Description
Lighthouses of VIC - White Lighthouse
The White Lighthouse at Queenscliff is the lower light of the two lighthouses at Queenscliff, and along with two steel towers guides ships through the Rip and into Port Phillip Bay.
The white lighthouse at Queenscliff was built 1862 to replace an earlier wooden lighthouse erected in 1853. It is built of the same bluestone that was used to build the Black Lighthouse but was painted white to distinguish it in daylight. The new light was built in conjunction with the White (Low) Lighthouse and therefore had many similarities in design.
The lighthouse forms the front, or low, of a system of lights that gives mid-channel direction when in line with the High Light.
Height: 22 metres
Elevation: 29 metres
Pattern: Continuous White and Red Sectors

Thanks Team MavEtJu for an easily accessible one.
I love the different coffee shops I find. I love every different thing I photograph. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. I enjoy taking my time and meandering around rather than going from one cache to the next and so on… The geocaches are a great bonus of my travels. It's amazing to see the country in the eyes of a Geocacher. Thank you for adding this cache to my real-life treasure hunt. I appreciate your efforts Team MavEtJu.

Queenscliff is such a beautiful area and it was great to spend the long weekend in the vicinity.
The weather was perfect and most conducive to our Geocaching activities.
Thanks for bringing us here Team MavEtJu, via your Lighthouse Virtuals.
First black, then wihite. No problems at this location today, not even needing to step out of the car into the cold wind and chilling setting sun today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for the geocache placed here for us to find today.
