Over the years we have passed this site but not close enough with sufficient time to take advantage and grab this cache.Well today is the start of our 4 day long non football grand final caching week end!So its the perfect opportunity to get these out of the way caches on our way to Echuca where we are basing ourselves for the 4 days. This is our fist stop of the day and trip and it did not disappoint us. Its been a delightful detour driving through green pastures, crops, vineyards and waterways. The ruins are certainly worth a look in too.TFTC
A quick little offset multi, i didnt have time or daylight to explore the site further but it looked intriguing. My old tree fishing rig was not really very functional and i cant fit it in my new-to-me vehicle, so i have been trying to work out a new rig. All my ideas are again too long to fit in the vehicle so i decided to get roof racks, a pair came up online in Kyabram, what an excellent excuse for a day out caching. "We're gonna need flour. Lots and lots of flour." is find number 4,034 for me. A fun regular sized multi-cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Greater Shepparton City. I am logging this one on Friday 13 Sept 2024 at 10:04 am and the weather is Overcast Clouds 10C 61% 6 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy cdmark.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Fabulous location for a flour mill, except its now Canola that is being grown. The yellow flowers were magnificent in the sun. Thanks for highlighting this historic mill and house
Nice piece of history.. would have loved to have explored the place. Tag found.. took a walk to GZ... replacement container has a hole in it, and the previous log has been eaten.. replaced with stone strip log.. hopefully, it will last till the next finder.... 11 months between finders, though it might not..
Never knew this area existed! What a terrific historical site! Would love to visit and see it up close. Cache was safe and easily found. Log was hard to get as it was stuck to the bottom of the container. Nonetheless, TFTC!!
Found this beautiful location today. Thank you for the multi have a place to logbook due to being very wet and container as well.
I took a detour here after visiting the Goulburn Weir. Never would've come here if not for this multi! The older kids loved it - exploring the old abandoned buildings and freaking themselves out! The gate was open so I drove in but turns out you don't need to enter the property to find the metal plate. . . Cache was found a short drive away in excellent condition. Thanks so much for bringing us here.
What a plesant surprise to see so many beautiful old buildings out here. The buildings are stunning and sad to see them not being used. Thank you for placing a multi cache to highlighting this beautiful mill and educate about its history.
With Lockdown #5 mostly lifted, we said farewell to Echuca, and jumped into A'Tuin the Geomobile with our geodogs and set a course for Walkerville. We wanted to pick up a few caches on the way. Arriving in Murchison around lunchtime, we stopped at the bakery and had a walk around and let the geodogs stretch their legs. If we hadn't had such a long drive ahead of us, we would have spent more time in Murchison, it has been added to our list of places to come back to and explore. While heading closer to Walkerville we chose to find this cache as the name tickled our sense of humour. Thank you for this cache chmark.
What a surprise to see so many significant buildings in this out of the way spot. The buildings are stunning and compared to the photo on the cache page, the building at the gate has been beautifully restored. Thanks cdmark for highlighting this beautiful mill.
I have had this multi on my list for way too long, and l had intended to undertake it the last time we were staying in Rushy looking for the yellow stuff (AU). Well l am glad I finally got out to do it as seeing the beautiful buildings was a sight to behold. What a shame you are not able to walk around the grounds to see how things were done back in the day. At least the buildings and property are being looked after. It would be a shame to see such a grand site lost forever. Thank you cdmark for providing and maintaining the cache which was found in good condition.
The old buildings were very impressive from afar, we would really enjoy a tour up close and personal. A very easy multi but one that brought us to an interesting historical location.
We did note the gatehouse looked in pristine condition so the restoration has certainly a happening thing here.
Cheers cdmark for highlighting the Day's Flour Mill with a cache.

That was an interesting one for us. Lovely to come out to see the old ruins of the flour Mill. Didn’t even know they existed. Got a bit jumbled up with the right points for waypoint two. Eventually sorted ourselves out. Massive Bee nest right above the GZ. Not good for somebody with anaphylaxis to bees. Logbook signed. All in good condition. Thanks for the hide.

