west from here. Thanks for the fun and for keeping the oldies going.

We originally posted our interest on 7/19/15, although we had been aware of this cache for awhile. We watched our geo friends get picked up by teams but, then it seemed as though world wide interest waned.
We were first contacted by Friscalo to join a team and then we waited dome more.
During the summer, we were contacted by ravestorm join in the hunt and fulfill the California portion. When our leg if the trip came, we completed it quickly and then sat back in our armchair to await the final travelers to fulfill their parts.
Thanks to all of the members of DreamTeamWorld for contributing to this fine activity:

We had a layover in Miami so, BearTerritory rented the car and we piled in with sweetpea1953 and Kanchan. This was a very interesting spot! The neighborhood was pretty nice, too. Thanks for the virtual. We submitted the information for the whole crew.

We were sorry that we hadn't gotten ourselves sorted out enough to join the troop that visited a few days ago. It would have been fun to meet some local cachers. We requested a permit online on Sunday and it came through on Monday morning. Of course, it had rained on Monday and we decided to wait a couple of days before trying to drive out in out rented Passat.
The combination lock worked just fine as did the Passat although I admit to crawling along to be extra careful not to get a flat. No trouble at all with the clearance.
We made it to the suggested parking spot and then worked our way to the cache, stopping frequently to pick those stabbing little things out of our socks. Managed to avoid the cacti at least. Lots of tracks in the sand.
We were rewarded with a nice large ammo can and some shade to sit in. We will move along some of the travelers. ..left some trinkets since we accidentally left the travel bugs that we had in the car. Dang it.
Thanks for the oldie! Guess that if this is a 1.5 terrain, a 5 terrain from 2000 would have killed the two of us middle aged gals from Palo Alto California.

Found it easily with Kanchan, Bear Territory, Rachell and Leelelee. Woo hoo! Another oldie.

Once again, it paid to read the description carefully. With a break in the traffic, the cache was ours.
