Description
What happens when Gnomes decide they need new jobs....
So there I was, explaining the GeGnome Race to all of my new err, subcontractors (ie Gnomes that I had Gnome-napped) when these three wanted to know about re-training options at the end of the invasion errr, race.
I was asking them what they thought they wanted to do, when Gnome #1 stopped me by saying he'd always thought that he and his brothers would be really good at operating traffic lights. Given that he stopped me - guess which light I decided he could be????

Let's presume Stop!!!, like his bretheren is MIA and not likely to be seen again....
Hmmmm I found the GZ cache fine but I think STOP!!! Has been collected by a GC cacher as I believe he was hidden next to the cache.
This is a good example of why NOT to hide moveables near GC caches... they go missing. I did interpret the clue literally but also had a look around the GZ to no avail. Good chance this one is gone As I found another Gnome 20m away hidden at the same time as this one I think it unlikely another GCA cacher picked it up but left the other behind.

GCA 471 - 4875. A couple of finds this afternoon.
After finding Happy Anniversary it was back to the car near where this one was hiding. Another Gnome found !!

A short drive and a shorter walk, brought Geodog too for a walk up the road only moved this short distance
Just to make it easy, it's under the second closest rock to the road.
Interesting that Google Maps pinpoints the last co-ords precisely. I wonder if it was used to type in the coords?
380. Finally nabbed him and wondering if the last time I missed him was due to the co-ords being as far off as these were showing me. The GPS took me to the middle of the carpark - no help there. So I resorted to the clue - couldn't see any bushes so tried the grassy things - nada. Eventually looked under a Wattle tree and there he was totally exposed. Glad it was a cacher that was first to spot Stop!!!

So, when i grabbed Stop, he felt quite lonely.
I guess you would too, sitting in a rosemary bush for several weeks.
Ok, i guess he had something to watch, whether it be suss looking college kids nearby, paranoid geocachers checking if he was still there (ok, that was me, my bad..), and a fair bit of traffic (to stop? *groan* went past, and parked, i guess.
But the "i'm a bored gnome get me out of here" sign had been activated.
Now he's sitting under a bush, having a look at the scouts HQ.
(another place which i can keep tabs on him! haha!)

454. Managed not to see it in amongst the plethora of bottles. The bonus is I now smell like a lamb roast. Pity we had one 2 nights ago.

Yoooink!
Found this one by accident! Was walking back from GeoPirate, and spotted something red in the tree stump. Could that be? oh, i'll have a look.
Oh hey! A gnome! Hehe, i now have completed the gnome traffic light series.

Candy Cane 101 and I went for a walk this afternoon, placing gnomes in this area, according to some very specific instructions by Black Bunny. We haven't been told why, but we suspect a pattern is emerging. We also suspect that we were told to do it in a certain way, just to make us cross the creek the maximum number of times en route. We had fun anyway, and saw a lot of kangaroos and a few brown bunnies.
We found this gnome again while attending the Blue Mountains Gnome Event. TFTG
Grabbed this fellow to bring back to Canberra after the GLF & GFF event at Mt Victoria. One of 50 gnomes at the GLF & GFF event.
A chance to catch up with some Sydney cachers that we have only parried with on the forums, enjoy some good company and swap some tags.
Thanks for the gnome

It was a great day! The gnomes enjoyed it, and so did the non-gnomes.
Good food, good company, good pathtags, and magnificent weather and views!

Went for a drive today to catch up with a few gnomes that I heard were gathering at an event in the Blue Mt's. Something about the GLF and GFF calling a truce.
Meet a few gnoming aficiandos and even eat my way through a couple of gnome cup cakes (Thanks to Just a Cacher for those) while signing (almost) all the logs.
A great way, and a great spot, to spend an hour or 2.
Thanks to all who attended, great to meet you, along with the gnomes.

'STOP!!! Gnome Traffic Light' is ready to party with his mates, some new and some he has already met in his travels. With the GLF and the GFF comparing notes let's hope for a lasting peace.
Don't go looking for him before Saturday the 2nd of July, he won't come out and play until then!

