Description
Have you seen Ned Kelly anywhere on your travels?
As we toured around our great country, we have come across a number of objects relating to the memory of Ned Kelly. There is the very famous one at Glenrowan in Victoria but others are scattered far and wide.
Late in 2015 we visited Warracknabeal in the central west of Victoria. Whilst we were caching we came across a former church building - it could have been a school, convent or presbytery, as it had a cross at the top of the highest gable.
We thought nothing much more of the building until something caught or eye. There was a niche towards the top of the gable where a religious statue would have been mounted. To our surprise and mirth the religious icon had been replaced by another icon - Ned Kelly!!
So, where have you seen Ned?
To log a find for this cache
- you must photograph a 3-dimentional object depicting Ned Kelly (photographs of posters, images on walls etc are not acceptable)
- the object must show his armour and part of Ned's body such as arms and/or legs; a photograph of Ned's armour alone is not acceptable (as often seen on a letterbox)
- your photo must be uploaded with your log (it is not necessary to have yourself or a GPS in the photo because it is not possible with many occurrences of Ned)
- and, of course, the coordinates where you found Ned
Each location can only be logged once and each cacher can only log one find for this cache.
So, where can you find Ned?

What more of a prominant place than his last area of freedom.
Glenrowan in Victoria.
This one sits in the main street on the Kelly Land building.
Such is life.

I found this Ned letterbox when on my way to Hillwood after another cache.
pretty cool

Subsequently, This house just outside Parattah in Tasmania uses that fame as a letterbox
Its construction uses natural materials for arms and legs; sheet metal for his body armour and a bucket for his head protection
TFTC and cheers

My FINDS: GCA 4001; GC 3728; TOT 7729
It was an excellent piece of work. Not only was he holding the letterbox, in his right hand was a gun, and his left leg was shown complete with boot.
We didn’t have time to stop and admire the artistic efforts though, as we were on a mission to capture a hundred GC caches in a day, which we succeeded in doing.
Thanks for the Locationless 2y’stassies, this one was certainly different.
Ned outside the Ned Kelly's Motel and servo.....hopefully guarding it and not meaning you're about to be robbed. A long way from where Ned became notorious which makes you think he roams a lot further these days than when he was alive.

Thanks 2Y'stassies....a fun little locationless. And I saw your Warracknabeal Ned today as we passed through town.
•the object must show his armour and part of Ned's body such as arms and/or legs; a photograph of Ned's armour alone is not acceptable
If all the conditions are not me you will be asked to delete your log or change your Find to a Note.
Ned is carved out of a wooden post and looks pretty good guarding this mailbox with his rifle.
Thanks 2y'stassies.
I knew I took this picture for a reason and not just because he was such an interesting bloke!
Thanks for the chance to put Ned to good use
This Mail Box is located on the D'Agulair Highway West of Blackbutt Qld. Photo is from my log for You've got Mail. My Ned Kelly is a full bodied 3D construction ( Head and arms and body and legs). When the sale of the house was completed a few years ago this Ned Kelly apparently according to local legend was not included and an amount of money had to be spent to keep this mail box on site as it had become a local landmark and many people used it to identify the driveway to the residence when visiting.
