You can't open the outer cache that is only for the CO to do maintenance.

Hello stainless-steel-rat thanks for the cache

Well that wasn't that bad, it only took me five goes before I had what I needed to be able to log the cache.
I loved it thanks for something different.

Oh no - 17 tries before I was successful and then it took me a little while to get the hang of the magnet. I was worried I would still be here in he dark. TFTC

Out and about with GOOSE AND SSRAT !!
The rat stood back for this one and let me find it ....
And when I did I realised what it WAS !!
Not being a fan of mint tins I looked for the closest BOMB
to unleash on it. However ..... through my clear frustration I saw a very inventive cache indeed.
I was actually lucky that it didn’t take me all that long.
GOLD STAR for an inventive cache SSRAT

After reading some of the logs for this one, we had a fair idea of what to expect in our heads. In fact, we once had a cache that was a little similar, although not at all gadgety. Suspecting what we were going to encounter didn't diminish the experience in any way!! It took us 11 attempts to sign the log and we were quite expecting that it would take more! We are really pleased to know that this cache is here, as we now know what to do with our Eclipse tins when the mints are all gone - just bring them here for 'recycling' - maybe this could result in the cache difficulty increasing over time?? Got myself together and spent an hour drying this out, should all be good for the next finder.

Sorry for not getting to this one before the next finder work has been a bit mad in the run up to the end of the year and I have even had to turn down a couple of FTF runs!

I'll do my best to fix this cache up over xmas.

Sorry again for my poor form in maintaining this cache.

Work for the year was over, so after arriving home grabbed the GeoGSP and my adult son (home for the Uni holidays) and headed out for a little geocaching adventure. My word someone has minty breath! What a most excellent gadget cache. My adult son was keen to complete the task, after 2y'stassies previous log for this one, we were expecting everything to be quite wet. The containers had varying amounts of water in them, I suppose depending on where they were sitting. The log was eventually found, and although wet the rainproof paper has meant it is in good condition. We got as much water out of everything as we could and put everything else back in place trying to provide as much cover as much possible to prevent further water inundation. And as for how many goes......well we lost count, let's just say all but 3! Thanks SSR for the work you have put into this one, great fun.

Today we were in Hobart to catch up with family and we also needed a dragon zone cache for today to fill a gap in our Finds for Day of the Year Molten Solstice Horologist Mission. As we arrived on the outskirts of Hobart at 10:00 and were not due at our son's place until 11:00 how would we occupy ourselves? Silly question. Find a cache of course.

This was our nearest unfound GCA cache so off we went on a slight detour. We soon found ourselves close to the hide - only a short uphill walk. Had forgotten that we were not wearing appropriate shoes for tackling this environment and soon found ourselves slip sliding our way to GZ. The trip up took slightly longer than it should have.

On circling the object at GZ we found a very large container in the open. When Mrs Y'stassie went to pick it up she found it was very heavy and there was an ominous sloshing accompanied by the metallic clink of mint tins knocking against one another. On peering into a the hole she saw that the container was two thirds full of water and the mint tins were bobbing along just below the surface. We all know from experience that mint tins are not water proof.

Fortunately the tool we had with us was strong enough to lift the water filled containers. Each one we extracted was full of water. We emptied the main container and each one we extracted however Mrs Y's Tassie had not bought her container of thick tissues with her so we were unable to dry the empty containers. We found the log in the eleventh one. Like the others it was full of water and the book was stuck to the wall on the tin. We managed to get it out without damaging it but it was very wet. We did manage to sign it.

As we were due at our sons we did not have time to leave everything out in the sun to dry so the cache will need some owner maintenance.

We put everything back as we had found it and covered the container with the camo material nearby. We hope it will be OK until the CO is able to visit it.

Thanks for the cache Stainless-Steel-Rat. It was fun despite the added water.

As the skies brooded, I walked up the hill. Once I got within about 25m, my GPSr went crazy and I walked around in circles before spotting the fairly obvious cache. Now for the hard bit - but no! 2nd go!!
Fantastic cache - loved it.

