Description

Welcome to the only point I have managed to find to enter the Ballina Nature Reserve. As you might be able to see by the dilapidated signage at the entry, this is a National Park entity, so please respect the flora and fauna here. This walk is just over 1km in, returning the same distance (obviously) back out along the same route.

The given coordinates are for parking.
The start of the track is at S28 47.314 E153 33.808... in other words, just across the road.

The waypoint used to find this cache is a 2X2(ish) meter man made object at S28 47.739 E153 34.076. So plug your coordinates into your GPS device and let's go! Somewhere on this object you will find a string of six characters making up the object's ID. To make this more than a D1, I've decided to turn this ID into a string of eleven characters. Let's now lable them A to K. I've given you one hint about this string of characters in the hint section. If you can figure out what this string of eleven characters is, you should be able to find the geocache at:

S28 4[C+D].EH[A+I]  E153 3F.[BX2][GJ-8]

I've been kind enough to add a geochecker so you can see if you are on the right track or need to rethink what the eleven charaters may be.

Good luck, have fun, and I hope it isn't as stinky as when I last visit (had a good wash out from rain). Oh, and watch out for snakes. of course!

IF FOR SOME REASON THE MAN MADE OBJECT IS NO LONGER AT GZ, SEND ME PHOTOS OF THE SITE, AND MAYBE SOMETHING NEARBY LIKE WHAT LOOKS A BIT LIKE AN ANACONDA CURLING UP ON A NEARBY TREE, OR THE ROCKY PATCH, AND I WILL GLADLY GIVE YOU THE FINAL CACHE LOCATION COORDINATES. :)

Boring walk really.
Too much of a chance that the man made object will move.
Cache still in place though, so if you think you can figure it out...

Fun fact: did you know that snakes are "solar powered"? They rely fully on external heat or light sources for mobility.
Walking along this track I was tempted to make a photo album of the many vines climbing the trees and label them, "Not a snake", "Also not a snake", "Certainly looks like a snake", "Had to take a second look to see that wasn't a snake", etc. Haha. Thankfully I didn't see any real snakes that day though.
