Description

Welcome to the GeGnome Project

The game runs from 01-Dec-2010 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2011 23:59:59

This is not a normal type of cache but "Firesafe Hoe" is one of 4 Firesafe gnomes that would like to move around the country over December and January.

So if you find it, grab it, sign the log then move it on somewhere else and log the new cordinates so that someone else may find it and move it on.

Enjoy [:)]

Since the race is over and as I am heading to the US myself, it is time for this guy to get some more FF miles and see some more of the States. Very Happy

17-Jan-11
Moved 30.9km
Moved this little guy to a place where he'll be ready to respond quickly if required.

He's between the gate post and the hedge. Should be easy to grab.

(Note: I dropped him on the 16th, but there seems to be a log timing issue, so changed the date to 17th.)

16-Jan-11
Winners are Grinners. He's winning the race thus far. This little fella took a drive down to the "Elwood by the Beach" event cache yesterday to allow him to cool off between fighting fires. A couple discovered him at the event then he travelled up closer towards fellow fire fighters near the CFA training camp at Fiskeville where I had planned to drop him off. Seems the smell of a bbq was too much for him and he needed to see some of his mates so I dropped him off to help celebrate Sue's birthday at the "It's My Birthday!" event.

Happy travels - you are in good hands and stay ahead of the pack.

16-Jan-11

Ok high enough off the river not to be washed away.

An easy rocky environment.

12-Jan-11
I came past this familiar spot a couple of times today.

All the time it was raining until on the 4th I had a small window, ducked inside and a quick find.

Time for the hoe to move on!!

Very Happy

11-Jan-11
Thanks to C@W and others that took "Hoe" on his US holiday DancingDancing .... ClappingClapping

11-Jan-11
Moved 12806.7km
Firesafe Hoe has made his way back to Victoria after travelling all around the USA. If you pick up his Google Earth file, you can plainly see where he went to visit.
I hope that he enjoyed his stays in the USA along with a few pictures in previous logs and is now resting quite comfortably in Williamstown awaiting a new cacher to move him on.

31-Dec-10
Moved 361.83km
Firesafe Hoe is now at Disneyland again ready to come home in a week or so. caughtatwork made two moves (one under the 7 day rule) so I made this move to California on the way back to Australia.

29-Dec-10
Moved 3593.48km
Under the 7 day rule, Firesafe Hoe has now moved across to Las Vegas, Nevada.
This was after a day delay in New York with Kennedy airport snowed in and the caughtatwork family having to stay one additional night, then get on a standby flight (we were the last 4 standby passengers on the flight) to Salt Lake City, then another flight across to Las Vegas.
Now that's a story that will become more palatable with time, but at the moment, very, very stressful.
Hoe is safe and will be back in California shortly before heading home to Australia in a week or so.

22-Dec-10
Moved 1530.33km
Firesafe Hoe has made it to the Big Apple.
In New York with caughtatwork for the next couple of days, hell be on his way across the country in a week or so.
I hope Firesafe Hoe enjoys the visit to the city that never sleeps.

15-Dec-10
Moved 1092.14km
Firesafe Hoe is now holidaying in Orlando, Florida. There may be a picture or two.

12-Dec-10
Moved 2557.08km
Grabbed this cache out of the hands of caughtatwork and took for a trip to Memphis, Tennessee. I hope to get a picture of Firesafe Hoe at Gracelands for posterity.

08-Dec-10
Moved 12800.58km
Firesafe Hoe has moved, quite a considerable distance due to the luck of the draw and caughtatwork heading off to the USA.
Hoe is now within viewing distance of the happiest place on earth. I'm a Gnome, duh!
A lack of time with arrivals and transfers and a general lack of co-ordination due to jet lag means there are no pictures today, but there will be some on the way in the short future.
I wouldn't bother trying to find Hoe as he has been almost instantly picked up by GabGab and will be transported in the next couple of days to another state.
I hope Hoe goes into the leaderboard with quite a considerable distance lead (depending on whether Gnano moved more or less on the latest hop).

03-Dec-10
Found at around 2.30pm, on my way in to town to try to gnab the four gnomes that had been hidden this morning. This one's been handed over to a traveller for a possible long flight... watch this space!

03-Dec-10
Hoe has been found Mr. Green
Meeting pwags at the Rialto for cofee, we found and exchanged gnomes to help them on their way.
I have a feeling that Hoe is off to the USA with me for a trip and all things being lucky, he might also be moved around a little bit before returning home under the 1 week rule.
Thanks Firesafe for hiding these gnomes for the race.