After spending quite a lot of time hiding in the bushes in the Mobbs Lane 'flatlands' . . . he seemed happy to come along.

Well, the A team minus Gneville 7 had finished partying and had had enought R&R so they were sent back on duty. This time their mission was to report on enemy movements along the M2 Motorway.
STOP spied a good hiding place and asked to be let out. The quickly made himself a strong point from which to observe the enemy.

With all this wet weather happening Go and Stop put the call out as they thought they were in danger of getting wet. I happened to be in the area and checked these guys out. They didn't take much convincing to hop into a nice dry car. Their mission will resume as soon as the wet period is over. They might be dry but I was soaked retrieving them

STOP and GO have been deployed together to ensure there is nothing missed in the surveilance. They are tasked with watching the comings and goings along the Parramatta River - a very critical transport pathway. They are each secured in a stone fortress, very close to each other and will be safe here for the duration of the mission no matter how long it takes.
STOP is under a bit of rock against a tree trunk, a few metres further off the path that GO

Stop!! dropped by and advised me the A team would be stopping here What on earth am I going to feed a whole army? I had nothing prepared for them, I hope they all like weet-bix for breakfast
The first Gnome Team (The A Team) has reached its dispersal point. All members have their new duties assigned and will rely on help from local human at Dispersal Point Alpha to reach satisfactory destinations.
Of course all Gnomes will report back to Clwydd Headquarters from time to time to advise of their findings.

'STOP!!! Gnome Traffic Light Series #1' has reached his assigned assembly point, where he will be joined by his team mates. He has joined his transportation and is only waiting for all to be present. They will all be on the move in a few days. He is anxious to start his new adventures.

STOP!!! is en route east via Leura. He's passing through the railway station, just at the top of Leura Mall. If you're interested, there's a GCA traditional placed near here . . .
Little red STOP!!! is an old friend of mine, so it was a pleasure to move him along on behalf of the GFF. Where will he go? I think his ultimate destination is further east, under the auspices of a senior GFF official . . .

'STOP!!! Gnome Traffic Light Series #1' has managed somehow to convince a jury of his peers that he is a reformed Gnome and fit once again to be a part of the large Lithgow Gnome community. To this end he has been supplied with numerous cappuccino voucher for use at the nearby fast food place. he is in the hedge monitoring the traffic light at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Main Street.
Boy! was 'STOP!!!' red in the face, I caught him red handed panhandling in the street, not a good thing for a Gnome even if all he wanted was cappuccino money. Back in the GGG lock up you go, we will see if you are fit to be released in the company of other Gnomes.

Katoomba Station -- a waystation on the road west!
The GGG Master will take over from here.
No sense checking around the benches on the station platform.
This was only a brief stopover.

STOP!!! #1 was found panhandling on the footpath at Wentworth Falls, obviously trying to raise cappuccino money for himself and his companion 'Gnome or Nanos.'
I have no idea what the locals must have thought.
Because any trouble arose, I virtually gnabbed STOP!!! #1 and his offsider and began the usual GGG process to move them along on their way westwards.
No gnome can escape the GGG! (Well, not many, anyway.)

'STOP!!! Gnome Traffic Light Series #1' followed the example set by his friend 'Gnome or nanos' and sneaked off the train when I was not looking. Still he won't go far the GGG has member all over and he will be taken soon, it is a hard life being a Gnome these days!
Well this was a bit harder than I expected, the walk from Kingswood station proved to be very unpleasant in the stifling heat of the early afternoon. However 'STOP!!!' proved to be adept at hiding, who would have thought a bright red Gnome would be so hard to find! In the end the GGG was up to the task, he is on his way West.

