today we choose to target all the caches in the Trevallyn dam area, we attempted 14 caches with 13 finds and 1 DNF. it was a very hot waling along the trail so we were always on the look out for our slithering friends.
this cache was took a little to locate with accurate co-ordinance but once found we admired how clever this container was. TFTC Clan Cerberus

Took the opportunity today to return to the Launny area as the boy and I had to drop the girls off at the airport to spend a night in Melbourne. So it was just the boys out and about searching for caches today. After we fueled ourselves with a hearty Macca's brunch. We got stuck into searching for few for a couple of hours. Then we decided to head home and relax.

Started the walk today but only completed halfway. What an amazing series so far!! DancingClapping . Co-ordinates were perfect. The hide was a refreshing change to find. TFTC Clan Cerberus

This was the first of my finding 3 more of the Branching Out series. I had previously found #6 ages ago, and thought it was time to find a few more. By the time I was looking for #1, I was too far ahead to go back to find it and knew I had a return journey anyway. So off to look for #2 but had no luck there (or so I thought). So I thought that I would try and find #3 and if I had any luck there I would come back and find #1 and #2. Got to GZ for #3 and was looking and looking (like I usually do) and was about to give up and then I saw it. Great, now I to log at least one of these and then I remembered something about #6 and the penny dropped...back now to find #2, found a short cut through the bush and was once again looking and looking and reread the clue and pretty much only one branch stuck out but I had been there before and had actually found what I was looking for without even noticing. Two down, great! So back to #1 and ended up at the wrong side of GZ but soon realised that there was an easier extraction. Thanks for getting me almost lost, confused but I thoroughly enjoyed them and will get back and find the last two in the series soon.

Another in the series, very nice construction and hide, however, quickly spotted.. thanks..!!

15-Dec-16
Another nice one, a lot of work has gone into these. TFTC!

This one was a quick find compared to the others and we were happy to make up some time on this one, another great hide from the CO, thanks for the fun so far.

07-May-16
We reached this one with anticipation as we continued or backward assault on this series. We thought we would be in for another long search but found this one surprisingly quickly. Are they getting easier as we count down? TFTC

Didn't have this one in my GPS for some reason yesterday, so grabbed the co-ords this morning and headed out again. Walked up past the hang gliders, listening to some of them scream as they went down, and then headed down to GZ. Didn't take too long to find and the log was soon signed. Another neat hide in the series...thanks again TT...enjoyed the searching and finding on them all.....another *Recommended*

Hmmm just realised I had already logged this and am now trying to delete it. Can't find the right buttons to push even after reading info on the net. Will keep trying!

10-Sep-15
Dragged my friend in circles around the bush but we could t seem to hit the right spot. Will try again another day.

Another find in this series. I have really enjoyed the quality of this series - a lot of thought & work has gone into constructing the caches. Spent quite a bit of time on No.4 but came up empty handed so walked back to this one and with a behaving GPS found fairly quickly. Well hidden and disguised. All well at cache site even after the rain.

I must have been starting to get wise to the "theme" of this series as this one just leaped into my hand. Well comparatively speaking... Now I'll have to find where that old 4WD track ends up as it wasn't on any of my maps.

26-Aug-14
Checked on this cache and the others in the series. Replaced log book.

30-Dec-13
I've only just started locating caches from the GCA website and so far I have not been disappointed with the quality of the hides. Almost gave up on this one but something caught my eye. Sneaky. Really enjoying this series. TFTC

782. Third in the series and one I really liked. Very well done and you deserve much credit for the work you've put into the caches in this area.

Finally found the last of this great series of caches thanks to the sharp eye of Yin. A great hide.

04-May-13
A quick find by mr sharnie's tribe while I was looking somewhere else entirely. Loved the hide. TFTC

27-Jan-13
This one took a bit longer to find, but once we were standing in the right spot looking the right way, my partner spotted it. Thanks Sirius for the replacement paper! A tricky and excellent hide, thank you!

20-Dec-12
This one was out lying on the ground...log saturated. Dried out container and placed a notebook page for a log....should be good for 30-40 visits. Can't understand how this one was out...as it would be impossible to dislodge...unless it wasn't placed back properly...similar to the other two. Reckon this was the best hide...and if it hadn't been on the ground...it may have taken some finding. A brilliant series....Many thanks FTC's...Cheers.

Thankyou for this cache! Heaps of fun to find! We appreciate the time and effort put in to each cache. Thankyou!

