Today was a road trip day to the west of Victoria and back to grab some caches for an LGA Challenge cache I am slowly working on. Headed out from home at 5:30 am so it was pretty chilly early on but after that it was great.
I was now on my way back home after a 700km+ drive but I was also grabbing a few puzzles for a puzzle challenge I am also working on.
Solved this a while ago and was going past today, Good Friday is a great day to search here with no one around.
Thanks Glogwog for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

What a shocking day today is. I solved this puzzle a little while ago and it was just a matter pf picking up this find. I was in the area grabbing a few things and decided on looking for this one for my find today. Puzzle didn't take too long and cache was found quickly. Replaced as found.

The log at this cache is really full and needs replacing. We didn't have anything with us today to do it.
Found this cache with TheRustyDuck and a very hot day. The log book is very full we squeezed our names on, but it needs to be replaced.
Had solved this one some time ago and came back today with yellowdaisy135 to complete it. Quick find but the log book is full. TFTC
Solved this puzzle before heading to Melbourne for a caching day , so picked it up on the way home.
Clever container with a very full log which we managed to sign up near the top.

We have had this little one solved for many a long day. With the correct cocktail of time, weather, location etc., etc., we were able to visit the GZ tonight.
Obviously there have been many visitors before us and the log is full to overflowing, in desperate need of some TLC please. We managed to just squeeze in our moniker!
Thanks to Clogwog for the hunt.

No room left for seekers to comply with the GS requirement to sign the log in order to claim the find!
Unfortunatly, because of the nature of the cache, we didn't have a suitable tempory log we could leave. This one needs URGENT attention from the CO please.

Had this worked out a while ago now but today was time to collect.
A nice easy find as it was laying on the ground so hopefully I've put it back where it's meant to be.

Back in June I spent a couple of days caching in and around Werribee and some more time still solving puzzles, including this one. It has taken until today however, for me to get back to pick up some of those puzzles and multis I solved back then - including this one.
I'd had coffee in town with the geomum and on our way past we finally stopped to grab this guy. It took a little searching, but I eventually found what I was after and squeezed my name on to the very full log book.
Thanks Clogwog !

Done the puzzle 3 times now, so thought we better grab it. Did it on the way home from work log is VERY full and found the container in 2 pieces have fixed it to the best of my ability TFTC
Find this in a bike around the fed trail. Must not of looked hard enough a while back. Enjoyed getting this! Tftc
Very fun puzzle! This is my first mystery cache. Worked it out yesterday and thought today was a great day to find it. Quite a lot of traffic but I don't think I was spotted. I found the cache pretty quickly because it was half exposed. Have never seen a cache container like this before and was very careful to follow the opening instructions. Found a tiny bit of room to sign my name and hid the cache again. TFTH!
Much needed find for our 120 challenge Geelong cache. Only a couple off completing, so had to extend out search further afield. Spotted this one and immediately solved. Today was our day to pick up our missing caches. Clever hide, quick find. Tftc.
Over in the west today to do some Oxfam training by competing in a Metrogaine in and around Werribee. I traveled over to get a few caches before the start at 10am then got a couple whilst participating in the 6 hour walk event and then got a couple more after the event on the way home. Just filling in the day with 9 caches, 26 km walking and 3 hours travelling, time for bed to rest those weary feet.
Last one for the day and finally on my way home. Solved the puzzle last night and retrieved today.
Thanks for the cache Clogwog

This puzzle had me stumped for a while as I was counting the number of letters and they weren't adding up to words ie 'three'. A quick hint from the owner and it all made sense! Quick solve and off to GZ when heading to Melb. Went to wrong spot, checked logs, realized put a digit wrong and off to a much closer GZ. Log to full to sign. Thanks for the challenge!