Not normally a fan of multis as I usually do something to get them wrong. However yours was one that presented no trouble at all. A magnificent building which unfortunately could only be admired from the road today. Cache soon found, signed and returned, now off to Shepparton while it's still raining.
Thx cdmark ft multi here.

After checking out a replacement for the Geowagon in Shep I decided to take a few back roads home and see what I could find.
Parked out the front and it looks like a great place to have a walk around on one of its open days.
Interesting to read that it is mainly intact inside.
Checked out WP1and eventually found what was required and made my way down to GZ.
Made a quick find and continued along my way.
Thanks cdmark TFTC.

I tried to find this cache a few years back but it was a sad face for me that time. This time a smiley face. My third visit to this place in less than a month. It is a wonderful place to take people when touring around the area.
Thank you for bringing me here. I want to come back the nest time that it is open. I must keep an eye on the Shepparton Council's website so I know when.

I needed just one cache for the day and this one is just about my closest to home so.....Road Trip!!!
My GPS had me all over the shop and wouldnt settle to within 5meters of anywhere before I found the info I needed to transpose to the newer GZ.
It was a shame to miss out on the original ammo can but still quite pleasing to put my name in the book of this nice one step multi. [^]

What an impressive estate this once was! It is regrettable that the public cannot get any closer to the main buildings and it doesn't appear like any work is going on there. Just the gate keeper's house has a new roof.
At GZ we were performing our duties when a local in a ute drove past slowly, clearly suspicious of our behaviour. He did not stop to accost us, but his thoughts about us strangers standing in the landscape could at best be described as 'confused'. Hope he understands that we are not horse thieves.

Staying in the area and out grabbing just a few finds, while exploring the area.Today I was just poking around some of the back roads in the area.
Thanks cdmark for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Scenic drive and a nice stroll for Craig and geo-pup and geo-kid. Found by Ben. Proud as punch. TFTC
What a great place that you would never see unless you chase local history or, of course, through geocaching. We just loved this one. Simple but meaningful. SL TFTC
Unable to get any flour today but got the cache instead which was better. Nice drive for a quiet & cooler Sunday. Interesting history close to home. TFTC
This multi was very close to our accommodation so we had to grab it. Parked near the Mill and then went for a nice stroll to find the cache, watched by the cows.
I had a great time reading the cache page here. I soon found the tag at GZ, and then knew which set of Coords to search for the cache. I made a quick find at GZ. Thanks for placing this multi for me to enjoy cdmark
A nice simple multi to help clock up the multi numbers. A beaut little spot too.
Thanks for the cache cdmark. Found on 10 Mar 2018 at 7:58 pm. Find #5912.

Found and logged. Love the old red brick buildings, they are so beautiful and a wonderful part of our history. TFTC
Out on another adventurous family road trip to Mexico, now with geosis along for the ride.
Silly me finds the tag then misleads the others into going to the wrong WP for GZ. We got it sorted and found the cache. Sounds like this cache is better visited in day light.

Moneydork, Tounga and sushilord came to Shepparton for a weekend and as a result, I found one cache tonight while the 2 guys found a few more than me
We probably should have stayed in our accommodation and rested (like Tounga did[^]) as I was ill [xx(] and they were both tired[)] from a long drive but oh how good it was to be out caching with some friends from home
On a beautiful night, it was great to finally get off the main road and into here to see this mill complex [^] and find this cache as I've seen it on my GPSr for far too long now , each time I go up and down the main road
What an interesting sight this was and it's great to see history being retained [^]
sushilord finally found what we needed and then some numbers were worked out and the cache was looked for... and looked for.....and looked for[?]
Eventually we realised that there was a teensy tiny error (did I say never trust a man ) and with the correct coords for GZ, the cache was found very quickly after I enjoyed a short walk to GZ [^]

