Water levels are really high.Put in a new log but didn't have a baggie.Fashioned a makeshift bag out of a small tissue package.Next person bring a zip lock bag. Here with The Roos.Tftc
Thanks for the walk around the statues. Wonderful works of art. Out with The Roos
Thanks Tealby for this multi. We really enjoyed the carvings. This one took us two days as torrential rain interrupted our wander yesterday.
As a veteran himself Brad is always keen on ANZAC themed caches. Sadly the cache was full of smelly water. Emptied as best we could. Scratched a B&J in the sodden logbook. Replaced as found (minus most of the water!) Might need some TLC. TFTC Brad and Janet are on another epic trip. This time across South Australia to Broken Hill. Then through central and Northern NSW and up into Qld where we will be picking up a new hybrid house-on-wheels. Then we will head south down through more of NSW via Sydney to catch up with B2. Then further south until we get into Victoria from where we will head back into South Australia. Along the way we will grab caches of opportunity.
We came to Lake Entrance for a short trip, in preparation to do this sokudo series. We brought our bikes along which went not helpful, ditched the bikes and walked to collect the puzzles and multisIt was a freezing morning however there were still quite a few muggles about.Log was too wet to sign.TFTC
Lovely spots. And very glad I did this early in the piece or Id have covered a lot more territory! The planets aligned, the radar was clear and I had itchy feet. I left home base in the mountains to see the sea and seek a few caches and complete a few missions at Lakes - glad I ventured here! TFTC and the FUN.
TFTC prettiest view of the Esplanade and harbour. A great walk with lots of viewing points along the way. Thanks for the hint but was easy to find. Enjoyed exploring the carvings. Our first multi-cache.
Numbers were collected over a couple of days and in two directions. Of course that meant I mucked up and the math didn't work. PAF had me sorted and this morning off I went to repeat the walk along this track from the previous day. Should have started the multi earlier in the holiday! All good at GZ and enjoyed the sculptures, the walk and our stay at Lakes Entrance. Thanks for remembering the Anzacs Tealby
While staying in Lakes for a few days, we located several of the nearby caches. This was one that we enjoyed doing, walking along the foreshore gathering the information. Thanks for the fun Tealby
This cache was done today as piece meal!Every time we past the sculptures we did a bit and eventually we ran out of trads etc and we thought we had better get our finals. This cache is perhaps a bit more meaningful as it was ANAZC day only yesterday and it was foremost in our minds and around us.TFTC
Having collected what we needed, we made a nice quick find here before taking a stroll further along this spit. Thanks for placing the cache for all to find.
Respect! A quick end to this battle. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Tealby and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Now chasing caches around Canberra for the Easter 2024 Geobash, often signing as TAD which encompasses Tenkae, Astro and Deanside. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. Thanks for placing the cache Tealby contributing to this great game we play. Happy trails, deanside!
On a road trip to attend Capital Geobash Mega and see many different sights along the way. Today we had a big day walking and taking in some lovely areas. We had been admiring these crafty scupltures so it was nice to stop and take them in. At GZ it took longer than it should to find. The coords were off and we got the hint wrong (wrong end) when corrected a quick find. Thanks Tealby for creating for us all to enjoy. A FP added. ...................................................Are you ready to nominate in the **2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards**? Check out the 2023 geocaching lists [available here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/) to get a head start and find some of the great new caches. Nominations will open early 2024.
Staying at Tostaree Cottage farmstay campground just east of Nowa Nowa for two nights, we spent the day traveling southwards and sightseeing around Lakes Entrance. The afternoon was spent on a walk across the bridge and along the sandy track to the entrance itself, finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Tealby!
Hallelujah, I did it. Did some calculations from a certain point I knew I could get to and set off this morning with my muggle husband. Enjoyed the walk to where the cache was and the coordinates were spot on. I was determined to find this cache and thought I couldnt walk that far but I did. A favourite from he for the interesting walk to get the information and the interesting walk to get the cache.
TFTM but unfortunately Im not able to go and get the cache due to a hip problem. Im on crutches and cant walk in the area where the final is. I did walk the 700m with lots of sit downs and got all the information on the ANZACS. They are marvellous.
Still road tripping in the east and caching too with Jack and Purrfect Di. Australia Day, Invasion Day, Survival Day, Annoyed 'cos u can't buy an overseas made aussie flag day = Much Confusion Day ... whatever you're celebrating or not, it's still a day for caching! Just remember be nice to each other and respect the many varied views. Every day is Caching Day - so off we go!!! [:o)]Started the day raining in Lakes Entrance, ended sunny in Ferntree Gully Gathered half the numbers yesterday when stopped at a shop, grabbed the rest today and did some sums. A short walk soon took us to a familiar location and had us looking around a few minutes before coming up with a nice sized cache to sign. Lest we forget. Great carvings. Fav. Thank you Tealby for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! Viva Mexicana ! Thanks for the caches beyond the wall [:o)] PS:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... or is it backward... it takes an extra day to get to March 29.2.24 The Mega Leap Event of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And don't forget to put the SA June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... fun and funky finding with a little competition too
Hint really helped. Coords are bang on. Everything is good at GZ. TFTC TFTHSL * dronnord * ...\*""*.,,.*"",..,*"",..\

