Description
This short walk invites you to see beautiful bushland and mangroves while experiencing the Aboriginal cultural heritage that makes this area so special. Starting from Minjungbal Aboriginal Cultural Centre, you'll follow a boardwalk and walking track through eucalypt forest, woodlands and swamp forests, before emerging among the diverse mangrove communities along Tweed River. But just when you think you're almost there, the boardwalk abruptly ends... destroyed in the great floods of 2022. You can see your destination just over the way, but the only way there is through the mud. Can you get across to the platform (and the cache) without ruining your shoes?

The structure that the cache was attached too has been dismantled, and the cache taken along with it!
Sadly this cache hiding spot has disappeared.
The 'Walk On Water' track will now need to be renamed 'Walk IN Water and Mud'. Although being NSW NPWS, it probably will just cease to exist altogether. As I was squelching my way back to the existing path a birdwatcher waited for me. We discussed the state of the paths here post flood and how the board walk and lookout point are completely gone now. He was disappointed and fully agreed with me in the fact that NSW NPWS don't like reopening things if they don't have to. He's actually written to the NP to ask about the boardwalk and giving a few reasons for its reopening. That was a while ago and he hasn't heard anything back of course.
I really enjoyed my little adventure out here still, getting mud between the toes, and even temporarily losing a thong in the mud under water only metres from this GZ. Haha.
Thanks still.

note to self: read the description better I didn't realise that the bridge was out in multiple locations. fishermen had made the muddy journey to gz so I'm out
On the move today with caravan in tow, we detoured off the Hwy to find this cache.
Mr T is always up for a challenge, so couldn't resist giving this one a try.
He successfully made the crossing without wet feet and found the cache safely secured in position. It was a very rewarding find and a *FTF* @ 10.26hrs.
Many thanks, MattyRx for another great cache placement & the FTF PT.

A girl walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a double entendre, so he gave it to her.