Is it just me or did everyone else miss the hint in the description? Let alone missing the obvious cache name? This guy wants to operate traffic lights!! But as his desire is not needed with them, we may as well place him as close as we can to the traffic lights. So I've place in the Kingswood Loins Park next to the "The Northern Road" and 'Maxwell Street' traffic lights. Hope to continue the trend....
Got home to find two gnomes hiding near by my home town. The wife and I took the dog for a quick stroll along memory walk. As the wife wanted to find this one, I got within 20 metres then let her grab the prize. TFTH bikerbuddy
I realised when I went out caching today that I still had two gnomes in the boot from the caching even t on Saturday. So I did a bit of quick, if somewhat unimaginative hiding to send them on their way. This was the first fella I jettisoned, down near the Nepean River. He's not within sight of the river, even though he climbed a tree to try for a bit of a look.

A bit like buses. I have never seen a gnomic cache. Then Three all at once. At Upjohn Park
Somehow, after adopting another gnome from the Geocaching101 event today, we ended up with this fellow to move on as well. I blame NickoHeap, who took a shine to the gnomes. Will move on shortly.
PS the log is entirely full. I squeezed my name into a space, but I've also squeezed in a new blank piece of paper to write on.

This gnome is still with me but will be at the GC event on Saturday close to home for collection. Don't bother looking before then!!!
Another great event today. On a stinking hot day in homebush oveer 40 gnomes showed up and looked to be having a great time especially this little guy. Oh yeah there where some fun people there aswell.
Looks like a couple of gnomes may have followed us home and there locations will be updated soon.
Thankyou to the organisers and who ever gave this little guy a lift. Looking forward to the next event.

Attending the post race gnome party at Homebush this was one of MANY new to us gnomes we found on the table. Geoboy Toby liked this series so we had to promise to look out for the third one (wait?) tftg
I found this bright red gnome once again at the The Gegnome Project-Post Gnome Get Together at Homebush Bay! He's an old friend now . . . and very hard to miss!
Today he was one of an amazing variety of 42 gnomes in attendance at Wentworth Commons in Sydney's Olympic Park -- and a few gnome-mad geocachers attended as well . . . The scorching 41 degree temperatures didn't dent our enthusiasm.
Congratulations to all those battle-hardened gnomes who, like STOP!!!, survived the rigours of the recent competition and our condolences to the owners of those who suffered injuries and/damage or who were finally declared 'missing in action' . . .
This bright little gnome can now take a very well-deserved break, doing whatever it is that gnomes do when they take well-deserved break . .

Found among the 41 other Gnomes at 'The GeGnome Project - Post Gnome Get Together!' A great time was had by all, even the Gnomes and they spent their time having logs and other things pushed up their nether regions at least for most of them. A great way to see Gnomes that I would not have been able to get to otherwise.

I missed this one during the race, but found him at the event today together with his brother Go. He came home to rest out of the heat for a while.
Well what a party that was! There were way more gnomes (42!!!) than cachers (maybe 10 teams, about 20 people) and things almost got out of hand Luckily some of the gnomes who attended were able to keep a bit of control - Bruce the Gninja, GeoPirate, Gno-mad, Gnome-Mare and Geolady were big enough and tough enough to exert some authority.
We held a ballot to see who would go home in which car and STOP agreed to take richary and Anna.

STOP can be found at the stated co-ords tponorrow at the Gnome meeting.
I saw several gnomes pop up in my area so wanted to make a last find before the end on the race.
They can all come to the Post Race party on Saturday.

STOP caused trouble all day. Every time we started to head off to a new tourist spot, he'd STOP!!! us and it took forever to convince him that we could get going agaon. Thanks goodness we also had GO!!! with us or we would have spent all day just sitting in the one spot!
STOP!! was dropped off at North Ryde for the night with the rest of the crowd. All the gnomes had heard that there was a post-race party on the weekend and wanted to be sure to be in a spot where there was a guaranteed lift to get there