A quick find on a beautiful holiday morning in the Hobart area. Taking the opportunity to grab a few caches before heading back home to the north west coast. And now we know exactly how many goes it could take to sign the logbook for this one, used them all. mr sharnie's tribe was certainly venting his frustration by the time he got to wield the pen! We needed to soak up some of today's spring sun. This cache was nearby so we decided that was a good enough excuse to go out for a walk. It was great to find a decent sized cache. It took us six attempts to find what we were looking for. Thanks SSR for a fun, novel cache.

Hi Stainless
Woke this morning at 0730 hours but it was already 0830 hours - HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME!

Mum had not got up to go to Church which meant my early rise was going to be wasted - decided to go caching and do today the caches I was going to look for tomorrow.
So I drove from Huonville to Sandy Bay, South Hobart, Howrah, Flagstaff Gully, Richmond, Tea Tree, Sorell, Mt Rumney and back to Huonville netting eight finds for the day driving a total of 221 kilometres - walking to and from caches for the day saw me do 8.21 kilometres on foot with 10912 steps and burning 1735 calories.

Weather: Overcast but fine, sunny and warm; temperature later in the day was 18 degrees Celsius (at Seven Mile Beach.) Windy everywhere I went.

Having driven from Huonville to Sandy Bay and South Hobart to make two finds before this became the next on the day's agenda.
Across the bridge to a familiar parking spot. Where's the track start; as usual, I couldn't find it - I never walk far enough to locate it from where I park the car - it happened again today. Walked through the bush heading toward the cache by following the needle and voila, the track appears; better and easier walking now.

Arrived at GZ and took a pit stop.

The cache was well hidden but found easily. Off with the camouflage and AHA! Look! Just what one was expecting.
In with the tool and up come two peskies. Out with my tool and one remains and one drops - this is going to be bloody ted....!! BUT fun. In and out! In and out! Reminded me of my fishing trips - a fish every cast - Achmmm - sounds like a fishing story to me!
Okay, I did this some seventeen times and on the eighteenth the log was inside. Only one signature to date, but I knew that the goose had been there with his family and got the FTF - well done!
This became a very popular spot after I left today. The cache was Sainted at 1107 hours.

May I endorse goose's sentiments - a great cache to which you should take your kids or your grandkids as I believe they would enjoy it immensely. The cartridge was reloaded and the "pond" was put back in place and the camouflage re-added.

Only a short walk from car to the cache and return was required:
A total distance of 1.38 kilometres required only 719 steps burning 64 calories.

Highly recommend what can only be described as a great cache for kids of all ages, even one as old as me.

TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Fantastic another gadget cache to find. Headed up the hill and went further than I needed to. As I was looking for something that fitted the hint Tas32 and Hatgillie arrived at GZ before me. I let them test their skillls first. Lucky I did as I never got the log until my 15th dip. A clever gadget cache and lots of fun. This cache has been like Flinders Street Station as I was the 4th cacher today. Well worth five thumbs and a recommendation. Thanks stainless-steel-rat for the fun. TFTGC

I knew that my old mate was keen to put out a gadget cache and he needed to do it by the end of the month to be in the running for a pathtag. Today was his last chance! We (family) had been down at Cambridge Park and on the way back saw the ratmobile on the side of the road. Hmmm, I refreshed my emails and saw he had published his new gadget cache not far away. We had to do a bit of 'toing and froing' to get back to GZ and then we had to drag the kids up to GZ. Once at GZ they were in geocaching heaven. Mum and Dad didn't even get a look in, as the little ones took charge and got to work. It's a pity that kind of effort doesn't happen at home!
I won't say too much more as I don't want to spoil it other than to say 'second last', you'll understand when you do it. Let me tell you if my kids love a cache it is certainly well worth doing and they loved this one. Considering it had been published for an hour before we noticed we were lucky and surprised to score a FTF @ 1330 Dancing Thanks stainless-steel-rat for another great cache.
