Description
Cache has been placed for some fun and exploration and to also encourage other cachers to another nearby cache GCJ7AP.
Above coords will take you to WPT1 where info can be found to take you to the actual cache. Here you should find a bison tube with the coords inside.
The cache will be found at S41 08.### E146 08.###
If you are vertically challenged(like myself) you may find it difficult but the views will be worth it. There are some large vertical drops beside wpt1...so be careful.
WPT1 ...is best accessed from western side....and if it's wet...the rocks may be slippery...so please be careful...especially for the younger brigade.
Access can be gained according to tides...but as always..take care...preferable with outgoing tide.
Cache is a black 200ml sistema with logbook and pencil only.
Enjoy!

Logs
Signed the log then headed back to the car hiding a moveable on the way back. TFTC
For us, today was all about the two (originally 5/5) events on the coast, that was the reason for our trip up. While we were up there we planned to find a few other caches to top up our meagre contribution to the States of the Nation Game. We managed a handful on the coast and one or two more on the Highlands Lakes Road, finding all but one (I need to check my cords on that one).
My apologies for the copy and paste log but if I have any hope of finishing and claiming some scavenges, it’s my only hope.
We found all containers in good condition and really enjoyed our time at the events this morning and our various finds during the rest of the day.
Thanks to the various cache owners of our finds today.
As you know I scaled the rocky point the hard way and was terrified as I crawled over the point to find the tag with the numbers on it.
I was happy to sit there and tell the others who were smarter and didn't get to the top what they needed to know.
Thank you for showing us an easier way down.
I eventually found the cache in the hands of other caches at the Goat Island Event.

We are currently doing a virtual trophy for verbosity, hence the long logs! We are enjoying participating in the States of the Nation games which are currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018.
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.
2yrs since last found...great effort.
Hey...another cache on Seagull...recently replaced...nice walk...great view over town.
Cheers ST.
It is really impressive atop Goat Island.
Loved it even more whilst on top and the big seagulls started dive bombing me.
The view are tremendous.
The off to find the cache-what an adventure that turned out to be.
Even had to get "serious" about it!
Finally located and signed the log at 1134hrs.
Tide was well out when I started the assault on this cache but got wet legs and feet (up to the knees) on the way back! STOP LAUGHING!!
Thanks for a great adventure.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
Went up to the top of the hill to look for the tag, but with no success after searching for 15 minutes (it's not a very "big" place). Really couldn't find a rock that was movable to get the tag from under.
Continued on to find the other cache on the island.
Maybe a check is in order - it hasn't been found for 40 weeks!
Hubby was also in his element
Many thanks for bringing us out here sirius
Is it possible that the coords are not there now? That or we are blind lol.
TFTC TNLS Woo!
The climb up the rock was great, awesome views from the top! Unfortunately the person who had been up there before us had left his lunch behind in a rather disgusting manner, which made it a little less pleasant. Anyway, after a bit of hunting, WP1 was found. Wrote down coords. Climbed back down to the beach and started searching for WP2. Something seemed fishy, in more than one sense, as WP2 seemed to be pointing into the ocean. Hmm. Didn't seem likely that Sirius would stick a cache out there. So I did the sensible thing and made Indy climb all the way back up the rock to check the coords, while I stayed on the beach. He came back down to inform me that, yep, one of the numbers was wrong. So, with correct coords and new hope, we clambered over the rocks once more in search of WP2. Reeeally wanted to find this one after the disappointment of the other Goat Island cache, which seemed to be missing.
Found something which seemed way too obvious to not be WP2. Was slightly dubious of the way down at first, seemed rather precarious, but thankfully I don't suffer the same phobia as some others, and the climb turned out to be less difficult than expected. Blindly hunted around at GZ until Indy came with a torch and found the cache. Hooray! Our first multi-cache find!
A great day out and I think we've thoroughly explored that island now (this time the cool bits, not the lichen).
GZ sure isn't for the vertically challenged but that's one of the reasons I try not to cache alone.
Thanks sirius I love a cache that's a bit of a challenge
Enjoyed it from start to finish. Red tag and I had glorious weather and both points were found easily.
Thanks for another good one sirius
Came over to Goat Island to get away from the Green Corps.
Started climbing and got close when all of a sudden the Green Corps are bounding through the bush and started climbing all over the hill like they are mountain goats.
Mungrels - ruining any chance of finding this or the other cache here. Not happy as I have now had my time wasted by these people.
However WP2 eluded me - However now I have read the clue I know where it is and I will return.
Thanks Guy's I'm off to buy my own GPS and really get into this. It was a great day out with the family.
I even managed to catch dinner on the way home. Fresh squid is unbeatable.
Had been working in the area for a while, and finally decided to down tools and go and find this cache during work time. Three of us walked out to the Island in our bright orange safety vests. Wasnt real keen on where the GPS was pointing to for WP1, but wasnt surprised either, it was where I thought it was going to tell me I had to go. I got most of the way up and had to take the Blundstones off and finish the climb in bare feet as the grip on the workboots was lousy. Got to the top and couldnt find anything, looked for about half an hour. I couldnt give up on the cache despite not having the coords because that would mean having to climb back up again. I noted Neribil had found the cache without coords, so I decided to climb down and explore the half of the island I hadnt previously and see if I could find a feature where the clue would be fitting. It took a little while but as soon as I discovered this feature I had a Bingo moment. Picked a path to it, poked around and came out with the cache - very satisfying. We had a clear sunny day, and really enjoyed the views, adventure, hunt, and diversion from work.
Thanks Sirius, another of your excellent caches ticked off the list.
Trundled over the edge and down to hide. Nice hide Sirius in awesome spot when sea is angry.
Thanks Sirius for our thrilling adventure.
The idea is to expose the person to the thing to which they are phobic to an overwhelming degree.
Im not sure if it works or not.
I have a fear of heights and got flooded tonight.
Maybe it has helped me, but I was way out of my comfort zone!
Great stuff Sirius, good hide at GZ.
I'll go to bed tonight feeling the flush of success as I have joined the select few that have "Acted the Goat"
I love goat island, and it is great to see another cache out there.
This cache is best approached from the west the climb is a bit easier and if you fall your body will be a lot easier to recover!
Not a cache for kids, old men (me) or the accident-prone.
Jantas has the bruises to justify that comment.
It is one that should be on your to-find list.
Thanks sirius??
Did a quick circuit and started climbing. Got to where the GPS was telling me I was 1 meter away and still the only way to go was up. At this point discretion prevailed (ie I was s... scared) and a retreat was made.
Maybe another day.
Is there any truth to the rumour that Sirius is half man, half mountain goat?
I am sure there is iron ore which plays up with the gps which was all over the place. When you are looking for a rock among many rocks it is a bit hard. Maybe another time.
