Today we travelled from Barcaldine to Longreach. There were a number of caches that we found along the way, This was one of them.Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find of a well hidden cache - a cache hide style we have seen numerous times in the last couple of weeks. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks to wirzwei for the cache.
Well after two failed attempt, this time on my way home had another go and discovered I've been looking in the wrong place. Easy find now I can turn the grumpy into a smily. Thanks for the cache
Found while on a bucket list trip with mates Grumpi68 - short walk through town for this one and another adventure lab TFTC
1 terrain lol definitely not anymore. 1.5 definitely. Avoided muggles but hard.Interesting town and stop on the way through. Signed The RoosTftc
What a great place to explore with all this interesting machinery. Had to check a few places but cache was happy and good ll tucked away. thanks for the fun!
A quick find once I stuck my head under. Thanks for the hide - and great display
Found this cache with Crank1, Deafcat, DeafPhantom, DeafVW, and Everlasting (Deaf PVCCEP) during QOGM 2023. Thanks for placing this cache and providing us with a great time!
The hint helped! Some interesting things here. Spent some time exploring the area and finding caches along the way! Thanks for placing.
A good spot to have a rest with plenty of things to look at, especially mechanical plant, guns and bottles. Not sure of the connection here but it sounds like a bad combination. There were plenty of muggles walking around but no one took any notice of a few caches looking around the back of a building. Again this might be an usual past time for the locals. Old cache found after looking at a few likely spots after I stuck my head under the building. Thanks wirzwei for keeping this oldie active.
Found with silverfox1970 and firebatman88 and cocotheexplorer. Found during our trip from Winton to Morven. TFTC.
Thanks for the pencil. I had left mine in the car. According to the sat pic it's closer to the road. Found it anyway. TFTC
(Ilfracombe local)was sup rises to find out that there was actually a catch in ilfracombe but after 3 attempts at coming here looking for it I Finally found it great spot and fun to Finally find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache wirzwei. Didn't take long, having a look around town.RVCL.
Staying in blackall for a few weeks visiting family we decided to make a trip to longreach and collect various caches up the highway, through Barcaldine and then on to Longreach. Tftc. Favourite because we wouldn't have stopped and seen the aesthetic bottle collection without it.
Great cache! My husbands first 1! We had fun finding this, although its definitely a bit more difficult than stated. Needs to be seen from the GPS coordinates, but is actually situated further to the centre of the building. Hands and knees job, both finding and seeking!
This was my last chance to find this cache this trip. I did while doing the Adventure Lab series as well. The coordinates took me to the wrong side of the building and the terrain rating and size deceived me further. No way is this a T1 because someone in a wheelchair could possibly reach in to find this cache unassisted. Try at least a T2! Its a hand and knees job! Also putting your hand down and under and out of sight. Luckily I was able to resort to a very helpful PAF and there werent any Muggles around late afternoon on a hot day. Also the container is much smaller than mentioned on the cache page.
Found on a trip through western New South Wales and central Queensland to attend the QOGM at Longreach, then a return drive back to Adelaide via Brisbane, the north coast of NSW, central NSW and the Riverlands. Thanks for the cache wirzwei!
A helping hand today with a previous finder made for a quick find, even with muggles about.Tftc
We're out on the fantasy muster trail for QOGM 2023 with HansandLinda today. We're signing the logs as ThemandUs as we make our way toward Ilfracombe. HansandLinda have already found this one so this stop is just for us.Thanks for find #5021TNLN
On my first visit I got muggles out but on the second had the area to myself said a short relaxed search quickly had cache signed and back. Tftc
Drew out what should have been a quick find because I didn't want to get dirty(dirtier). My husband is enjoying the old stuff but I might just sit here and log my caches from today!
Find # 9076In Longreach for QOGM2023! Finally made it So much planning and work goes into organising this fabulous event and it is definitely worthwhile coming to the central west for the incredible caching adventure. On the trails to Isisford and Ilfracombe with some of the usual suspects and it never ceases to amaze me the generosity of the caching community. A huge thanks for all the fun and shenanigans along the way. Great adventures were had in spite of the challenges, not all geocaching ones either, and we all enjoyed a good tale or two. This was a quick and easy find and here at Have a rest GZ today. Signed as CC5: GLISS!, Cosmonaut97, SilverFox1970, FireBatman88, albida33, Fitzy_1965, HappyFeet, and Nibletricecakes. Thanks so much for the many caches wirzwei and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
Found It!An interesting (and quite extensive) display of old things here. Davidwazza found the cache in a place I thought I'd already looked in.TFTC
Day 19. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip. Its muster day! Time to see what this thing is all about. I teamed up with posums and The_Tritonz to form The Mexicans. A day of laughter with good friends while grabbing some caches and exploring Muttaburra.A quick visit mid ad lab to grab this one. Thanks wirzwei for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? JACS and I had hatched a plan a while back to book leave for a road trip out west and to attend the last QOGM.. battery issues after the children were out playing in the dead of the night but we are away in mini muster day! Another fab day for the MisFits! .
Driven through Ilfracombe many times since 1966 and first time to see thus display up close. Thanks.
Took some hunting and a lot of lazing around. But we got there!! On the way to QOGM with GLISS! A great place to pause for a break before we land in Longreach. Great to get this cache. Thanks for the cache and maintaining it!
This one took a little longer than it should have. Found with Nibletricecakes on the way to QOGM23. TFTC.
After another excellent nosh up at the nearby Wellshot, we dropped into the council chambers to pick up some gear for QOGM 2023. Once finished our passenger La Kedi walked over and started the search. A little longer search than we expected but the container was located anyway. TFTC
This took quite a long time to find, both because my GPS wanted me a few metres away, and because I was expecting a larger container. After searching far too many of the type of thing on which I eventually discovered the cache, I looked at some images, which confirmed I was doing the right kind of thing, and gave me an idea of where it was. This was one of the last ones I could possibly have searched, and sure enough, there it was! Jimmyproject did the honours of reaching in for it as I was a bit too scared. Interesting machinery mile to inspect if youre interested in that sort of thing they certainly have lots of examples. Found while visiting Longreach Shire during QOGM 2023. TFTC, wirzwei. =^.^=
After doing the Muster by the Stars series, we finished off the day with a few caches on the main road and this was one of them. Met up with a fellow geocacher to make the find. TFTC wirzwei
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and Im taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling.Go up early to find a caches few in town and also to attend the Stonehenge event. After visiting Stonehenge and coming home through Isisford Im now Ilfracombe.Time to find a few here before heading back to Longreach.I have driven past this display area numerous times and today was the day to stop and have a look. This one was a tricky one to find but after teaming up with dickbev we found the sneaky cache. Thanks wirzwei TFTC.
After a delightful evening at the Wellshot with Chamad, JACS Team and Gcoven, Alyce and I decided to tackle this oldie. With a torch in hand we wandered over towards GZ and had a quick poke around in numerous locations where the hint directed us, however, after failing to find anything we decided to have a more thorough search and eventually found the cache where we expected to find it.Thanks for bringing us here.#3859 - TFTC
We had a great time during our stay at Longreach for QOGM event week. We were fortunate to have found and signed up an amazing group of Deaf PVCCEP members, including DeafPhantom, DeafVW, DeafCat, crank1, Everlasting and pwala.

