Description

Welcome to another of Dubbo's street art pieces.

This art piece is Colleen's Thorn Bird painted by Poncho Army. Wellington born Colleen McCullough wrote the popular novel 'The Thorn Birds', after which she gave up neuroscience to write. The Thorn Birds was also made into a TV miniseries. If you've got kids, maybe warn them that it is a little greusome.

This is a virtual geocache - there is no physical geocache container to be found. Rather, to log a find for this virtual, you will need to take a photo of yourself or one of your team at this artwork and answer the question found in this listing. Being part of a street art series, I encourage you to be creative in the photo you take for this. I have placed one example in the gallery which you can copy if you can't come up with any fresh ideas.

If you like this virtual geocache, please give it a thumbs up with your comment.

Another quick find while on a walk around town. There is some interesting art work around Dubbo.
Thanks for the cache No_Tomorrow.

After finding Kate Leigh we took a break to go and wash the van and do a few domestic chores [Hate how they interfere with our caching day!]. Punched the next one in the GPS and couldn't believe how close it was to the last one we did. Duh!!! More organization needed I think!!
Even managed to get a car driving through in the photo here.
Must read the Thorn Birds again, it is so long since I read it and hundreds of books ago that I don't remember much about it. That's one good thing about getting old and forgetful, you can read all your old favourites again.
Thanks.

#GA1647 - 15:16; Day 30 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965. Today was a shorter run from Nyngan to Nevertire, Warren, Trangie, Narromine and on to Dubbo before heading to Parkes for the night. Sdl and I decided to spend the rest of the day in and around Dubbo and left our fellow cachers in Narromine. After picking up a few trigs around the outskirts, we were now headed into suburbia and picking up a few more caches, including a stack of virtuals like this one. Only a short walk around the corner and I had a snap, much to the amusement of a couple of muggles parked in the driveway, who had also witnessed Sdl doing the same thing a few moments earlier. Found with LuckyL10n while on the way home from our Alice Springs/Darwin road trip....

Walked and drove around town gathering the required photos and enjoyed most of the art works. Some were to my taste, some weren't, but then that's art isn't. Its about what we see...

Anyway, a neat way to spend a couple of hours, which included a lunch stop...so all good and thanks No_Tomorrow.

Staying in Dubbo today for a couple of days on our way to the Event in Alice Springs and spotted this series. Grabbed a couple more of them this morning and enjoyed the artwork showcased here.

Snapped required pic, thanks No_Tomorrow for showing us the art around town.
