Description

A virtual cache to show off your snowman making skills

Rights, let's see what you can do.   Construct your best effort snowman or snowwoman or snow beast.  To log, you must include a photo of it holding your GPS.  Points will be awarded for creativity.  Not expecting a blizzard of logs just yet unless like me, you are currently holidaying in Northern Hemisphere (Japan).  Thanks to the Noikmeister for the inspiration!

This geocache listing no longer follows the guidelines required for a Locationless cache. https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache As such we will archive it and encourage the CO to place a locationless cache that meets the new guidelines.

This was a snowman that the two youngest DaFiChNi's put together outside Waterfall Valley Hut on the Overland Track in Tasmania. Hiking in the snow - such fun! Thanks Agent Basil for providing this locationless cache.

While the kids were entertaining themselves in the snow, I went on some adventures!

I saw this beautiful snowman on a snowfield and went looking for a locationless for it and found this one. After a long day of skiing HanorahTLG had enough of it and wanted to make a snowman. Well who am I to argue?
*Overall Experience: 5*

Our qualifying pic was taken in Tenterfield winter 2015. Made the dash up there from Brisbane to see the snow.

Sunny Corner Snow Man
Back Creek Road
Sunny Corner, NSW

Nope. It's not the best snowman you'll ever see, but it survived three days after the Blue Mountains snow storm.

Located near two trigs . . .

Leura, NSW Snowperson at Leura Mall

Finally had a chance to log this locationless!

We had lots of snow in the Blue Mountains and someone on Leura Mall constructed not one but two 'snowpersons' -- one very nicely dressed.

Here are my photos . . .

Actually this was a couple of weeks ago up at Booroomba.... Despite spending virtually every weekend there some years back I had never seen it in snow (snow and rock climbing are not really a good combination). However the weekend we were there there was only moderate scrambling involved. Mind you the wander up of course in on the southern side in the shade and keeps nice and cool. Good for keeping enough snow to make snowmen from. The northern faces were nice and warm for a climb to be honest. We made these three tiny snowmen and were then put to shame a 100m or so up the path by a couple of Pommies making this huge thing up on top of a boulder. It was still there several hours later when we returned where as ours had vanished. Sigh....

I may of built ontop of someone else's snowman. They had a puny one! I made it bigger and better!!

My fingers were too cold to deliver a three-dimensional snowperson, but here is my two-dimensional entry.

"Christmas in July" was held on Mount Wellington last night and we erected this little snowman to help celebrate the event.
Tried to stop red tag stealing my snowman but she got at it later and wouldn't give me back my GPS.
However, a great night was had by all and I got my photo's after we built this little guy!
Tried to get red tag with a snowball, but she's too small (needs a good feed) to hit without having a good sights to take aim with!!
Enjoyed doing this cache at a caching event.
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.

I don't think Im going to score many points for my dismal effort in snowman building skills.
I waa at an event tonight called Christmas in July that Dippy and DDT's put on. It was an amazing night with the snow falling. Our hut had a wood fire and xmas decorations and more food than you could wish for (just like christmas) Very Happy
My snowman looked like he could do with a good feed as he was a little on the small side

Thanks for the cache Agent Basil

This photo was taken 2 years ago while caching and enjoying the snow on Mount Wellington.

At this time the Iphone was the only GPS, so unable to get it in the photo

Hey AB,

Currently holidaying in Vancouver and headed up to the 'Peak of Vancouver', Grouse Mountain today. Helps of snow still around....some drifts up to 3 metres high. Checked out the Grizzly Bear enclosure and then set about making my snowperson....outside the enclosure of course. Mrs SdL did one as well, so you have two here for the price for one.

Hope you like them......and thanks for a fun locationless.

Today we planned to look for a cache (GC1FAAY Rocks At The End Of Rainbow) on the edge of Great Lake in Tasmania. What we didn't anticipate was a monster low coming through yesterday which brought a great blast of Antarctic air and with it, a reasonable dump of snow overnight. It was about a 4km walk (one way) from where we left the car to the cache and there were regular snow showers as we walked. It was a very pleasant walk - the snow flurries were swirling around and settling but the surrounding trees protected us from the bitter south westerly winds for most of the walk. Along the way there were a couple of reasonable drifts of snow. Then we remembered about this cache. We hadn't come prepared but our pockets provided some of the essentials while the rest were found on the ground - we did resist using some of the copious amounts of wombat poo for eyes. A photo of April the snow woman has been added to the Gallery. Thanks for offering this locationless cache Agent Basil - it gave us permission to release the inner child in each of us. As there are no other logs, we will claim the FTF.