Something special or unusual goes here:Found it. The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 11: Today we moved from Jericho up to Barcaldine for the lunchtime event, then down the road to the Camden Park Event and finally we arrived in Longreach caching along the way (as usual). It might have taken 11 days to get here but we had a great time, found many, many Adventure Labs and a variety of numerous other types of caches. The Muffs even 'won' a FTF at the lunchtime event. That will take some getting used to! With our new home away from for the next week it was time to start some serious caching.**SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks wirzwei for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

We are on our way to Longreach for the QOGM event this week. As we missed all the previous events, it is now time to grab some of the caches in the area. Another big day doing some of the caches around the Barcaldine and Ilfracombe area, while attending some events with TeamJLBL.
Stopped off here and found after a short search.
Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

Found by Mary and David at 14:26. What a line-up of old machinery. Would need more time to check it all out. Our thanks to wirzwei.

Mid-afternoon and not too many muggles about. Grub62 spotted the cache with a bit of effort. A nice find as it was well hidden. TFTC.
Luckily there was only a couple of people looking at the interesting pieces of machinery near by. I was able to see the cache while looking from a different angle( would have looked a sight if the muggles walked past at that point). I was able to put my hands on the cache fairly quickly then. TFTC and for bringing us here wirzwei

What an awesome display. Outnabout for some solo caching while camping in town overnight. We’re taking the roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Had to wait for muggle tourists to leave, then searched where map indicated, but eventually found the cache a couple of mtrs away. Definitely worth exploring the museums here, a wealth of history! Staying at the Wellshot Hotel for the night, good food, cheap camping, and award winning service!
Checked out all the machinery along the road . Then, head of to see if this older cache was still in play. After a bit of a surch around there, it was. Replaced cache to its hide.. Thanks wirzwei for bringing us here.
We are having a brief stop in Ilfracombe on our Outback Spirit trip and have time to look for this cache. The search probably took longer than it should have but we eventually found the cache. Thanks to wirzwei for the cache.
Travelling from Longreach back to Mackay, stopped by to admire and explore the awesome looking Machinery Mile. Obviously have to find the cache too! Have never seen anything like this mile of history, absolutely recommend everyone stop here and have a look, even if its just to stretch your legs!
Quick find on the cache, SUPER low, had to see it from a different spot before I could grab it. TFTC! Now back on the road again... ️️ Found with Globetrotters7701 and a favourite point from me for the location! ️

Departed Melbourne the other day and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel. Leaving Barcaldine this morning and heading north east again hoping to find somewhere for the night just past Winton. I'll be heading out first thing in the morning through Longreach and Winton
What an amazing little town, definitely need to bring MuggleWifeDoes back here.
