Logs for wingedbeing
19-Mar-12
Tried this yesterday afternoon, but there were too many people around, and then it started raining. 7 o'clock this morning was the go, but I was on the verge of giving up when I finally spotted the cache. My first one of this kind! TFTC ^ö^
18-Mar-12
Found on a weekend trip to visit a friend in Bardon. Excellent container! TFTC ^ö^
17-Mar-12
My first Brisbane cache, found while staying with friends up the road. Neat! TFTC ^ö^
10-Mar-12
Interesting hiding spot! Mputland and I found this on a little detour when mountainbiking at the tip tracks. Quite a worn path leading to it. TFTC ^ö^
01-Mar-12
This cache has been muggled! It was sitting by the tree next to one of the gates when we got there, and we left it there.
29-Feb-12
Well... mputland and I thought this might be an easy find on our leap-day trail of cache collecting, but not so. Is it still there? Given what previous logs have said about it and the horrendous amount of rain we've been having lately (visible flood signs in the cache area) this cache may have disappeared??!! Or were we just too wimpy in avoiding extensive lantana bashing?? ^ö^
This was the ninth and final cache mputland and I scored on our leap-day excursion. Easy find because it's been muggled and was laying open next to one of the farm gates. TFTC ^ö^
Leap-day cache number four. Another wet one. Much greenery on the roadside, so the track(s) we made to find it are quite obvious. TFTC ^ö^
The fifth find on the leap-day trail with mputland. We were both absolutely covered in farmers-friends after logging this easy find. Good dry hiding spot!Left toy car. TFTC ^ö^
Mputland and I decided to do a swag of leap-day cahes, and this was our first one. We found the very distinct and quite clever hide, but alas, it was empty possibly due to the horrendous weather of late. There was quite a wad of prickly wine and shrubs under the hiding place, so it was a bit hard to look thouroughly for the lost items. The only thing we found was a label with the name of the cache, so this one will need some attention. ^ö^
Leap-day cache number 3 for mputland and I. This one was quite wet. Left a toy scorpio. TFTC ^ö^
Number six for the leap-day cache hunt with mputland. Despite missing it's container, this log is the driest we've come across in a while. TFTC ^ö^
Mputland and I went to find this on our leap-day cache expedition. This one had us stumped, however. Is it still there? Very recently there has been a kind-of cattle enclosure built on the site, and therefore the ground has been quite disturbed. Will keep an eye on the log to see if someone else finds it. Good luck! ^ö^
The second leap-day cache mputland and I logged. Took smurf and left a Squinkie.
TFTC ^ö^
TFTC ^ö^
Leap-day cache number seven with mputland. A lovely big black snake crossed the road on our way to the tank. Apparently the primary school down the hill has a massive problem with these slithering sweeties entering the buildings. The cache was an easy find. Took the playing cards and left a bracelet. TFTC ^ö^
25-Feb-12
Mputland and I got this cache on our very steamy and hot Saturday mountainbike ride in the Tip area. I remember seeing the jump years ago when it was still in its prime, and wondering who would be so brave/daring/stupid/insane (choose your own adjective) as to attempt it... But of course, I'm a bit of a wimp! Mputland was very impressed with the tin. TFTC ^ö^
16-Feb-12
Second one today that we didn't find. Looks like a flood has been through the place recently, so pehaps it's been washed away. Or maybe we just didn't look in the right place?? ^ö^
Interesting place, but couldn't find the cache. A bit infuriating as previously people have found it easily... The GPS (Garmin Oregon) was very jumpy, so maybe that was the problem. ^o^
15-Feb-12
Stayed in Parramatta with MPUTLAND as we were going to the Roger Waters "The Wall" concert and spent the afternoon chasing some local caches. Liked this one very much - a lot of stealth needed to retrieve the container with mugglers galore in the vincinity. Left toy spider. TFTC ^o^
Stayed in Parramatta with MPUTLAND as we were going to the Roger Waters "The Wall" concert, spending the afternoon chasing some local caches. Loved this one - such a sneaky way of hiding it. I'll allocate one of my hard earned favourite points to this one! TFTC ^ö^
