Decided to check out this cache as we were close by.
Didn't have a suitable container to replace it.
Clipped a new log in a plastic bag to the container.
This should keep it alive until you get a chance to replace the container.
A clever hide.
Thanks for the cache, The Goons.

Sneaky hide but vey sad and neglected. Part of the container missing and the log damp and unusable. Tried to sign but not vey successful. Urgently needs fixing TFTC The Goons
Managed to make our mark on the log sheet but as with previous logs the container really needs some love. SL TFTC
On a wet saturday afternoon, on the way home from a very unsuccessfully caching day at Hervey Bay, where, every time we stopped for a cache, it teamed down, as soon as we had driven off it stopped raining.
Back in Maryborough, one could tell that it hadn't been raining that much, and as this was one of two caches that I haven't found. Time to reduce that to one.
The cache is in terrible condition, as per the previous logs, the CO needs to do some urgent maintenance on this one.
There is NO bottom to the container, and the log is beyond help. [:(!]
Maybe it's time to archieve it, if the CO isn't prepared to maintain it.

Quick find thankfully . Doesn't smell really nice here at all. There is no bottom on the log container so it will definitely need to be maintained.
Clever Hide ... VERY clever!
SOOO SMELLY here though - Mini Me hid in the car gagging for the first 5 minutes! LOL
He was the one to eventually work out where it was though!
Needs maintenance desperately - bottom missing and log in tatters

Unfortunately, the bottom is missing from this cache - and log book has seen better days - time for this baby to be fixed and refreshed.

nearly about to give up hope, beady eyes found it! Very smart place, very smart. couldn't put up with the smell i say
2nd find today. Nice in the shade of the trees. Good fine. Cach lid still not screwing on. TFTC
Circle for a bit. Nice hide, very clever. Agree which previous maintence report. Didn't write in the log took a photo as proof. TFTC.
The log is pretty tight in this cache and gets more and more tattered every time someone tries to extract it.
Also the srcew thread on lid and cache body don't tighten fully which could allow water ingress.
I suggest the CO has a look and considers what action to take.
TFTC
Possibly Plumbers tape on the screw thread might fix that problem, and a new Log

1250hrs. A quick stop on our way home from holidays. Took longer to find than it should have. Good hide. TFTCSL
Found on our Qld adventure trip, while roaming around Maryborough with geo-amba.
I was confused at first but then zoned in on GZ and made a quick find.
Cheers from the Riverina, NSW. TFTC,

15/08/2012 00:00 This was a pure fluke to be found right on midnight, in fact I hoped it would be just before to increase the numbers for yesterday. Initially searhed in a traditional place and then paid more attention to the GPS and was soon rewarded with a cache. Signed the book and replaced but noticed that there was a large eight legged critter in the hide. Luck I didn't need to put my hand down anywhere near him to get it out! The metal on the container is starting to corrode and the container thread is a bit worn. TFTC the Goons TNLN SL

A quick easy find but I wish I hadn't trimmed my finger nails this morning. Extracting the log was a challenge.

Good hint for this one. Nice area and the 'smell' was not too bad today. Found the little critter, nice hide!TFTC SL
I can't believe I was actually muggled out at this one. This slow daunting family with a pram were ambling along the road. I went past them and park down near stinksville. They seemed uneasy about me being there so they did a uturn and ambled down the other way. Could they possibly go any slower [?]
The evetnually were gone and allowed me to search for the cache in peace. I found it after a small hunt. I have posted up the co-ords that worked for me today. TFTC The Goons

Pew stinky! Found this one with not a muggle in sight unless you count the horses [;D]

Nice easy find. Thread on cache is starting to go might want to keep an eye in it. TFTC.
Stealth required for us when finding this .... nearby semi-trailer drivers looking on suspiciously! Also, you may want to bring a face mask or bandanna to cover your nose!
Third find on our trip to Maryboorough, Log was ruined so we left a new waterproof log. TFTC
Our last find since we arrived Maryborough this afternoon...a few muggles walking with their dogs...Ms Bushies2 found it easily, clever hide. Thanks The Goons.
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Had a good look for this one...even found a post which I thought might be a good "first aid" post but not there....will be keeping an eye on this one...
Found at 1015. Thought about the name of the cache and after reading the previous logs decided that it might lead to a certain object and i was right. Quick find. Log sheet needs replacing as it is damp and full. TFTC
This took us a while to find, but after some thought about the clue and sitting back and observing we finally came up with the find! TFTC
It feels rather strange to 'log' this find A clever hide, especially with the additional camo growing around it. The lid on the cache is quite loos and may need to be replaced. All in all, a great place, and it is great that people provide interesting places to look at when out hunting. Thankfully no smell today, so was lucky on that regard, but had a laugh at the tip chook (Ibis) that was getting a free ridse on the sprinkler over the road.

