While the extensive search returned no joy, i did notice an open container that looked like it once was a cache.
Nice area just a shame that this cache is missing.

After searching for a while read logs and yeah...this one needs replacing. Nice bit of history though. Shame the cache has effectively been nicked.
No find on this one did "squib" return it yet" onward bound" -if not maybe an idea to disable or replace it yourself .Will try another time x
Easy find. Sadly lid was only half on and cache was full of fairly foul smelling water. Took cache to see if anything could be salvaged....log book very sodden. Will dry and return cache next time I'm passing through but it really doesn't look salvageable. Bit of a sad first find really.
The town is nice and quiet today with plenty of opportunity to go about caching without anyone noticing. A nice easy one for us.

It's been a long time since I was at the Boonah show ground! Enjoyed a walk through the grounds, soaking up the afternoon sunshine and trying to remember the smell of cattle and the sound of loud speaker announcements! TFTC
My GPS was a fair bit out but found it anyway. Popular shortcut home from school I see. TFTH
It was just over 3 years since I posted my DNF on this one and I was determined to find it this time.
I'm sure this hiding spot was not here last time I was. This time the cache was easy to locate even with people in the nearby pavilions.
After logging the cache we heard the sounds of roosters crowing. I remembered that a long time friend lived locally and had show birds so we check the meeting out and located him. It was good to catch up with him and give them a surprise.

Found this after having a lengthy conversation with the caretaker Bob. He also told us about the pecan nut tree close by and encouraged us to help ourselves. Spent an afternoon cracking the nuts, they were tasty. TNTC TNLN
Found this cache while on holiday in Brisbane and surrounds. Thanks For The Cache TNLN SL
Thanks for the cache onward bound. We were onward bound today to Warwick and glad to have this cache to claim and log on our way. What a shame so many of these branch lines have closed down. I think so anyway. MMmmm - I wonder why they changed the name from Blumbergville to Boonah? Thanks for the info.

Coordinates were a little off but found it eventually - took small book and added some little goodies.
At first was not sure if we where in the show ground or a caravan park? Soon found our way to GZ and was just leaving as someone headed over with cleaning gear.
JABs.

Had some issues here on the exact location of GZ. GPSr insisted it was over near the "cookery". I looked, crawled, poked and felt all around but no luck. Peering around in the dark, I spotted a more likely looking "ramp" and soon had the cache in hand. TN/LN/SL. All this and the added bonus of a barking dog and lots of open windows overlooking GZ. A truly rewarding cache experience .
I think L&L would have given this up as a bad joke if I hadn't pointed out an obvious structure to search. We had spent way too much time on the 'wrong spot' but then found easily when we looked in the right spot.[^] TFTC
Out for an afternoon caching this one was a little difficult as tho Muggle children nearby were not going anywhere in a hurry TNLN SL TFTC
All the previous entries say easy find. I crawled under ,felt here , felt there ,looked here, looked there and came up empty handed !!! Should I hang my head in shame or has it been muggled ???
Very easy find with sticker boy - we both found this last year when we were introduced to geocaching by aquilla, but didn't have an account yet. Was in the area again today and logged ourselves. TFTC. Took Magnifying glass, left paddle ball game and sherriff badge.

Nice quick find thanks to the hint. We parked on the wrong side and had to walk across the showgrounds in the heat of the day - phew! Interesting location worth the effort. TFTC.
Quick find today by the Downey Clan. The GPS wanted to take us up to the top of the hill. But from up there it was obvious we needed to be somewhat lower, so quick drive back down hill to the park, and the geobrats hunted down the prize.

Another interesting bit of history. Found the cache quick which was good as muggles arrived just as I was leaving. TFTH.
At least the old railway building are being use for something. Better than allowing them to rot in place like so many others in the country. Preserves the history a bit.
Good hide away from prying eyes. Heaps of caravans parked here today.
TFTC onward bound - love the play on words in the title of the series.

We were a bit exposed doing this cache, as there was a barking dog, both the kids were being really noisy, but fortunately we found the cache pretty quickly.

this was our first find. we swapped a magnifying glass for a lucky coin. tftc slinky malinky. (-:
As train buffs were were interested in finding the station. When we found it it was unlike any others we have seen in Queensland and unfortunately didn't match with some photos we have of the station from the 1900s. Perhaps the 1900s station was replaced at some stage.
In any case it was an interesting building with remarkable architecture.

Had to log this coin before taking it out. retrieved from this cache but it had not been logged here yet.
After sending Geokid to find with no luck, mum to the rescue! Maybe he should get his eyes checked.

Found at 14.45pm. Out and about with Merrypanda today. This one was an easy find. Nice old station. TFTC
Luckily there was no training today... Soccer off in the distance but very quiet at GZ. That was until I grabbed the cache... I took it back to the very convenient little shed to conduct business. While I was mid business, a car came cruising by at a "Very" casual pace. I ignored the occupants and carried on with what I needed to do and fortunately, they kept rolling... PHEW...
Tucked it back in it's hidy hole and got out of there pronto...
Cheers

Found at 1200. Another quick easy find with GPSr being spot on GZ and the clue was more than helpful. TFTC
Nice old station. Easy find with Ledgins. We have certainly learnt a lot about this area today. Thanks onward bound. Silky Seekers.
Entered into the book of LEDGIN'S. Out and about today with Silky Seekers. Had to wait for elderly Muggle to depart then grabbed cache, did the deeds and returned safely. Thanks again onward bound.
Doesn't get much easier than this. quick find with some friends in tow, swaps were made by kids, but I couldn't tell you what - ther was much activity at gz with kids wheeling and dealing...