TFTC! A very cleaver group of caches! Found with Elcato Very Happy

Another awesome find on our walk, so much fun you have created. TFTC

04-Sep-12
Right - tripped at the third hurdle.
I'd like to blame it on being distracted by a phone call from Mrs RC to say Littlest Cyclist had gone missing (later located), but that would be underestimating my ability to be blind.
Thanks - next trip.

01-Jul-12
Second find for the day and another quick find. More lazy wallabies! I really can sympathise with our canine companion. I can't help but think that those wallabies would appreciate being popular and very truly run after but we weren't going to make it so!

23-Jun-12
Found this one fairly easily, a fun little series and very well put together. TFTC

06-Jun-12
We decided to increase the difficulty of this series by doing it in reverse. Great cache and a memorable series. A lot of thought and effort has gone into it and we enjoyed it immensely. TNLNSL. Thankyou for organising the hunt.

As all who have done this series of 6 caches have mentioned, what a terrific set of well thought out, cunningly crafted and placed caches!
Thank you so much for spending what would have to be an awful lot of time constructing these hides and probably an equal amount of time placing them.
You have given a lot of pleasure to many people already and will continue to do so into the future. I can't find these caches listed on the .com site just the .com.au site so some people must be missing out.

Third cache of a great series of caches in this area! TFTC!

12-Mar-12
The enthusiasm mounts when approaching the third of this marvelous series, all of which were a delight to discover. Had a most enjoyable walk through the bush, accompanied by sounds of running water, roos, kookaburras, other birds, butterflies - and even ticks!
Following the same theme, but another different style of hide. Thanks yet again, Tassie Trekkers.

After going through the burnt section and retrieving the remains of North Tassie, I wandered down the road and set off in search of this cache. I think I should have started a little earlier as by the time I got back to my car, it was dark. I did go and find 3 others in this series but didn't want to risk getting locked in looking for the last 2.
This cache was found very quickly, but I did have some trouble trying to remove it from its hidey hole.
Thanks for the cache, and the series.

29-Oct-11
While my wife attended a conference in Launceston I was allowed to go caching for two days in and around the Launceston Area. In the end I managed to go through to Derby and get the icem cache I wanted to find, through to Kayena and check my caches there and clear out the majority of Launceston Traditionals that were actually there. The only one that I failed to get was "Power to the People", where I simply ran out of time.

Another quick find in this great and variable series, with a very nice theme running through them.

Hi Tassie Trekkers
Left Branching Out #2 and tracked to this cache as quickly as I could. The wind has dropped a little but the clouds are still gathering. Detour three presented no problems but the cache took a little bit longer to finds. Increasing difficulty may-be.
Still haven't had to use any clues as yet now that the eyes have been opened.
Butted up to this cache and logged it at 1214 hours.
The ants were plentiful here and the mozzis were ferocious. Like Japanese zeros on the attack. If they were any bigger, they'd carry you away!!
TFTC and cheers; OldSaint.

26-Aug-11
Nice walk along a track have never been too. Thanks for bringing us up here Tassie Trekkers. Great hide also. TFTC.

21-Aug-11
A great hide! Clapping I needed to be very observant here to notice the odd branch. TNLN. TFTC!

27-Jul-11
3 down, 3 to go...bugger mobile phones, had to be caled away! TFTC

26-Jul-11
A Challenging series of caches that obviosuly a lot of time and effort had gone into. Clapping Thanks Tassie Trekkers

23-Jul-11
Another fantastic hide...many thanks

17-Jul-11
Excellent hide!

We cannot fathom how much time you have spent on this series, needless to say we had a ball finding them, this one was a beauty too!

Thanks!

16-Jul-11
Another excellent hide and found quickly. Had to give up on the others for the day as we ran out of daylight.

15-Jul-11
A nice quick find here, in keeping with the other hides in the series.
Another good hide in a great area. TFTC

13-Jul-11
Once at gz I spotted something a bit in keeping with the theme making this a quick find. Probably luck as it was a great hide. Many thanks

09-Jul-11
A find for Mr B for this one. Mind you he left the rest of us looking in one area and wondered off with the GPS to make the find on this one. Think there was a strategy there as the muggle friends were doing better than the "experienced" cachers!! Thanks.

07-Jul-11
Whilst there is a very definite theme to the caches in this series, each is very distinctive with carefully planned and extremely well constructed hides with the coordinates being very accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through this part of the reserve, sharing the company of wallabies, an echidna (which we though should be hibernating), black cockatoos and robin red breasts. This cache took some time to find - if caches have gender, this is male! We were surprised that it had remained unfound - so, we will claim the FTF at 10:40. Thanks for a great series TassieTrekkers
