Description
A movie mystery cache...
Ripley's Cache
(note - above coordinates will give you an idea of the Brisbane area the cache is in - it is not the cache location!)
This is a movie puzzle cache with coordinates derived from the script of the 1986 film Aliens directed by James Cameron. Watch the film (preferably the Special Edition) and keep an ear out for the numbers in the dialogue given below, do the maths and find the cache! Long time fans may be able to do the clues from memory. Note: Aliens is rated M and contains "horror", and although I saw it in early high school and was instantly addicted, it might not be entirely kid friendly - you have been warned!
S27° Clue1.Clue2' E152° Clue3.Clue4'
Clue 1:
"Bishop, how much time?" When Ripley brings the injured Hicks back to the drop ship, how much time does he say? -- divide this number by 2, then add: "How long after we're declared overdue can we expect a rescue?" How long does Hicks reply?
Clue 2:
"How long was I out there?" How long was Ripley in hypersleep? -- take this number, then add: "This area is going to be a cloud of vapour the size of Nebraska." -- the number of minutes Bishop says before this happens, then take away: How many humans and humanoids make it off-planet at the end? After you have this number, stick a zero in front of it, and you've got your coordinate.
Clue 3:
"How many drops is this for you, Lieutenant?" -- take the number of Gorman's simulated drops, then add: ("How many combat drops?" -- the number of combat drops, multiplied by: "Lieutenant, what do those pulse rifles fire?" -- the size of the standard light armour piercing rounds.) Note for this clue - do the multiplication first, then add the simulated drop number.
Clue 4:
"We're on an express elevator to hell - going down!" -- the number contained in the planet's name, minus "I'm shocked. Was it an older model?" - the model number of the android with Ripley during the events in Alien. (the first part, leave off the "A2").
Extra info for finding the cache...
Go to GZ at the highest altitude (just imagine you're standing on a large reactor...), then descend to the next level (while pretending to be a marine, or humming "Attention: emergency, all personnel must evacuate immediately...). The cache is "a foot". Oh... and this is muggle central too - stealth required.

Logs
If the cache is there the owner can reactivate the cache by posting an Unarchived log against it.
I didn't find it.
Presume it has been muggled....
*static* Pull your team out Gorman...
*static* *gun fire* Apone... talk to me...
*static* They're gone! Do something!
We are sad to report the demise of Ripley's Cache. We shall attempt to engage a new colonial marine corps to replace it. Stay tuned..
Nothing was showing up on our motion scanners, so we made our way down to the lower level to commence our sweep. We came up empty-handed, but were able to be extracted without contact with any xenomorphs. Another glorious day in the Corps!
Will review the available intel before attempting this mission again.
Entering the ship I wandered up through an access chamber and into what looked like a vast storage area. It was completely empty though save for a couple of robots cleaning the deck.
Moving over to another access I had readings all over my motion detector, er, GPS. They were coming out of the walls :O
Ooh! Looky, a cache
TFTC, a very good themed urban cache chase.