As soon as we saw this puzzle we had a strategy to try. After a few minutes we had some sensible coordinates. Today we went to look for the cache. This was also a quick find because the cache container was on the ground in open sight. The contents of the cache were in good condition. We then explored a little and found the holder for the cache container. Immediately we could see the reason for the problem - the cache holder had been installed upside down, allowing the cache to fall to the ground. We replaced the cache container in the holder (the right way up). Thanks Clogwog for an interesting puzzle and for the cache.
We were on our way through to Geelong and swung by a couple of solved puzzle caches along the way. This was a first cache of a very long and hot day. This puzzle was sitting in our 'Solved but havent found' pile so we were pleased to be going through the area to nab this one! We pulled up at GZ and not a sole in sight We didn't have to look for the cache as it was lying on the ground! The log is full but we still managed to put our name in there so that part was fine. Putting it back was an issue though. There was no magnet and we didn't know exactly where to put it back so hopeully we haven't caused too much 'Cache Creep'. We hid as best as we could and we hope it doesn't fall back to the ground! Needs Checking Thanks for the puzzle and cache 'Clogwoq!
This log is full had paper with me but didnt leave as no more paper would fit in the cache and didnt feel right taking out the old log.
Great cocktail loved working this one out. Once i got the first letter seemed pretty easy. tftc
We needed a puzzle cache to complete a puzzle we where doing so this fitted as an easy puzzle as we are not the best at them. We soon worked out a few letters and then the rest fell into place. A check on google maps confirmed a likely location. So with an early start in the morning we made our way to GZ and after a bit of a search made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Geohubby had fun doing the Alphabet Cocktail - fortunately he had he had come across one of these when at holidaying at Bundaburg and this did help! The co-ords were spot on and we were very surprised to find this rather different cache type that we had not come across before. Unfortunatley there was no log book present so we placed a temporary one there and signed it. No muggles about at this time of the morning.
TFTC Clogwog - enjoyed the challenge of doing this cache.

After failing to find this a couple of times previously, I made a triumphant return this afternoon in the rain with PuzzledJ's. We braved the mud to make a quick and successful find, returning the log (which had been left partially exposed) before heading back to shelter in the car. Thanks for placing!
It was wet, it was muddy, it was getting dark, but we found and logged.
Thanks for the puzzle and the interesting container.

The bike's been sitting in the back of the car since just before the weekend, while waiting for the weather and the schedule to be in my favour... today was an opportunity too good to pass up.
The caching day started well: roadworks preventing a grab at the one outstanding Oz Mega pointer, and muggles galore at a playground preventing the next. Finally, a cache I could actually search for.
This is another good little puzzle for solving while watching something mindless on the idiot box, which I did a week or so ago. Theoretically, I still have a licence for one of those things up there at GZ, though I'm probably rusty enough that I'd find myself fetched up in a similar situation.
The container needs a little TLC, with the log pretty much full, and getting a bit tattered. It was on the ground in plain sight when I arrived, so I replaced a couple of rusty parts with one I'd prepared earlier, using some tape I had on board. A few bits need to be bonded back together (probably the consequence of people not reading the written instructions on how to access the log). A clever little hide, all in all. Cheers.

In amongst all the puzzles an easier one for the bananas to solve.
Loved the hide, the treasure (which was handled with care) and loved the adventure here although it did take a large detour.

I'd had this puzzle solved about three months ago and had the coordinates saved in my phone ready to go, and then promptly forgot all about it. I guess I was planning a ride around Werribee back then, and got sidetracked somewhere else. So it was that today, in mid 30's heat, I decided to finally tackle some caches around this area.
Heading towards GZ I saw a very interesting and strange feature that it turned out I got to explore up close. I parked my bike in the shade of this feature and started hunting. The hunt was over almost immediately as the magnets dont seem to be working here and the cache was lying exposed. A very neat lil container nonetheless which I enjoyed finding. I found some space at the top to sign my name, and i'd say theres room for a couple more finders before this log is completely full.
Thanks Clogwog for the puzzle and the hide.. Now I just need to figure out what the hell it is I'm standing under!!

I did the calculations fairly quickly at home, then saved the coordinates for next time I was nearby. Today I was visiting someone at the hospital, so took the opportunity to grab this one. The hiding spot was an a good one and I was glad to be able to do a puzzle for a change!
30/12/12 12:16 PM Find #1720 I quite enjoyed the process of solving the puzzle here. I have to admit it had me confused as I've not seen one like this but with a nudge and a lesson in this type of crypto I soon had a solution appear. I wasn't fully alert when I jotted down the final GZ and instead I ended up at the posted co-ords which took me to a location without a cache but with a good size lizard basking in the sun. Faced with the monumental stuff up I made and annoyed at myself I remembered I could access my notes online via my iPhone and not long after I was off in the right direction and with the cache in hand. Thanks Clogwog.
HAd a few puzzle caches solved so headed down this way to collect them. It was a good decision as all containers were found. Went to the wrong spot at first but soon had my name on the log. It's been a long time since I entered these sorts of places.
Thanks for the enjoyable puzzle and the cache Cloqwoq

