The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when travelling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual CO’s, the fantastic photo opportunities and sometimes finding places that even some locals don’t know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most CO’s take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. I love travelling this big land of ours. I love taking the roads less travelled seeing the sights, the amazing colours, the natural beauty. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. Dancing
I love the different coffee shops I find. I love every different thing I photograph. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. I enjoy taking my time and meandering around rather than going from one cache to the next and so on… The geocaches are a great bonus of my travels. It's amazing to see the country in the eyes of a Geocacher. Thank you for adding this cache to my real-life treasure hunt. I appreciate your efforts Salty Dog. Clapping

Suscoe was enjoying a walk this morning, stopped by here masked up and sanitised.
Thanks to Salty Dog for selecting this location, the ocean was so calm this morning, a perfect day to sail to Tassie is we were allowed to. ClappingClappingClappingClappingClappingClappingClapping

Today's walk took us right past here and this virtual let me know it was worth taking the short diversion. Dancing Unfortunately, the smokey haze from the recent fires hasn't enhanced the view any Sad but the walking group still enjoyed its magnificence before heading off. Alas, they took off a little too quickly so I had to do the 'selfie' shot with 2upoj and The Rip at 11:55 before I too continued on our way.

Mant thanks Salty Dog.

You are correct, it is a ripper view.
Who would have thought it? Tucked away as it was with no indication at all.
Muggle Hubby meanwhile was finding the GC cache nearby called Santa Casa
Thanks for bringing us here Salty Dog, three for the price of one with the lifesaving shed for a Locationless also.

Photo to follow when I return home

My maps showed a path to gz that doesn't exist any more but we soon found the new track. It really is a nice hidden little gem of a lookout.
Thanks Salty Dog for showing it to me.

On our way from Philip Island to Geelong via the ferry and we stopped here to eat our afternoon tea. Was surprised to see folks swimming, and another couple of older folks in wet suits also giving it a go.

A beautiful day for a ripper view !
Thoughtful of someone to place a seat here, lest you stray too close to the edge and tumble down !
Thanks for the cache, Salty Dog ! Very Happy

Yes, it is a great view of Port Phillip Heads and The Rip. Today conditions were quite calm but evidence of the rip was still very visible. We got a bonus today - a largish ship was coming through the rip to sail up the bay. Two photos have been adde to the Gallery: the first is of one of us at a familiar sign at the suggested picnic point with a great view in the background; the other is a closer photo of the ship heading up the bay.

Down in Queenscliff for some geocaching events, I dropped in to have a look at this one and after making the mistake of going down to the beach I soon spotted the correct track past a big pile of cut-down scrub. The view was indeed a Ripper and a great little place to sit and watch the cargo ship and pilot vessel go by. TFTC

Great little tucked away spot here. What a lovely surprise. Immediately started inspecting under the bench looking for eclipse tins and then realised it was a virtual. Oops. A quick run back to the car for a camera and I was sorted.

TFTC - our final for our little holiday and a great way to finish up!

259. Got to the point had a look at the view and the witty comment written across the sign and then started to look for a box of some sort. D'oh and a slap upside my own head. Photo taken and submitted as per normal requirements.

TFTC and the pearler.

A great location with a wonderful view, similar to others along this part of the bay but very private. Wink
We recall staying in a motel type unit in Henty Steet when our eldest child was very young. The units have since been demolished to make way for the carpark.
There doesn't seem to be a need to provide any visual proof of attendance for this cache, but we've added a photograph anyway.

We stopped here at night for a great view over the bay. We would never have found this spot if you hadn't shown us.

WOW! Great view, this was a wonderful lookout spot. We where there at about 2:30pm and we saw a whale splashing around in the bay.

Found at 14.35 by Almost_there and Been_there. Fourth of 4 for the day on fantastic walk around Queenscliff on a perfect spring day. And what a spot - we certainly managed to save the best till last. And what made it even more perfect was that Been_there, with her keen young eyes, spotted a whale cruising past about 100 metres off shore. We couldn't believe our luck - we just sat there for about 30 minutes watching it. And of all the days to leave the camera at home - yep, that's right, we didn't get a photo!!!!

Great place. Thanks Salty Dog for sharing it with us.

Cheers Salty Dog. Thanks for bringing us here.

Found by Roma and Max.
The sea was a mill pond with the sun setting and night closing in provided us with a "Ripper View". A group of scuba divers on the nearby beach doing what divers do, perhaps enjoying the view!

Found this morning at 10.55am by Mr Emu and kids. What a great little viewpoint! It was a sunny day that was very hot all over the state, but the onshore breeze made this location a very pleasant temperature. Thanks for a nice side-trip Salty Dog!

RedPaw64 found Ripper View at 11.05 am on 19/11/06. This was a great view. I took the time to relax in the area for a short time. Was a lovely sunny day with calm seas (see picture). Good for the fishermen, better for Geocachers looking for such a nice area.

Thanks Salty Dog

Found? at 11.00pm GAFF1. We had a bit of trouble finding the right path to GZ in the dark, but after a couple of goes, we were right on the spot. Didn't know what to do once we got there, especially as it was as dark as the proverbial, so we took a picture. In the distance there should have been some bright lights which we thought were squid boats, but unfortunately the photo didn't pick that detail up. Thanks Salty Dog.

A very enjoyable location. Quite breezy up here today, but nevertheless a stunning view across the heads and the rip.
While I was there I also enjoyed watching a ship coming through the heads (see picture).
Thanks to Salty Dog for the opportunity to enjoy this normally unseen location.

Mary & David were there at 1015. The downpour last night certainly refreshed the vegetation. Teatree flowering profusely. Glorious views despite the clouds and biting wind. Thanks to Salty Dog for showing this place to us. David's photo posted in the gallery here.