Stayed in Parramatta with MPUTLAND as we were going to the Roger Waters "The Wall" concert, spending the afternoon chasing some local caches. I'm so glad we came to this one as it made me discover areas (the lovely riverbank) and attractions in Sydney that I wasn't previous aware of. The cache was an easy find, but the log was a bit fiddly to get out of the container - make personal note not to forget the tweezers in the future! TFTC ^ö^
11-Feb-12
Found with mputland. Clever container! Needed tweezers to get the log out. TFTC ^ö^
Didn't read the logs before going with mputland, and so can only confirm previous comments about the cache being muggled. Excellent view thought. ^O^
This one was a bit tricky to log - very, very wet around the sign and muggly cars driving past all the time. Mputland and I did the "tourists taking photos" thing while surreptiously checking for the cache. TFTC ^ö^
04-Feb-12
What a great walk! I've long wondered what it is like up on Kiwarric mountain as I look towards it most days. Now I know. Beautiful nature with grass-trees on the slopes and abundant wildlife - snakes(x2), a koala and numerous very determined leeches (at least one successful). Driving into the suggested parking spot was a bit hairy for 'Ruby-too', my trusted Subaru Forester, as the recent rain has destroyed much of the road. The path up to the trig was easy to find, but there is now a new gate just as you enter the paddock to follow the trail. Mputland and I had no problems locating the cache, BUT it is in total disrepair; burnt, rusted out and waterlogged. We couldn't record our visit in the book and nothing in the cookie can is of any use any more. Thanks anyway, Grahame, for a great morning out. ^o^
30-Jan-12
Another easy find with mputland. The three containers makes the cache almost too visible. The cammo one supplied by Browngang is a beauty! TFTC ^o^
Mputland and I were going to grab the Bootawa TB Tank cache but found that the road had been cut off due to a bridge-replacement, so we went and got this one instead. Our fifth and final stringy cache this afternoon. In hindsight we should have done them on the mountainbikes rather then driving - the roads provide a great ride and your caches make nice stops.
Found this with mputland, and thanks for the local history lesson, stringy. Rather painful experience due to the previously mentioned lantana, but also because of an attack by giant ants apparently determined to have me for dinner. Ouch!! Our first visit to a Library Cache, so we came unprepared with nothing to swap. There is a small hole in one corner of the container - possibly nibbled by a rodent-type-animal - but everything is still nice and dry.
Mputland and I have tried for this one twice now with no luck.
Is it still there??!! The GPS seems to jump around a bit, but we have had no problems finding a multitude of other caches that stringy has sprinkled in the area. Seems like the council mowing team has deposited a lot of grass cuttings and other debris around the tree we think is the right one. Maybe they've picked up the cache. ^o^

4th stringy cache today with mputland. Again, as a local i appreciate the history lessons, stringy. The lid was very loose on the very visible blue crinkles container, and it looks like someone has jumped on it. Time for a replacement perhaps? TFTC
Visited this cache with mputland. You're right, stringy, excellent view! The log is pretty wet and needs some TLC.
29-Jan-12
Logging this again as found as I'm not sure how I was suposed to log this both as a find and as needing action...
27-Jan-12
Nice one! I've been up on North Brother loads of times, but never seen this lookout. The cache was easily found together with MPUTLAND. The logbook is getting full and could do with being replaced. Left a Thai paperclip/took nothing. TFTC
26-Jan-12
The Burrell Creek Troll is fit and well and have survived the bridge rebuild as well as having been found by the bridge repair crew who have left a note in the log and an "oxy cleaner" (!!??). MPUTLAND and I found this on our first day of geocahing, and I was thrilled to find out about it as I'm a local and walk my dog over the bridge most days! TFTC
My/our very first geocache!!! (Well, not quite true, found one on top of Big Nellie accidentally a few years ago...) This one was found together with MPUTLAND after about 15 minutes of looking and beginning to give up... TFTC
Found with mputland on our first day of geocaching in our local area.
Easy find! TFTC
