Description

Find messages that have been spelt with Flowers!

Why put your message on a sign when you can Say it with Flowers.

Your task is to find messages that have been delivered through the arrangement of flowers, usually on a hillside, to spell out a word.

In you log you must include;

1. A photo that you have taken of the flower message,

2. The coordinates and a description of the area that the message is located in,

3. Your thoughts on Why?

Each flower message can only be logged once; you may log as many different messages as you find!

To get the ball rolling, I spotted these flowers while visiting Perth. The message is to welcome people to CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) to be held in Perth in late October 2011. The arrangement will probably not last much longer afer that.

Spring is flower time especially in Toowoomba Qld. Toowoomba is world famous for its annual Carnival of Flowers and that 10 day event has just concluded. Council gardeners spend a lot of time getting their gardens ready for the visitors and this garden is located in Laurel Bank Park close to the CBD of the city. The theme for these gardens is A LONG TIME AGO and there is a raised viewing platform adjacent to these gardens so that you can see the complete design. I have attached several photos to show how colourful the display is.

This flower bed always has something written in flowers. At this time it has a simple message. LIONS. I figure it has to do with the lions club but why them exactly I don't know.

Whilst driving through Murray Bridge this morning we saw a flower garden with a message. With a combination of violet pansies and white sweet alice, the message read HSM with musical notation at either end. The message is promoting performances of "High School Musical" in Murray Bridge in the near future. Two photos have ben added to the Gallery:: the first shows the message in flowers with one of us behind the display; the second provides details of the upcoming performance of High School Musical. We were driving past here in the car the other day, and I happened to look out the window, and saw this flower message! Snapped a quick pic as we were stopped at the lights (I wasn't driving).

I don't think this has been here for very long, but it just says Perth, and it's right at Barrack Square. I think it looks nice Smile

Thanks for the cache hgl!

Hi hgl
This Floral Clock is found in the Botanical Gardens on the Domain, Hobart, Tasmania.
It is placed here to remind us of the beauty by which we are surrounded "all the time!" if we would but look.
During the appropriate season, the arms of the clock are filled with pansies and it is even a more beautiful reminder then.
We all need to know the time at times!
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.

You know, as there's only 3 of these in Canberra, my chances of getting this one was slim.

But alas! The third one!
On Northborne avenue, just as you pass Dickson.

5th of 6 today. Thought we might get this flower bed before someone else logs it! This is located in Kambah, ACT. At the moment, I can't figure out what it says at the top, but I can tell you that there is a white ribbon at the bottom, so I think it's about either harmony, remembrance or cancer research. Good idea. TFTC hgl. Clapping

McPhan beat me to one in Canberra I was looking at, so with a trip to Fiji coming up I thought I might be able to find something there.

This 'Say it With Flowers' is at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club (DGRC) around at Port Denarau, about 10 k's from Nadi.

Thanks for the locationless....it was fun trying to find one.

This flower bed, unfortunately not in bloom, is at the intersection of High Street and Mulgoa Road in Penrith. It serves as a welcome to Penrith sign although it does spell various other things at times as it seems to be a favorite target for vandals.
This is quite visible from the air as you can see from the Google Earth photos.

445. Well there's a few photos but not much chop. The first from my Montana in low light mode and the second from my phone using flash - sometimes it works well othertimes....

This is the central flower display on Canberra As you head down Northbourne Avenue towards Parliament House. I was sure the display would have something to do with Floriade which is on at the moment but nope - it's the Red Cross. The waiting time for this prime position sometimes blows out to longer than elective surgery wait times - 2-2.5 years.

TFTC and the florista.