A nice easy one to use up 15 minutes of spare time. GPS not required after reading the web page.

Had to sign log with Fluro marker in the cache. May visit again to leave pencil.

Why did I not see the cache last time I was here.
Because it was completely exposed this time. Back in palce and recovered with items which blend with the environment.
2nd of 4 finds for the day on our SEQ holiday. Found @ 1000 on our way back from visiting friends at Mt. Alford. High level of stealth required for this one as muggles can be watching on close by.

The old boy tending his veges in the nearbly backyard lost interest in me after I started taking photos of my little girl. Cache quicly in hand when his back was turned. Cache reurned when he bent over to pick up his rake.

Mumma and Dadda NANKS were 'flying solo' today after dropping the geoboys at the in-laws'. We were off for a social week-end at Boonah with work collegues. Of course we couldn't resist grabbing a couple of caches that popped up on the screen as we drove along!
Well according to the cache notes it all began on November 2nd, 1880. Well, we visited 128 years later to the very day, on November 2nd, 2008! We took some time to have a look around what appears to be very typical and traditional country show grounds.
Thanks for the opportunity!

The coordinates make this harder to find than it should be. A check may be in order but it is still an easy find. TFTC
had to stop in at Boonah showground on Sunday so slowdad and I decided to grab this cache while he had access to the gpsr's. My nephew likes to play with poppy's toys and he keeps changing the datum on it. Nice easy find and the first cache I've done of a night time. TNLN TFTC
At Boonah showground for the show this week and how can I resist a cache that's less then a hundred metre's- more or less- from where I'm working. Had to wait until after dark when members of the show society went home and we could walk up with having to stop and chat as more rides arrived to start setting up. The frogs gave the psychodaughter a start but we had the cache in hand quickly and got back with out being caught. TNLN TFTC
10.35am found with flapperjohn. Finding the cache was uneventful but trying to leave the area and get back to our car was interesting. I belive the groundsman thought we were stealing things and up to no good. He was not impressed. Put in an origami spinning top and took out colouring in pencils.
Nice location. Everything in town looked so neat and orderly. TNLN. Thanks onward bound
We participated in a group find with two other cachers, The Phantom and The Sparker. Altogether there were six families in the group including 13 geokids. We all arrived at GZ around 8.30am and together with the harmonics of the geokids, obviously raised some worry with the elderly lady living adjacent to GZ. Sunday mornings are obviously uneventful and reserved for quiet cups of tea whilst reading the paper. TFTC
Nice easy one. Geo Granny checked on us from her house windows. Found in the company of Rossx4 and "the Phantom"
A quick and caching-obvious location for the hide....thanks.
The street was quite today fortunately, and we were on our way in 5 minutes. Thanks for the cache and the history lesson of Bonnah, quite enjoyable.

Nice quick find. The cache is dry and in good condition. I really enjoyed the series. Thanks Outward Bound, we enjoyed our time in Boonah and will be back to enjoy the area and the caches.
aaaargh!,what a great piece of history 'ere!,walked around even though it was 30oc 'ere today!,thankin' ye'
Found this one fairly quickly. Was concerned the barking dogs in the neighboring house would give us away, however no one seemed to be watching despite the ruckus they were making.
A quick find while out on a bike ride. I had replaced the cache and was sitting down working out my next one when the park manager approached me and ask what I was up to. Told him I was a railway buff and was looking at the old railway station building. My bluff worked, and he proceeded to give me a run down on all the other buildings, town etc. A free tour as it were. Anyway, we had a great chat and the cache is still safe. SL TNLN TFTC
We found our 3rd Onward Bound cache at 1:40pm as the final of 3 on our Onward Bound to the Gold Coast Lunch Break. I have to admit that this is my least favourite type of cache hide where a private residence overlooks the cache search area and especially when a barking dog at a neighbouring property alerts all living nearby to your presence. We used the hint to minimise our time there. Thanks for the cache from D,H,H & A B-A.
Stopped at this one on the way to Mt Maroon. The heavens have finally opened and the drizzle was starting. I think the cache name was too long for our GPS as the other two near here didn't show up at all!
Ah! Boonah in the winter
On a sunny day, this is the warmest I've been for months
TFTC and railway history. A unique building, It's normally trains that leave the station. Not the other way round.

We reckon Onward Bound live in the street next to this .... having a good laugh at us all. But we didn't see anyone else out & about early this morning so maybe we snuck in & out without being seen. Left the "Sunshine On My Shoulder" CrowesFeat30 Geo coin for a bit of a view over this happening part of town.
Found today with lochb and Steve and Family watching over us..
Cache was quite exposed, therefore an easy enough find. Replaced and hidden from direct view.
This cache happens to be my 300th cache.... Nice feeling, now on to 400!

Our second of the Boonah series on our Saturday evening out. We had some trouble with the local at the window so had to leave and return in a more stealthy way. With the hint, we were able to find it without any trouble. Plenty of large green frogs in the vicinity of the cache.

We happened to be here on show day. Muggles everywhere - we'll simply have to come back to this great little town.

Must be a 1/1 I can never find them.
