Logs for tleu

19-Nov-18
I felt a little nervous about getting to this cache since one cacher fairly recently reported that it took them 2.5 hours to get to it and back. I read a number of others logs and hoped that I was prepared. We parked at N41 59.949 W080 00.204, which put us just 3/10 of a mile from the cache. We donned our rubber boots and orange hats and forged through the snow easily. We got to within about 100 feet of the cache and turned into the woods at the highest point we saw. The deepest the water got was mid-shin deep, but mostly it was just mushy mud. We never did see the trails other people mentioned, but maybe the landscape was changed by the snow. We easily found the historic cache and swapped TBs. Back to the car we headed, enjoying the snow and the pretty scenery. Round trip, it took us 20 minutes. Glorious! TFTC

Dropped two TBs into this historic cache, however, they only stayed there during our visit since my geofriend picked them right back up again. She will log them out of the cache when she returns home from her travels.
The FTF TB is no longer in the cache.

We made our way out of the city and out into rural Texas, enjoying the countryside. We saw this hilarious sign (picture below) on our way and also a neat cowboy with his horse statue at the foot of a cross on top of a farm hill. We drove most of the way to the cache site, passing cyclists on the way. The path to GZ is clear and easy to follow. We made it to the top easily and the cache was a wonderful reward and easy to find. No TBs today. So glad for this fun adventure and for the excitement of finding such an old cache. Favorite for the oldie and the nice location. TFTH

What a wonderful treat this cache is! We went to the ranger station and logged in. The trail is in great shape and we didn't encounter any water today, though we did tote our boots in just in case. We saw lots of pretty Spring flowers and heard lots of birds around us. The ammo can is a treat as well, and I swapped out TBs. What a joy it is to find Florida's oldest geocache and to have the enjoyment of a nice hike to get there! TFTC

We arrived near GZ, having an interesting discussion about how land in Norway is all accessible for every citizen, and there are no No Trespassing signs. Litigation is very different there than here. We peeked inside the rusted sheds and then made our way to general GZ, finding the container without difficulty. Look at the age of this cache! So glad to be adding this one to my list, and TFTH

My geobuddy and I just completed a road trip that brought me within two of completing that tough-to-get Jasmer challenge. As so many others have commented, I used this one to complete the momentous event, so after making the find and generally whooping and hollering a bit, we all celebrated with cupcakes! There were no TBs in the cache. I left a special geocoin from Groundspeak; seemed like an appropriate place to leave it. Tftc

We've seen lots of this type of hide, but never just this type of structure. Unusual nearby parking spaces; I wonder if they are ever needed by anyone other than cachers? Wink TFTC
