TFTC found with Crack n Lee Lee whilst exploring the area. Great views of the valley
Found with 2beez whilst enjoying a short break in the area. Thanks Rhinogeo for creating for us all to enjoy. Cache in good condition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? Travelling through the King Valley on our way back to Melbourne. This was a great lookout today in the sunshine. A stroll up the track where G checkout out the infrastructure and L searched for the cache. Success added another yellow smile to our map. Thanks Rhinogeo for keeping this oldie in play for us to find. Cache in good condition.
Staying in a Yurt on top of a hill in Myrrhee, we went for a drive to Powers Lookout and found this cache on the way back. This little lookout has great views but the area needs to be sign posted as it was hard to find the road in and out. More information needs to be put up on the main road as this is a great little lookout. Found a nice big cache quite easily. SL. TFTC. took 2 swaps and left quite a few more. Thanks for putting a big cache here for us to find and enjoy the lookout. Cheers.
Working up the King Valley and wi ding my way home decided to take the Whitfield Mansfield Rd. Finding seven caches on the way was a bonus!!Saw some great views on a magnificent day!!TFTC
On a road trip to the north of the State and currently camping at Edi Cutting. Today we headed out to explore the area and locate some caches, this being one of them. We were able to drive to within a few metres of GZ and it wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. TF placing the cache for us to find on our travels. TNLN SL.
It was super long weekend time! The forecast was for cracking weather and a group of us were all set up along the Delatite Arm on Lake Eildon. The fish attack event popped up after plans had already been made, however once I realised it was only a little over an hour from camp, OzHockeyChick and I hatched a plan to attend. With yaks onboard, we set off for the event with plenty of time up our sleeve, only to arrive 10mins late. Siri wanted to take us down all sorts of 4WD only tracks to make the 7km as the crow flies journey across the mountain. It was more like a 28km long way around on bitumen.Once on the water, the flotilla of 15 vessels, carrying 17 crew, set off to collect the water bound treasure. Each taking it in turns to set sights for dry land and make a find. All 18 caches were found and I celebrated with a swim at the end.We stopped in for a few extra caches on the way back to camp and this was one of them.A nice old cache to add to the collection of finds. Thanks Rhinogeo for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------The 12 Days of Cachemas series is now live. With a long weekend of beautiful weather, we were camped just over an hour away at Delatite Arm Reserve, so it was a no-brainer to throw the yaks on the roof and head to Lake William Hovell for a paddle. After a lovely paddle and a bit of lunch, we headed back to camp. We stopped here on the way to find this lovely old cache. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Rhinogeo ~~
In the back from Powers Lookout and noticed this one. Another beautiful view. Such a glorious day to be out geocaching with my better half

Found on a trip to Powers Lookout today. Another beautiful spot to stop and admire the views. Someone had decided to camp very close to GZ but we explained we are Geocaching and luckily they knew about it. As we were heading back to the car a guy on a motorbike stopped to also admire the views so we ended up having a bit of a chat with him before heading back home. Thanks again to Rhinogeo for placing this cache!
After spending a few days exploring the mountain ranges north of Mansfield it was time to get back home. With the current "find 100 caches in 1 month" souvenir challenge it was also time to start ramping up the caching finds! Heading south from the Edi Cutting campground I slowly made my way back to Melbourne on a gloriously sunny autumn day.
I revisited this GZ after finding the cache a few years ago. Amazingly the original logbook is still in the cache!

Well that wasn't too bad, nice little stroll up the hill. The views are amazing. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Obviously the access to this lookout got too dangerous for it to have signs on the road, but lucky for cachers we find it anyway. TFTC.
It's nice finding an ammo tin; a 'proper' cache. Favourite point. I left a new gold piece of jewelry in it's black, velvet envelope. TFTC Rhinogeo.