frmen1 and I had a lovely walk last night to gather the clues. Accurate co-ords made for a quick find. Busy place on a lovely Sunday morning. Left a few swag items. TFTC
Thanks for placing this cache. Enjoyed the walk, the statues and the history lesson.
Great cache, thanks a bunch. Those carvings are brilliant! Hope we see some seals
Something special or unusual goes here:After a cruise on the Lakes we went for a walk and found some wonderful wooden statues which took us across the foot bridge where we continued our walk. We soon arrived at our deciphered GZ and make a quick find. Really loved the sculptures and walk so FP from me. [:X]The Generic Bit:Both Bri and Sal are on the road for a holiday. [^] Holiday - Not a caching trip. This means if we are stopping for a rest, lunch, dinner or to see something whilst on holiday and there just happens to be a cache nearby then maybe Bri can go and try to find it. Maybe. Day 10: Today we explored Lakes Entrance. During the morning we went to various lookouts and tried to do a multi but got thwarted by development. Then it was a cruise on the Lakes and then went for walk. Unfortunately we had to cut the walk shot as we had dinner booked at a local eatery. We managed to stop and grab a few caches along the way. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks Tealby for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
15:03I caught the first train from Melbourne and a coach to Lakes Entrance to celebrate n0w0rries +Wife's anniversary. On the walk from the bus stop, I passed the excellent mural at the RSL, which reminded me to come back after the event and check out this multi.Which fitted into n0w0rries' plans, as he was venturing over the footbridge to complete the sudoku series... so when we parked, I hared off down the track, and, to my very pleasant surprise, found the cache really quickly, exactly where advertised. And bumped into my partner in crime in time to help him hint down his quarry. Thanks, Tealby.Lest We Forget.#7935
2 seconds into the search I found the cache but it wasnt it was the original ammo can. We disposed of it but we also found the new cache.Thx for the cache. Found it with Heymissjo, The Welder, Ge0_Ninja.

One of the mini welders found the cache while Ge0Bug found original ammo can (yes we have collected to dispose of) but a smily collected by all in our team The Welder, two mini Welders plus Ge0_Ninja. ----------------------------------------------------------Voting is also now open for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. Excited to be on a family holiday and caching with my family, my Mum heymissjo, plus The Welder, Ge0Bug, Dark minion and Dallas. Thanks for the cache
What do you do on an early Sunday Father's Day morning? Go geocaching of course. I always enjoy the early morning when the only people up are the essential workers, or the exercise nuts, none who ever bother me in bushes, or crawling under benches.
The sun still beat us up, but not by much, and not many other people up meant all geocaching searches were easy.
We had walked this trail yesterday but hadn't looked at this multicache yet. But having enjoyed the area yesterday, it was another lovely walk to find this geocache. Found pretty quickly in the obvious spot.
Thanks for the cache Tealby

LEST WE FORGET
Found with +Wife and EveTheStaffy.
We have been out to Gelantipy for a couple of days and decided that Lakes Entrance would be a nice place to visit on our way home.
We went to the Visitor Information Centre to enquire about pet friendly accommodation in the area.
They suggested Mackays Holiday Units in Marine Parade.
We had a lovely stay there, and EveTheStaffy enjoyed running around in the secure backyard.
The next stop was the RSL for dinner, so of course, we started this multi before heading inside.
This morning, the next set of waypoints were visited, and the final coordinates calculated.
A delightful walk to the final and a quick find using the supplied hint.
We didn't take the time to look for the original but we are coming back for our wedding anniversary next month.

