Description

Take a photo of an incorrect or misleading label on a product

Some products these days rely on their popularity or history to advertise themselves on the shelf of a supermarket or display cabinet.

Items that are easily recognisable such as Coca Cola, because of the unique shape of their glass bottles, is a good example.

How closely do we actually look at the labels of items we automatically reach for in the supermarket?

What if you were a newcomer to this country and were looking for a product to use. Would the information on the label give an accurate description of the contents.?

Your challenge is to find such a label, and submit a photo of it.

Congratulations RACH2 on a very quick 1st to find.

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.

https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the "Find" with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.

The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.

As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

I bought this loaf of HiFibre White bread and found it to be labelled 7 Seeds & Grain which it is quite clearly not. White bread was what I wanted and the price was the same so no harm done. Very Happy

Everynow and then when lunch calls I drop into the local supermarket for a bite.

Idon't mind the chicken wings they prep and put on display.

But come on.

A piece of sticky tape over the top 'Sealed for Freshness' is a little far.

The product is far from sealed.

I've exaggerated the photo a little but you can see that the product is nowhere near sealed.

TFTL Very Happy

Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the product that was used at the dentist, who was using it to help make an impression for a denture plate.
The product, from a German company, was titled: "Adhesive Spay", believe, it or NOT! Shocked
I ended up emailing that company, with the suggestion that while word-checker may have allowed the usage of the word 'Spay', that it was NOT an appropriate word for the function of their product! The dentist had never picked up on the mis-spelling either, and was a bit concerned.

My son pointed out the discrepancy on this label of Palmolive Dishwashing Detergent.
The container has been the same style for a long time and is easily recognisable by people who use it on a regular basis. The pale purple colour of it is also very recognisable, but for somebody looking for dishwashing detergent, and unfamiliar with this product, first you find it is made by Palmolive, it’s Soft on Hands, Gentle Care, Dry Skin, with a touch of Aloe, Dermatologically Tested, Ultra Concentrated, and finally, in tiny print, dishwashing detergent.
A person could easily be led to believe it’s a skin conditioner for greasy or dry skin.
It’s a perfect example of incorrect or misleading labels.
