Description

The Wyrrabalong National Park is located on the Central Coast of NSW. After attending the OzGeoMuster over Easter 2018 we stayed a week in Bateau Bay caching and bowling.

There is plenty to see and do in the park. There are hiking/walking trails, beautiful beaches and depending on the time of year you may spot a whale. But whatever the time of year you are visiting you will be rewarded with striking coastal views.

Near GZ there are two trigs which you can also claim for a smiley.

Please answer the following questions from the information board at GZ and select the correct answers by choosing questions and answers under Actions on the RH side of the cache page. When you select the answers correctly you will receive a code to log to claim a smiley. Please copy and paste this code into the "Codeword" box when logging the find.

Archiving as info has disappeared. Thanks to last to try to find for logging a DNF

This history cache seems impossible at the moment. There is nothing at GZ resembling any of the questions. Only 3 boards there. One is damaged and the only distinguishable thing on it are the words "South Wyrrab...Coast Walking...and headland... winter whale". The other 2 signs have illustrations of whales, and photos of a seal and dolphins. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

We've walked here from Shelly Beach a few times but today we wanted a short lunch walk so we started at Foresters instead.
A lovely spot for a picnic overlooking the coast. The sign at GZ didn't seem to have the answer to question 1, so we took and educated guess and got the code.
Thanks for the Virtual Cache!

One of the best views on the coast and it even had several people hang gliding today, cruising along the cliffline with a sea eagle above them. The walk from here to Crackneck lookout is excellent too.

Found the information and soon had confirmation that we were on the right track.

Thanks for the cache.

The kids and I braved the rain today to make a drive down to Forresters Beach, nabbing a dozen caches and a handful of trigs/virtuals.... a great way to spend a rainy day! With the 2 for 1 special on (actually 3 for 1) we were keen - a great spot too..... a kid handed us a NSW Rocks rock on our way up too..... Thanks - this was a great spot, and an interesting little drive up the ridge..... No whales though!

I come up here from time to time to take in the great view ... usually, as happened this weekend, when we are showing visitors how great it is to live on the coast. Obviously, though, it's been more than 12 months since my last visit because this virtual cache wasn't here when I was last came. Spent a while gazing out to sea ... no whales sighted today though, just the usual line up of ships waiting for their turn to enter the port of Newcastle ... it always amazes me how many there are!

Thanks for setting up this virtual cache whitewebbs ... it's a place that more people should visit.

Thanks for pointing out a mistake, have changed from acres to hectares. Congrats on being FTF.

We were doing a cache maintenance run on the northern end of the coast and had to pick up our daughter from Erina Fair so we headed down the coast road. We spotted this cache and realised that it had not been found yet so we made a detour to a place that we have been to numerous times before for both caching and whale watching.
This is a great location, only issue with the cache is that question 2 should read hectares not acres.
Thanks for the cache whitewebbs
