Description

Sydney / NSW Geocachers' New Year Picnic / BBQ

A great way to start the geocaching year...

The Leek family would like to invite all fellow NSW geocachers (past, present & future) to spend the afternoon (11am-5pm) at one of our favourite spots. We'd very much like to meet all the main players in the area, so please make a point of entering this date in your diaries now...

If you haven't already done so, please place a log on this cache to indicate that you will be coming... Please also set a watch on the cache so that you receive any vital last-minute instructions

This is the Ideol opportunity to get together with your fellow geocachers for a chat and some good food to start the New Year in style... Bring your stubby holders as there will be drink on hand as well...

Cache Information

  • You won't need to be a Guru to reach this location, but if you can manage to fight your way through the Tangle of people here, the co-ordinates supplied should bring you to the shade of our favourite tree at this beach location. If you happen to have a Garmin, it'll be the nearest tree to the point that your GPS leads you to :-)
  • The location has much to offer including: shade, BBQs (but we'll bring our own), kiddies playground, safe swimming, showers (to wash your SandyFeet), toilets and snack kiosk
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash
  • The event will be an informal family occasion - but we may cause some Chaos and generally Monkey around and there may be a few surprises to challenge the Mind...
  • All rubbish will be cleared up in order to be Ecologically sound and to leave nothing for the local Geckos and (Bush)Rats to devour...
  • Keep your eyes on the water as Pirates may invade our jolly gathering...
  • No need for Ropes or to Push any Bush at this location as it is quite flat and not overgrown
  • My apologies to the geocachers whose names I couldn't work into the list above... Too hard for now, but inspiration may hit me later... All are welcome, even if you haven't been mentioned above...
  • Further details will be added as time drags on...
    • The Ideology Time-Trial
During the picnic, there will be a multi-waypoint time trial cache.

This time-trial has been sponsored by Ideology and they have kindly agreed to donate 3 geocaching gear prizes for the winning teams..

Keep watching this cache for instructions, as you may need to complete some tasks before turning up at the picnic…

The final cache will remain in place and will be added to the secondary site after the picnic ends, so you will be able to log it after the Picnic...

Please let us know if you'll be coming by leaving a note below...

Without a doubt, the best cache event turn out so far!

I guess we Monkeys can log this as a find, although without saying too much, I was part of the team who took a lot longer than the others to get the time trial done. LOL!

but one of the other monkeys was on the wining team, so i guess it averages out.

Mary & David would like to congratulate Leek on a superb afternoon, and thank the many NSW caching teams who welcomed us and showed us such hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was great to meet so many of you. Hope we can return the favour when you make your way south of the border.

Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to Leek for organising a great day, the Loon family enjoyed themselves. The time trial was a load of fun and mixing up the teams worked well. It was great to meet some new players to the game as well as catch up with all the regulars. Thanks to the Odlid Kids for playing with The Loonette. Also a big thanks to everyone who voted for Team Choas' caches in the 2002 Awards. We look forward to bringing you many more caching adventures. Big GrinBig Grin