Picked a slightly rainy Tuesday morning to do this walk and knock over a few multi and mystery caches along it. First find here after collecting the clues the other night walking to the lantern festival. Great history and beautiful sculptures. Thanks for bringing me here. Cache a quick one once in the right area.
First coords cache, didn't realise it was going to be a hike, but we found it and now have more confidence to do coords in future.
OMG our first ever multi and what an adventure!! Our pup absolutely loved wandering on the beach TFTC
On the way to Tasmania we went for a walk and after we got all the numbers, we found the final too.
Thank you for the tour
Thank you for the tour
We found the clues for this cache before Covid times on our last holiday to Lakes, but grumpy and tired toddlers meant reaching GZ wasn’t an option. Yesterday we happened to be in the vicinity of GZ without realising. Fortuitously I stopped to check the details for another multi we were working on realised that GZ for this was only 300m away. A quick walk and we had the cache in hand. We love the sculptures along the foreshore in town and enjoyed this multi! TFTC
TFTC! 27 December 2022 6:58:02 pm 4383
The hint didn’t help as much, used a previous catchers image as was found from the other end than expected.
Cache is rusty, full of water. Can’t sign at all
The cache itself needs replacing as the rusty edges may be sharp.
Cache outer is rusty and broken. Lid is rusted shut, and the side is rusted and crumbled. Full of water, and log book is wet and soggy. See previous image.
Note: As per recent logs, the original ammo can was recently discovered and is still near GZ (but not in a spot consistent with the hint). A replacement cache was placed many years ago and is still there. If you find the original cache I would really appreciate if you could remove and discard - you will probably need a disposable bag to carry it. My cache guardian has moved and I probably won’t be in the area again until the latter half of 2023.
We walked along the outstanding sculptures, very good cutting- and sawingwork. Although the reason for this artwork is not so nice, a lot of beautiful sculptures and marks of rememberence can be found in many countries, also in Europe, eg Belgium and France. A lot of geocaches in those countries relate to WOI.

Found it! Having collected the clues the other day, today we were out walking the trail to find a few caches and to visit the Entrance again. It’s such a nice walk. At the boardwalk I started looking at one end and Muggle Heather started looking at the other end and low and behold we both came up with a cache!! I think I may have found the original ammo can container which is now rusted closed and completely water logged. I left it under the boardwalk and went and signed the log book if the cache Muggle Heather had found. Thanks for the cache and informative walk around town.
We enjoyed both the sculptures and the stroll to GZ

Was great to look at all the sculptures for the clues on this one. An equally beautiful walk to GZ. A bleak and cold day in Lakes Entrance today, but that hasn't detracted from some awesome scenery and unique birdlife along the way.
Found with FUF009.
Back for this one. I did say we should check all the multis before coming over. Fortunately not too hard to find with the great hint.
Loved the wood work. A favourite. Tftc

Found while travelling with sharkiefan, on an extended long weekend.
Today we headed to Lakes Entrance for a short caching run and some sight seeing.
Main caches were the sudoku ones on the walk and then a few more around the town.
After getting the required info we had to laugh.... yep should have worked out multis b4 going over the bridge.
anyway, back over and a short walk later the cache was found (with help of hint)

With a long weekend on the cards we had the beach house booked and headed to Lakes Entrance and a lot of fun was had albeit too short a trip as always. The weather was absolutely perfect all long weekend as well. Doesn't get any better than that.
Clue gathering while exploring and a nice deserted GZ at the end and the detailed hint also really helped.
Thanks Tealby for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Our first find for the summer holidays. Geoson found the history interesting and worked out the coordinates himself. Left a travel bug that we’ve had for a few months due to Melbourne lockdowns. TFTC
Solved the coordinates for the final during a downpour yesterday. Fortunately, today was a sunny day and we could go for a pleasant walk.
Enjoyed visiting the statues despite the rain last night, then had a nice stroll in the sunlit morning to GZ. Thank you for the cache!
After lunch we collected the information needed from the carvings.
I had a quick walk to find the cache and the coordinates were spot on.