After completing half of my mission yesterday, It was now day and it was time to find a few caches in the Benalla LGA before heading to the centre of the Wangaratta LGA and then moving on to Craig’s Hut for a CITO.
I was now on my way to Craig's hut but I was passing by this one so I had to stop for a look.
A short detour off the main road had me at this one, a short time later the log was stamped.
**Thanks to Rhinogeo for placing this cache.**

Todays planned day trip for Craig's Hut to make our #2000 find was finally here! Super early start this morning lead to an awesome day exploring both Mt Buller and Mt Stirling some tracks certainly tested the old rig out, but we made it home in once piece. Today brought back lots of fond memories of visiting this area with my granddad many years ago.
Some massive storms must of passed through this area last night as there are branches and fallen trees all over the place. A nice view from here!

Found this couch so easy obviously the last person just chucked it on the ground out in the middle of the open every place to cache In a way that it should be thank you for bringing us here
Parked near the edge with the best views and walked toward the cache and to our surprise a man was camping here but must not have heard us coming. He walked by us completely naked! We said g'day and moved on. Thanks for the cache!

Nice little spot to find - the sun was playing hide and seek behind the clouds and the wind was a bit cool, but there are some great views along the main track to get you here across and down to the valley. TFTC
Found 9:130am, 2nd of the day for me but my partner cat' had had it.
On the way to challenge Lake William Howell to cough up a cache or two with catnap777 and we stopped by here for me to also claim this one and to take in the magnificent views that cat' had seen once before herself when she was making her own claim here back when she was a relative newbie.
TFTC Rhinogeo, it was found clean and dry in good condition.

Definitely an out of the way spot for a picnic and as for Terra Lapor google turned up a blank. I’m on a multi mission and google has sent me a back way (or maybe it was an interesting post lockdown choice..) to Buller and Baw Baw. Who’s in a hurry? The only urgency is getting there before it snows and season opens so happy to enjoy a cold winters day more than 5 km from home.! TFTC and the fun
Took the rough track in but got there quicker. Took a short walk to find the cache then another to get a photo. Great view though a little hazy today. TFTC ️
Found with Lazdaz on 05/01/2021. Great views off the main road. Thanks for bringing us to this spit
Now that the Vic-NSW border has reopened we have business in Sydney and a week of road tripping & caching to work towards several caching goals.

This was a fantastic view here, awesome over the valley. So lucky these oldies are still in operation.

Coming back from Mansfield where I was helping someone move and thought the smoky King Valley would be the way to go. The views really didn't live up to it with the smoke haze haha. Anyway might have to go back when these fires are under control.
Took the hardest way in of course! Great views even on a hazy day

Walked up the track, as we had borrowed my brothers more comfortable car for the long drive from ferntree gully to wangaratta and I wasn't sure how it would go on the rough track. As we got close to GZ day1976 got a call so as I made the find he was chatting away. His contribution to the find was handing me the stamp.
Ilukaperi and I were on a mission to bring ammo cans to the big smoke. Well, we were heading up to Wangaratta to pick up a delivery of ammo cans for people back in Melbourne. Anyhoo, why head up the boring old Hume Hwy, when you can take the back roads? So we decided to cache between Mansfield and Wangaratta, via Whitfield. I took over the driving at Mansfield, either because she was scared of driving on dirt roads or she wanted a good laugh at me trying to drive a manual car for the first time in 10 years. Whatever the case, I had done a bit of caching along this route before, so she had more finds than I did today, but not this one.
Unfortunately I didn't have too much to do with finding this one. I had a phone call when we were about 10 meters from GZ, so while I chatted Ilukaperi made her way to GZ, found the cache, opened it up, signed it and put it back. All whilst I was on the phone. I did hand her the stamp to sign it with, so I'll take credit for a small part of the find.

We were heading over the range from Mansfield today and, with plenty of time to spare, I took the opportunity to take a small detour down the track to the enjoy the view. While I was there, I wandered up the centre track to the cache for a quick find in the bush.
Thanks **Rhinogeo** for another cache placed in a great location... and also for keeping it going on for so long.

En route from Whitfield towards the general direction of Benalla where I was expected for lunch with friends collecting caches along a wandering weaving path. This was my first one for the day which necessitated a short detour. I was rewarded not only with this generously sized cache but views of mist filled valleys TFTC Rhinogeo
So the Mega is over for another year but there are still more geocaches to find....
Sorry for the generic log but now they are alll starting to merge into one in my brain.