Wow...holy crap...what a smell[xx(] We were very thankfull this was a quick find thanks to Geo dad Very clever well hidden cache. We found that the lid was not fitting very well at all, so we put it on the best we could. SL TFTC
2nd visit it in two days. Bingo! Great spot really enjoyed finding this one after the first fail. Quite obvious after it was found really.
Clever little hide. retrieved the cache, signed log and returned it to it's hiding place. TFTC The Goons
The cap on the container does not fit very well. Looks like it has been cross threaded at some stage. Might need replacing soon. TNLNSL.
gagged as soon as i got out of the car! found in 5 min. the cache lid thread is stripped and may need replacing.
Found quickly on a terribly hot day. Nice breeze here though, and very peaceful. Pity about the smelly place across the road . Cache needs replacing as the thread is stripped and you can’t tighten it to keep rainwater out. Rainwater … who the hell am I trying to kid?
This one took a bit to find. We were walking here and walking there trying to find this one whilst breathing in the savoury smells of the nearby water works! What a great cache hide. Very nifty and neat indeed. Thanks for the hunt .. eatmorchikin & Stigglepot, Brisbane
Found: A friendly horse came over to us for a visit. We fed it the green grass on our side of the fence and it was happy.
12th find of the caching run, and 2197th total find at 14:05.
A nice quick find.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks for the cache.

found after a bit of searching... also i think the screw lid may not last too much longer.
thanks for the clever hide.
thanks for the clever hide.
Cache contents are damp, but not wet. The thread on the container is getting tired and is only just hanging in there. Great hide, unfortunately the wind was not kind today. TFTC
It was raining again when we pulled up to look for this one.
The GeoWife drew the short staw, and made the mad dash to grab the cache. (She is better at finding the tricky ones anyway )
No swaps - thanks for the cache

found it quickly, Mrs F thought the air was a bit thick, but I must not be as sensitive to these things. TFTC
Nice quick find at 0900hrs with holster and thehairbear. Glad it didn't take too long as this part of town stinks!
AND yes, it wasn't a nano!! (Guess that disease hasn't reached that part of town yet)

Looked for this one when I started caching and had no luck, came back today with a friend and found it rather easily. We were then congratulated on our find by a trio of nice horses.
Found at 0935. Sneaky hide, thought we might need first aid for the stench in the air!
Found this for a second time (first time didn't have a pen)
I thought my mother in law stunk when she let one rip! STINKY!!!!

Found nice and easy with the help of a few locals nibbling on the grass nearby TFTC.
A very well set up cache. I stopped to 'enjoy the view', not really sure what I was looking at (airport and horses), but the activity provided the cover for retreiving the cache, signing the log and then getting back into Maryborough again.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache,
best wishes,

Approaching GZ I was reminded of when I first started looking for caches a few years ago. A world of hand-typing coordinates into the GPS and scribbling clues and notes on bits of paper
Invariably mistakes crept in and I found myself in locations just like this one. Middle of nowhere just beyond the sewerage farm fence, by the side of a road leading nowhere and in the distance across the horse paddocks a few aircraft parked on the local airport
But in these paperless caching days I knew that the coordinates were correct [:o]
But the feeling that I had gone wrong somewhere remained.
Like Carey Grant in Nor by Norwest standing in the corn fields I felt an unease as the sound of an aircraft in the distance made my hairs stand on end [:o]
But after a few minutes, I spotted the 'little red flag on the roadside mailbox' and there was the cache
Thanks for the rural madness [^]

Couldn't visit Maryborough and not do a Goon Cache. Quite near the GeoGrandad's house so a good walk with the GeoKids and Geo Rellies. We actually had a slight technical "hitch" with the cache and had to return to fix the problem. All OK now.
TFTC Goons!!

Found it. A bunch of young muggles we just down the road on bikes and were curious as to what the geomissus and I were doing !! Loved the hiding place - very innovative! We were just about to give up but decided to take a quick look from the "other side" and there it was.
Who would believe that at 6am on a sunday morning there would be a muggle out by the sewerage treatment plant. He was tending to his horses & I am sure he thought I was up to no good as I looked around. Fortunately cache was hidden in such a way that I was able to retrieve while looking like I was admiring the view. Great hide. TFTC

Eleventh find of my trip to Hervey Bay, Bribie, and the Gold Coast. Found at 1020 hrs.
Nice easy find, that is unaffected by the recent rainfall.
Thank god for the "Civic directory" that was on display by the road, near the airport. With that, we detirmined the general area we were heading for, as well as a possible street name. Then simply add this info to the Navman, and off we went. We would have struggled to find the way in without this info.
Cheers

I don't think the stench was from something dead - looked like a water recycling plant next door, and smell seemed to come from there.
Nice cache, thanks!
Nice cache, thanks!
On the way from a special mission to "Postcode creek" back to Hervey Bay, this one appeared on the GPS so Chris and I took the short detour.
There was a terrible stench in the area (probably something dead) but the cache was quickly found (The car was only 5 metres away).

This is a fantastic hide, most probably because of its location.
