Had never done this type of cache before but it sounded really interesting wasn’t sure what to expect or even if id understand what i needed to do, got to GZ and found the wonderfully solid cache took some time to work out the clue to have us on our way to the key to get it unlocked. Left a note behind in the plastic box that we had taken the cache to unlock but would be back soon and went off on our journey to find key. Took about half an hour all up to find the reverse cache get to the key get the cache unlocked and signed then put back. Thoroughly enjoyed this one i think Reverse Caches will become my new thing i love these types of puzzling hides that make you really think. Thankyou Tassie Trekkers for this wonderfully planned out & designed cache.

I had been up to find this cache before and did find the cache but not the reverse, so tried again with a helper and was shown what was needed to unlock the cache and went on a quick journey to do that, at last I signed that cache and what a good one, hope that there are more out there for me to find.

I tried to do this cache in the summer but must have had the wrong coordinates in my phone as today I was in a slightly different area. Found a stump and it looked like it should have a cache in it but nothing was there - oh dear had it been muggled!! I was about to leave when I spotted another stump a little further away - could that be the one! At GZ I found a well concealed cache and it took me a little bit of time before the coordinates of the key to the cache were revealed. Off I went with cache in hand but I was hoping this was a quick find as I did not want to have the cache away from its hiding place for too long. Key to opening the cache was quickly found and I signed the log and returned the cache back to its hiding place. I throughly enjoyed this reverse cache and am pleased I did not give up!! At gz found a fortress like logbook container, but thankfully the means to entry weren't too far away.
All aspects of the cache are still in top condition. An extremely well constructed cache which was thoroughly enjoyed...many thanks Tassie Trekkers for an excellent cache...cheers ST.

Found on a ramble with the usual menagerie, made sure I poured some coffee into them first before we headed out of course! A fairly easy one terrain-wise, no scrambling down cliffs or up trees which is always lovely!
We found the cache early in the day so grabbed it and took it with us for a good part of the day. We went via another chance then onto find the key. SSR stood back and let TazScout and I do the honours. I do like these revere caches, except for the fact that with us having the cache in hand nobody else could turn up and find it. That's why we wrote the note on the page to say we had it.
Another great cache Tassie Trekkers and our third type of cache (out of three finds) today.
A comment to stainless steel rat on Thursday night turned into a plan rather quickly over the following 24 hours. After a later than expected Friday night I dragged myself out of bed while the clock still started with a 5, Urgh!
My first stop was the Rats Nest to pick up stainless steel rat and after loading his things in the car we departed at 6.05am. Our first stop was Mood Food for coffee and to find some lunch to throw in the esky for later, followed by a much needed stop at the train park in Perth (to offload the coffee), then it was on to the house of TazScout for another round of coffee.
We spent the whole day caching in various parts of Trevallyn Reserve and then picked up a few other caches as we left there late in the day. We found traditional caches, puzzle caches, a trig point, some moveable caches, a pod cache, a reverse cache, a beacon cache, a gadget cache, a night cache and a multi-cache. We also found a cache of EVERY terrain type from an easy T1 right through to a ‘fun’ T5.
After a late dinner in town, we returned back south with a couple of fresh air stops on the way. After dropping stainless steel rat back at his nest, I arrived home at 11.45pm absolutely exhausted.

up this way with GooseandEgg and tazscout, just picked it up and will return later today
Second last day of the SOTN summer game so we decided we needed to target some caches for scavenges that are still gaps on our list. A quick detour on our way for a FTF then it was on with our trek to the wilds of Trevallyn to see how successful we could be with those gaps. A fairly good day, only missed two, but as one is a moveable maybe we'll find it somewhere else in our travels. As for the other one, well, maybe another visit with a bit more time up our sleeve will meet with more success. We found the cache and then after a bit of thinking we made our way to the necessary spot to be able to sign the logbook. Enjoyed this cache, thanks for the work you put into it's construction
this one took 2 in fact 3 visits first was last night when I still had caches in the area to do so left it
tonight I was near the key so called in then had to head back to the start to get it and back again to replace the cache
a great cache well worth going out of your way for.
come on if I can drive up from Hobart you can too

We had added this cache to our list today as we needed to find a large reverse cache to give us maximum points for the SOTN games scavenge find a reverse cache. We were running out of time and still had two caches to find so hoped that this one would prove to be reasonably straight forward.
Fortunately the gods were smiling and we were able to find the container quickly although Mr Y'stassie had to extract it as Mrs Y's Tassie was still feeling a little nervous around stumps.
As we examined the container one of us asked what's that there for and lo and behold we had what we needed to continue to the next step. A nice neat piece of work Trekkers.
We hoped that no one else came looking for the cache while we were in possession of the most important part.
As our time was running out Mrs Y'stassie headed towards the tool needed to access the log while Mr Y'stassie went to look for the last cache on the list.
It was not until she was closing in on GZ that Mrs Y'stassie realised Trekkers eye level would be top of head level for her. She spotted the tool as she closed in and let out a sigh of relief as she could reach it and would be able to use it as needed.
Container was soon open and the log signed. Then everything was returned to position and the box closed.
Mrs Y'stassie returned to the drop off spot where she was picked up so that she could return the box to its hiding place. She felt very brave returning the box alone and may have got over her every stump might harbor a snake phobia.
Thanks for this well planned and beautifully constructed reverse cache Tassie Trekkers. It certainly deserves a recommendation.

Now that the first to find has gone, we will log a find. We were the "beta" testers for this reverse cache and had fun working out where to find the coords to find what we needed to access the log book. It is great to see these different caches types being created. They are lots of fun to find and to create. Thanks for the reverse cache Tassie Trekkers.
Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a dragon zone virtual verbosity trophy. We have just received the 100 word trophy, so now aiming for the 150 word trophy. For all new GCA cachers, a warning, write a decent log to start with in case you want to get these virtual trophies down the track. Having now passed 2000 GCA finds with a lot of one word logs (on many moveables) makes for a lot of typing now!
We are participating in the States of the Nation games which are currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018 and we will try and use this find against one of the scavenges.
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

The States of the Nation games have helped boost our dragon zone points and we have achieved a few milestone trophies as well.
Have you joined a clan? Enhance your geocaching experience by joining a clan and being a part of the Dragon Zone. Choose a team Clan Griffin , Clan Phoenix , Clan Cerberus or Clan Minotaur . Earn trophies and rise through the ranks from Dragon Fodder to Ruler of the Universe.
whitewebbs are now a geocache themselves as we have published a 'Geocacher cache' GA10805 - Where's whitewebbs? - so if you spot us out and about in the field sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a smiley.

Wow! We had some fun with this one. Found the large cache at GZ easily enough. But then the fun began. How to find the key to open the box to sign the log? We had never done a Reverse cache before, and the clue didn't really gel. We were thinking a Chirp might help us out, but after walking around in ever widening circles, we couldn't find anything to download. We googled reverse caches and looked up all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas for sneaky caches, but alas they were of no assistance to us. In the end we stopped overthinking it, and just began a very wide circumference search for the missing component and through process of elimination, Mrs D eventually looked in the right place and came up with the prize. The mountain was then brought to Mohammed, and the cache was opened to reveal the log and an awesomely cool FTF prize of a prized Tassie Trekkers pathtag. We are still not sure if we did this the right way or not, but thanks so much Tassie Trekkers for the awesomely cool pathtag, and for a great Sunday morning caching experience.