Nothing like an ammo in the bush. Loved this one from my ol mate Rhinogeo- brilliant spot mate. Once for the camp database!
Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience. This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east and back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake! [^]

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
After staying in Corowa overnight, we headed over the border into Victoria. Our first task was to visit another waypoint of a multi which started in Canberra. Then we visited a section of the Warby-Ovens National Park to locate a trig point which was required to meet another step on the GCA Local Government Area (LGA) Trophy Challenge. Whilst there heavy rain started and much of the walk to and from the Trig Point was in the poor conditions. There were three GCA caches closeby and we took the opportunity to look for those. Then we headed back to Rutherglen to look for another trig point before going to Wangaratta for lunch. We took the opportunity to look for a small number of caches in Wangaratta. With the rain persisting, we then headed south towards Whitford looking for caches in the Spirit of Salts series. At times we sat in the car on the side of the road because the rain was just too heavy. From Whitford we continued south through the hills and finally arrived at Mansfield where we stayed the night. By now the rain had stopped. We checked into the motel straight away so that we could get out of our wet clothes. Despite the inclement weather, we still managed a reasonable days caching.
It was late in the afternoon as we neared Mansfield. Accurate coordinates and the cache out in the open led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Before leaving we rebuilt the hide so that the container was hidden from casual view, Thanks Rhinogeo for the cache.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 408 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 97.0. We are now entertaining the possibility that we might be able to achieve our gaol before this trip ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

Firstly apologies for my generic logs. I am staying with a cousin so can’t be too anti social but need to keep up with logging all caches before the weekend.
Most caches were found to be in good condition, though some that have been reported as needing maintenance still need some TLC. All caches were signed, many as SG, which is what I often do in small caches to save space.
Today we commenced our journey to the mega event in Alexandra with the daunting goal of achieving my next milestone - 4000 finds, with 99 caches still to find.
In deference to Pa, a friendly but often impatient muggle, I was up early, on the road by 6:20 am and didn’t start caching until after leaving Wangaratta. We travelled down the Wangaratta to Mansfield Road collecting 21 caches on the way. Some I sacrificed to keep Pa happy with our progress; some were quick, easy finds; others took far too long especially for caches that were only 1-2 difficulty and I had one DNF - again supposedly a relatively easy find but no luck for me. ????
Many thanks to all COs for placing these caches for us to enjoy during our travels.

A beautiful day to be out with the Empire after completing the High Voltage Series. A fantastic day was had with many laughs and great memories made. What a beautiful part of Australia to explore. Without Geocaching I would never have found so many interesting places in my travels. We really are so fortunate.
A short search, found cache, stamped and returned... En route to Mansfield after a well earned coffee in Poreunkah.

A nice big cache in an awesome spot. I wonder how many people get to see this view.
After spending several days stuck inside the caravan recovering from my short stint in hospital, I really wanted to get outside and amongst some scrub to recuperate! [^]
Having had a few geocaches calling my name throughout this enforced time of inactivity as well as missing out on the JLWE in Edithburgh, I was desperate today for a drive and a possible FTF gave me the impteus required to get going.
Contacting dalerious, I arranged to meet him at 1 of the 2 possible FTFs since he had been away for the weekend and was coming in from the opposite direction and as it turned out, that was exactly where we met since the Corolla made it that far into Toombullup
So while there were 2 DNFs , they weren't Did Not Finds so much as DID NOT FINISHes since I didn't actually get to look for either of them but have placed a DNF to remind me of the fun each one was while DID NOT FINISHing! , there was 4 found caches too and 1 of them was a FTF
Amazing views! Need I say more[?] OK then, great cache too! [^]
An unexpected couple of bonuses just for heading to another unfound green box on a map [^]
Sunset was stunning and the camera took a hiding!