As I was heading out to do the Wyndham Lights cache tonight with some fellow caches, I looked around to see what caches might be had nearby. I spotted this one and after a few minutes work and eliminating some familiar possibilities I tried another more manual approach/technique and after a false start everything fell into place quite easily. As surprisingly the traffic wasn't too bad and I was a bit early for the planned rendezvous I did a quick detour via GZ to grab this one TFTC and a nice little puzzle!
When we come across one of these we prefer to solve the actual puzzle rather than use an "alternative" method so it's a relief to find a puzzle cache from time to time that we can actually solve. TFTC.

On another legendary cache run with best mate ahomburg thru the western regions starting in Werribee all the way to the You Yangs and back again. The weather was ideal today and we had hopes for high numbers, the run started at 7:30am and walk thru the door at home right on 8pm; a big day. However I will be back as there are more to find. Some good cache quality in this region as well as being in some impressive settings.
Another one of the puzzles that I had solved a few days earlier in preparation for the run today. Do enjoy these types of puzzles as it fun seeing the solution gradually fall out. A nice hide and the coordinates were spot on. TFTC Oenze & WA

Find # 2056
The regular weekend run with my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave was this week on a Sunday. We were headed out to the Werribee, Tarneit, the You Yangs and then back home via Little River. We left home at 7.30AM with the Diabolical series on our minds.
Another puzzle I really enjoyed, especially as I was able to solve it by myself, I am not a big puzzle solver but I liked this one. I was at work on Friday in my lunch break and managed to work it out. Once at GZ, we made quick work of this one, I loved the container and the object above it.
Thanks to Clogwog for the cache.

While cursing the Melbourne Caches Facebook page, I was reminded of the Jasmer Challenge and decided to head west and pick up a few old caches and some other caches that had been on the radar for awhile. The weather turned out to be perfect and instead of the rain coat I brought with me for the day, I should have brought my sunhat!! I had a long but tiring day.
I picked this cache up, (10 of 17 for the day) at 02:31pm. I had solved the puzzle yesterday, after I decided to head out this direction today. The pickup was straight forward and the container was different.

A nice puzzle to solve and an interesting location for the cache. The container was great but it's losing a bit of its connectiveness. TFTC
Fairly easy find but Muggles everywhere on a Sat morning. Sure we have been here for a different cache many years ago. TFTC
After spending the two previous days walking around Melbourne doing caches it was nice to get out of town and not to have to do so much walking. So visiting WA cachers richlink travelled in our direction and we headed off from the Werribee south caravan park to do some caching. Happily we found this one thanks clogwog - great cache container
Travelled by train to Werribee to spend the day caching with Liz and Bruce around the area. A puzzle that we had solved before leaving WA. Enjoyed the very novel container.
worked it out and picked it up off the ground tonight. think the wind might have pulled it off. moved it very slightly to somewhere that should not move in the wind. tftc
Headed out tonight for another great caching night with my caching buddies Blacklegend and Trailrunning. Trailrunning started his night a bit earlier so we decided to meet him in Bundoora before caching together. We had a great night caching and there were plenty of laughs and events that happened during the night that made it all the more memorable, including being bailed up by the local constabularly.
Trailrunning had parted our company as he had an early start the next morning, and so Marshy and I continued on our caching run. A nice little puzzle that I had solved before we headed out. Found the cache on the ground at GZ, so we signed the log and rehid the cache where it was supposed to be. Thanks Clogwog.

Another legendary night caching run around the Melbourne area tonight with my good mates Adrian (Trailrunning) and Marty (Quasar3671), now puzzle solving crew extraordinaire....hehehe..... A funny sort of night that involved a "Police, don't move" challenge while caching in another area. Quite an anxious moment, but we sorted it out.
Having parted company with Trailrunning, who had to head home for an early start, me and Marty had more unfinished business for the night. Interesting cache container at GZ, liked it. Puzzle also nice. Like encryption, but eventually solved by Marty for the caching run. TFTC.