After sitting in our car eating fish & chips. We decided to do a quick multi. Great history here. Cheers
I gathered all the required information for this yesterday and after doing the required calculations came up with the hunting location. I had planned a trip to that area today so added it to my list, soon made the find TFTC
What a fabulous multi! Spent the weekend with family for Mother’s Day and decided to end the trip with a geocache or two. This one was lovely. Thank you!

Great to see the wooden sculptures pay homage to our ANZAC's. Found the coordinates and located the geocache on our walk Exactly where it should be. TFTC
Found it ! That was a fun cache. Firstly we checked out all the wood carvings. The info on this page is better than what we could find on the notice boards. When we found out we had the right coordinates we set off to find the cache. Sadly the cache is all wet so we left the lid off for a bit to dry out as much as we could. The log was wet so we left a fresh new one. TFTC
Checked out all the wood carvings then figured out where to go, but first some fish and chips for lunch ended up being about 4.30 when I walked to GZ pretty much muggle free here, thanks to liv&dave for adding a dry log book, found quickly signed and replaced...TFTC
Bunadoorian and I enjoyed the walk to gather the information from the carvings. We decided to try finding the cache after dinner when it was a bit cooler. Find 2 for today. Bunadoorian found this cache. Logbook was wet. TFTC Tealby
Grub62 and I were in the area or the long week end. We had waited until late afternoon when it was a bit cooler and the muggle activity had lessened. After a short search and using the help of the hint we found the cache. The cache was quite damp and needed a new logbook. The walk to find the co-ordinates and the art work was very pleasant and so was the walk to the cache itself. Thanks Tealby for showing us these locations and artworks and TFTC. NLNT.

An early start to the morning as the sun came up. This wss a multi I have looked at many times but as the WPs were 700mm apart I never got the clues. Yesterday I had a run and mentally collected what I needed. At home GZ was plotted and this morning off I went for a quick find.

We headed out to Lakes Entrance for a visit and we walked along the front to find the sculptures for this multi. We had no issue finding the information needed, but we decided to leave the cache for today. Leaving the family at a local cafe, I headed off to have a look. I had no issues finding the cache here, though opening it was a bit more tough! Lovely views from here. TFTC.
I really enjoyed this multi on a pleasant sunny evening. These carvings are very similar to some I'd seen in northern Tasmania a few years ago. A pleasant stroll across the bridge with dolphins making their way underneath, and a bit of exercise walking along the sandy track to the cache. An easy find too. CO please note that the log has disappeared. I signed the notice to muggle finders but it could really do with a new log. Still, a great cache! Thanks Tealby

Looks like our mathematical skills must have been left back at school. Didn’t think we were that bad! Maybe we wrote something different down wrong. Loved the ANZAC tributes though so thanks for bringing us here even though there was some major works going on around the eastern ones.
Got you.
Found the required info last week, to work out where GZ was located. Back in the Lakes today then contemplated whether we'd get it, or leave it. Made the trip and a smiley was the result for the effort. In hindsight, a fairly easy cache to get.

We took a morning cycle along the Esplanade to find the clues to solving this multi. After some fiddling with figures and trying hard to remember our high school maths we finally came up with a workable solution. . We could tell the area the final cache would (hopefully) be so as it was close to lunch we decided to head back to our caravan for lunch and afterward head out for another ride.
We the final cords in our GPS we rode over to a spot where we could securely leave our bikes and set off on foot to our final destination. Soon enough we arrived at GZ and after a brief search the cache revealed itself, we was in the process of replacing it when a lovely couple from the caravan park came into view from around the bend of the track. They were very interested in finding out more about geocaching so we spent sometime explaining and showing them the spoils of our effort. Looks like we might have a couple of eager new cachers soon.
We really loved this cache and the history behind the carvings, I have mentioned their origins to two lots of people and neither had realized this was how they had come about which is a shame. Thanks so much for sharing the story.
Thanks Tealby - so good to find one of your caches after such a long break.

In Lakes Entrance for a few days. Broke out the bikes to do a few this arvo. Found most of what was needed but managed to miss one. So back again and found the one we missed. The required info was found and a likely lot of numbers found. Then this time we took our bikes for a rugged ride, as we had already done this walk this morning. Once at GZ a quick find was made.
Thanks Tealby for placing the cache for us to find, while also highlighted some great works of art and history.