We are spending two weeks in Wodonga, house-sitting for our daughter. Today we did a round trip to Myrrhee, to visit the maze, and back via King Valley.
We were heading to Powers lookout and spotted this cache on a dirt road, off to the side. We weren't sure whether this was the lookout, but the views were spectacular and the cache was soon found. The GeoPrius wasn't too happy about the dirt road, but we persuaded her to give it a go and all was well.
The cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing, signed the log and replaced the container as found.
Thanks Rhinogeo for the cache.

After a late-morning breakfast at nearby Whitfield (we're attanding the Wangaratta Jazz Festival with the obligatory late nights) we took a delightful drive on nthe "back road" (that was soon going to be used for a car rally) to the cache site. We had the area to ourselves and it was apleasure to find a very large container. A favorite point for the location and for the container.
Parked on the main road and walked into this one with Mrs.K. On the Binos birding. Gee the views are amazing at the end of this trail.

Go collect all the clues we missed from Spirit of Salts, she said. While Doc goes to work, the witch will go by myself, she said. Drive into an unknown area late in the afternoon, she said. Run over and pull away several fallen branches and trees, she said. Have severe issues with heights, but drive up there anyway, she said. Found the cache and signed the log, she said. Thanks Rhinogeo, a great spot to visit but I was happy to get down onto more level ground, especially since the sun was rapidly disappearing.
More amazing views from up here, a place we've never been before, so thanks for introducing it to us. I love the old school picnic tables up here. Thanks for the hide.
this should have been an easy find but the GPS had decided to reset itself yet again and the map setting was all wrong, so took us a while searching in completely the wrong spot, but perseverance and going back to basics and we found it! TFTC

Another great little spot that caching has shown me. Always good to find camp spots like this to pull of into if its been a long night of driving.
We were not going to make too many more stops today, after turning Harry's lookout into a smilie. However, the CO's name, plus the promise of more valley views, left us unable to resist. Yay, the 3rd such sturdy container in two days: much appreciated, Rhinogeo!
Thanks for the hide and the views!
No more stopping now until lunch time.

I really should have grabbed this one on last year's Great Vic but that hill was killing me so I passed it by! [8)] Anyhoo, that made it a priority on today's trip up to the high country and a quick find it was at 15:30 so I was soon on my way.
TNLNSL. Thanks Rhinogeo.

Today we travelled from Mansfield to Whitfield and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Loved the view from the top of the hill!

On our [trip around the world](http://www.hoppundweg.piekar.de/) we came to Australia as well. We started in Tasmania, rented a campervan in Melbourne and went up the Eastcoast to Cairns. Then we drove all the way to the Red Centre. We finished in Darwin. We searched many caches and found almost every cache we searched for . Thanks to all the owners of these caches. Now, 2 years later, we recognized, we will never be able to log every cache seperately... So: Sorry for this standard logtext and thanks for one of the caches, which accompanied us on our journey.
Together with silli1310 we went on holiday for a year. After visiting Tasmania for the last three weeks, our 2-month road trip from Melbourne to Darwin along the east coast started today. Besides the scenic highlights and the sights in the cities, we also wanted to find a cache every now and then. Since we live in the "real" Alps ourselves, it was obligatory to drive through the Australian Alps. Since we had already been on the road for a while, we took the opportunity to enjoy the view and stretch our legs a little. By chance, there was also a geocache here, so we quickly searched for it. Thank you very much for the break in our journey.
#1706 - Found by B on a cloudy but occasionally sunshine morning after riding fully loaded up from Whitfield. The track in was rideable to the Telstra facility then used shank's pony to cache area. Good easy find. Had breakfast on the access road near the telstra facility and overlooking the countryside to the north. Thanks to Rhinogeo for the cache and the reason for coming to this great undeveloped vista site. Most worthy of a favourite pint for this secret viewpoint. All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle ride.
Such a great view from up here, I expected the track up to be 4WD but our sedan had no problems. Unfortunately the sky was very hazy which prevented my camera from doing justice to the panorama, and distance from home precludes taking the shots on the early morning or at dusk. However thanks very much for placing a cache here to bring us to this spot
I loved this beautiful big cache being here. I would have liked to leave a TB here but need to wait until fire season is over for this sort of location. The view was great. TFTC