Solved the puzzle at home before coming down. Easy find and nice design of the cache!
Noticed this was in the vicinity of where I was going to tonight (Seabrook) so solved the code and off I went. Found the cache on the ground so quickly signed with my new orange pen and put it back where I think it was supposed to be. Nice container. TFTC.

This was a fun puzzle to complete, and was my first attempt at anything cryptographic. I have been sitting on the solution for a while and today was the day to come out and take a look. There certainly was an unusual object at GZ to marvel at. Thanks oenze for the cache.
The Physics Teacher, jsmyong55 and I headed out west on a night caching run that started in Hawthorn about 4:45 pm and ended back there at 3:00 am. We got as far west as Werribee and picked up about 40+ caches along the way. With only a couple of DNF we were pleased with the results of the night, but unfortunately didn’t get TPT past the 300 mark. He will achieve that in the next few days I’m sure. Anyway this is one of the caches we found tonight. We jumped out of the car with enthusiasm, but this soon passed as the find was not instantaneous. I got down low and soon had the cache in hand. Nicely constructed. Thanks oenze.
Out on our usual caching run with Trailrunning on Monday nights and today we were joined by The Physics Teacher to continue where we left off the last time at Altona. We headed west all the way to the edge of Weribbee caches and turned back and did the many caches back along the way to the city. We then headed to the city to get those done as Trailrunning and The Physics Teacher had not had those done yet but I have. On the way back, we tried to get a few more for The Physics Teacher to reach his 300 mark but we did not manage to. We brought him very close to his mark though.
This was one of our caches found. Puzzle was solved earlier and we were here to pick up the cache. Took us awhile to search and find the cache but we finally did. Cool sight to see a forklift up on the column. TFTC

Visiting from Auckland. Solved the nice puzzle at home but when I reached gz not only was it raining but a muggle was sitting in a car right where I wanted to be and a council/building(?) crew of muggles was swarming gz. Half an hour later and I had the place to myself. Really glad I came back. Loved the hide. TFTC

Could someone please double check this for us.

Solved the puzzle last night, and dropped by on my way to Geelong today. Enjoyed the structure at GZ, creative use of the item there. Took me a few minutes to track down the cache, then I had to go back to the car to get a pen! Cheers.
9.35 Out and about in the cold with my sister today. By the time I had realized where it was we had parked and needed to walk 40 metres. Pretty obvious where it was but we proceeded to look at the harder option. Getting very frustrated with ourselves I trackled it from a differnet angle and there is was in plain sight. Good little hard. Quickly signed and moved on.
Thanks for bringing us to a new location.

I decided to show The Custos a puzzle cache and after solving with the Custo's Geokids in bed, the two of us decided to head out and grab it, since it was quite close. A nice puzzle, nice container and nice hide. Cheers!
Caching with garnercx, code pretty straight forward and location easy as I go past that location many times.
Accompanied with Crank1, On the way to Geelong for the day. SL. Thanks oenze & WA (wheelchair access)
Everlasting and myself tried to work out with it but a friend helped us to explain in few days ago.. So we are ready to go there. Found it TFTC.
A nice easy puzzle that I could solve quite quickly. Went to the indicated structure and very quickly found the cache as one end of it was poking out and obviously visible. Loved the cache container - very novel!
As others have said, the log page is full. Found a spot near the top of the page (so way out of order) to sign. Added a small piece of paper as a temporary log until it is replaced.

Took a printout to work and sat down between jobs to do working out.
Done quickly and then called in on the way home and bagged this one.
It really does need a new log..

My GeoDaughter (9 years old) enjoyed solving the code for GZ. Took awhile to find cache as the GPSr fix was 10m away. Logbook full and therefore unable to sign. TFTC
Been looking at this one for a while now - thanks Oenze and Wheelchair Access.
It took a while to find the cache, but we keep at it until we got it. Log book sheet is full. TFTH...SL...TNLN
Found this cache as part of a 2-day blitz in Melbourne. This was one of my last caches for the day.
Thanks

When I first started geocaching 5 months ago after putting in my home co-ordinates this came up within a couple of km. I looked at it and went, what the and feared to go back. After completing a couple of the puzzle caches I sat down last night and worked it out in about 15min!!!! mmmmm. Stopped at GZ on the way to the city. TFTC