I arrived at work to find I was required to act as a tour guide for the day and keep a noisy rabble of 10 gnomes occupied! Thank goodness it's a beautiful day and I can send them outside to play for a while
An extremely early morning trip to the city to drop the gnome delegation off to blossom* for their day's tour. The security guy was a bit non-plussed at my explanation of why there were 11 gnomes in the front garden of the telephone exchange but he has met blossom* and, once I told him she was involved, no more explanation seemed to be needed
There was a delegation here when I arrived this morning, demanding that they be taken all over Sydney becasue they wanted to get in as many tourist stops as possible before the end of the race.
I ought to be able to get them to blossom* and she might give them a bit of a city tour

There's gonna be a party here. Did a midnight Gnome raid and now there is a real gathering waiting to be bundled up together for one last day in the race. Found 2/3 of these little buggers.

He's already back down off the mountains!
Dural is the final dispersion point for local gnomes, trying to eek out a few more kilometres in the comp!
And STOP! #1 has joined the group, ready for final marching orders on Monday.
He's bright red and hard to miss in this automotive undertaking . . .

This Gnome also had only a very brief stay, only to be gnapped unceremoniously and taken away before his feet touched the ground. he will turn up again very soon.
Gnome Traffic Light #1 has been collected, a temporary stop has been put to his travels, well not quite as he is still in my bag going round Sydney but will soon move to Lithgow (briefly). Gnome gnapping number 2 of 5 for today.

Stop!!! is now resting quite comfortably at my place but i made the mistake of opening the door and he darted out across the road and found himself a little place to hide near the lake.
Stolen from underneath my nose last time, I finally was able to gnap this gnome. Stop!!! was waiting ever so patiently in a lovely spot. I thought I'd found him for sure and when I arrived at GZ and spotted the hide I was shocked to find not a gnome but a cache that I stumbled upon by accident. So where was the gnome, Ah there you are, you are so small! I grabbed him and watched in horror as he became.... decapitated! Well it wasn't just his head but his entire body left his legs. Then a sigh of relief as I realised that he wasn't injured at all.
Stop!!! is now relaxing at home with me and Grrr.... and Jiggly Jones, and the they are all the same height, so they are having a ball.

"Stop" decided he wanted to stay somewhere with a water view so I dropped him off after picking up 3 Gnomes in the nearby bush. A nice water view indeed.
Picked STOP up today and was surprised by a local bush turkey looking for his breakfast. STOP didn't like the look of the turkey so he didn't hesitate when I offered him a ride to a safer place.

Decided to boot out the Stop! gnome before we found his brother down at Chatswood. Always thought there should be a cache around here. Walked along the Lover's Jump Creek track a little and turned right towards the two big dead trees. The roots of a fallen tree looked like they already had a cache! Hid him there.
Early morning gnome strike 3/6! After my gnomesis alfyboy gnabbed all the gnomes the night before last I thought I'd go for an early morning run around the area to grab them before the crowds came. I think this spot should have a permanent gnome cache when this is all over to commemorate the number of gnomes that have been hidden here.
Went looking for anothe gnome but was beaten by Tronador. Dropped this off in its place.
Gnapped from under my nose, well at least I hope it was blossoms* garden I was rummaging around in this morning.

Wow. Another part of the traffic light has surfaced nearby. I grabbed him as quick as I could. Still can't work out how to make him light up. I attached two wires to him and plugged him into the 240 but all that happened was he gave off a terrbile smell.

#1 decided to head out the back to get away from all the other gnomes. You will find him having a rest at the base of a small bush
Strike-a-light let all the gnomes out by mistake and I had to chase after a lot of them. I managed to bundle #1 into a red shopping bag with his mate #3 luckily and we headed further north.
We stopped at Penrose Forest to break the drive and have a bit of afternoon tea. All the prisoners in the back must have been getting very restless becasue suddenly, a whole stack of them made a break for it and headed off in all directions. I sent blossom* after them and luckily she caught most of them but I decided they ought to remain in her custody for the rest of the journey.
This guy was really keen to head to Sydney so we bundled him up with a whole heap of prisoners and headed north.
Found in the hands of Blossom*, who was kind enough to share before these gnomes head north for a while.
