Description

A travelling container designed to gather Australian Geocacher signature items from all over Australia.

One of the fascinations of caching is the many signature items you find. Unfortunately, if you cache in one area, or even in one state, it is likely that you will only see a selected few of these items that numerous Geocachers have selected to "leave their mark".

This Trove is designed to travel Australia (i.e. it does not leave Australia) and be the receptacle of Australian Geocacher signature items. The intention is to give other cachers interested in these objects the opportunity to sift through the (hopefully) many trinkets deposited by fellow cachers.

If you wish to "find" this cache just add to the collection of signature items. If you do not have a signature item, improvise - maybe just drop in a personal note, but be prepared, there is no log in this container.

Note that you cannot remove or swap items.

This Trove can also be tracked as a TB on geocaching.com.

Please don't leave this in a cache, pass it on in person to another geocacher at an event or other gathering.

Please log the new coordinates when placing the Trove in a new location.

It's back Very Happy !! We forgot to log this cache when we got it and passed it on to another cacher who lost it in the bottom of their wardrobe for quite some time, after a friendly reminder from GURipper we now have it back in our hands and ready to move on. Please message me if you would like to take this to an event and I will arrange delivery anywhere around Launceston. Alternatively, if you are travelling on the Spirit of Tasmania to the big Island after the 8/1/13, I can have it down there for a trip North (I work on the ship). Thank you to whoever it was that brought this cache to the Geosport event. I was hoping it would come north! I love signature items and was very interested to look through the things that had been collected. I added my own pathtag and calling cards; it's an honour to be part of this awesome piece of geocaching history. I hope it continues to travel from cacher to cacher for a long time to come. Thanks! Very Happy

Great ides for a cache and love the contents. I am in the rpocess of making a card for the log and when finished the cache will be made mobile again.
Thanks to Budge for passing it on and "thanks for breaking my arm with it!!" (Poetic Licence taken in this statement. Cheers; OldSaint.

Forgot to logs this as a find. Can I say I was impressed with the number of items, path tags, stickers, etc that were in the Trove. Actually the trove is getting quite full and my need to stop back to the owner at some stage for a refit out and clean out.

Again

Thanks for the cache

Hi

What a great idea for a movable cache. I am logging at my home coordinates so that the cache shows it location and movement.

I will place in one of my stickers and I have already organised to pass on the Trove to Old Saint

I don't know if he know's whats coming!!!!!

Snatched from Kaatka. I did think I had somewhere to put this until I saw the size, now however I have a very cunny plan and will have to scan the recent recipients to see if my prey has already grabbed this before.

Very much enjoying looking through the collection and can't wait to show my jnr geos tomorrow.

LOVE the idea Clapping

We came across this cache at Intervening Days III in Melton. At first I wondered what an Ammo Tin was doing on the trackables table. Then, I was over the moon when I recognised it as a GCA cache that I had always wanted to find. Very Happy
The young daughter and I browsed the very interesting contents before leaving one of our signature team pathtags.

Thanks for organising this cache all those years ago. It's great to catch up with a bit of the history of our rather new hobby every now and then.

We had the pleasure, or should that be the honor of picking this cache up at the Yackandanda event over the weekend.

Being one of the few Goecachers who was around when the AGSIT was created and knew Grank, when he geocached, I'd like to share some thoughts on the original intent of this mobile cache. I know h'ed express the same request if he still followed these logs.

Grank had asked that it only be handed from one geocacher to another, if not at events then when you meet. Unfortunately the e cache listing does not make that clear. Sadly we cannot edit it in Granks absence. As this trove is becomming more and more valuable I'd personally like to ask that every geocacher who handles this cache try and pass it, in person, to another geocacher.
Leaving it out in the cold is only asking for such an excelent peice of geocaching history to be muggled.

What a way to brighten a trip for work into Brisbane. Found this one after a bit of scratching around. Have it in hand and will send it on it's way once I get back home. I can't believe how full it is of people giving a bit to tell a story. I'll update this log with the tag, as it is still in the boot of the work car Smile

Have been in this area before with Alkzura hunting a GC cache so we knew exactly where to park. We didn't move the cache but did leave a Tupperware pen. I have recently taken up the cult following and we felt it has become a part of Australian culture over the years hence it's inclusion (and it happened to be in my pocket Smile ).

19-Jun-10
Found today with NyletaM on our way past. As it had just come from the south and we were heading back south, we decided not to move this one one, but leave it where it is. We left a Tupperware pen as our signature item.

Now I feel guilty for claiming a find here in September of 2009. Not knowing exactly what to expect from my first GCA cache, I assumed (yes I know) that the very worthy position was part and parcel of the experience.

Must dot the tees etc. when it's possible to do so.

Maybe the found logs relate to GC13XB5 listed at the same coordinates. Totalube - if you are joining the group doing the 10 years run along Mt Nebo Road on Sunday, bring this cache along and we would be happy to rehide it for you.