Its not that often that muggle hubby's work gets me right to the geocache ! Today i had the opportunity to visit here as a passenger and after checking maps decided that yes this was the one for today! Quickly had the co ords and set off to GZ. . Signed as returned cache. All goid at GZ.thanks for the cache placement. . Hope this mill now starts to get the $$$ spent on it.. today is a start in that direction. .
Back in 2007 the CO drily questions the amount of restoration work that appeared to have been undertaken after Historic Building Council and Parks Vic took over ownership/management. Well fast-forwarding to 2017 and I can also drily note that that evidently "didly squat" restoration effort has been undertaken so I guess it's too far for the myopic vision of the Spring Street mandarins to see! (So many expense claims and study tours, so little money! The burdens of our public service.)
Another déjà vu moment for Mrs B and I as we had been here previously back in 2014 but the original cache had been wrecked so we had to log it as Not Found. More success today.

At last found this one, it's just a shame that nothing has been done to restore this lovely building but how often have we found this to be the case.

What a delightful spot this is. Thanks for bringing us here. Another place we've got to come back to some time. Took a while to find the tag but we did in the end. Good sized cache in a lovely location.
A day for some maintenance on our Whroo series of caches and a few cache finds along the long road home.
I've looked at this cache listing a number of times but have not been close enough, or on the right side of the water to have a search. Today we organised our drive to get us to the Goulburn Weir then along to the flour mill where we made a quick find of the first waypoint the cache soon after.
Thank you, cdmark, for this cache.
#3917. Log signed at 1313Hrs.
(I often signed the log book as "W+W" to save paper/time/ink)

Love some history with a geocache hunt. Pity the old buildings are not being used for anything. Great hide ( if you are a snake!!). Cache in great condition. Thanks for the fun.
This multi seems to slip under our radar every time we are in this area - but today after reading the very interesting cache notes once more, we detoured onto Day Road to see for ourselves. Beautiful red brick buildings looking robust and quite fancy even if in need of repair. Pity we can't see all those milling processes in action, maybe someone will resurrect it all as a tourist attraction one day. SL at 3.05pm Left: poppy pin. Out and about with beatiebrooks. #4208 TFTC cdmark - fascinating historical stuff.
Interesting location.. out with Harrowang on a day warm enough to raise anyone's dough.. Took some photos.. Thanks for the cache..
This is an amazing complex that should be available to the public on a regular basis. I would love to have been able to explore here and learn more about milling and the lifestyle of those involved. The most difficult part of this multi was actually reading the numbers on the tag. From there to an easy find. A fav point here for highlighting this historical area TFTC cdmark
Our trip to Nagambie for camping with a few cache stopovers, of course. Cache #5, quite a informative little multi. Very careful about the bee hive though. TFTC
We arrived at the first waypoint for this cache and loved the look of the buildings here, but unfortunately, the site can only be accessed by ring Parks Victoria in Shepparton and making an appointment. Photos taken it's time to get back to the cache. The tag took longer to find than it should have, but we did find it, input the numbers into the magic box, and we're off to gz. A quick and easy find, signed the log, and we are off to chase the next one. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Found with Geonps for our Kids Matter program at school. Second multi-cache we've found now and some great history for these 4 kids. TFTC!!
In Nagambie for the Australian and Oceania Canoe Polo Championships with some spare time to have a look around and grab some caches. Interesting area. TFTC
Thanks for the cache! It was very windy out there today but I managed to find the cache without being blown away
More multis today to go towards My March Madness Multi-Month Challenge. Now I'm on holidays for Easter and filling up the remainder of the month with Multi's, got my quota but what the heck, a few more won't hurt. In the Nagambie area camping on majors Creek.
Came here last year to do this but found nothingness in place of the cache but no problems at all today, cache in good condition. It would be nice to see this old building restored to it natural beauty one day, looks pretty good as it is though.

I have been meaning to do this one for quite some time now but was not in the vicinity, that is until today. Muggle Hubby took me on a nice little trip to Tatura, Rushworth, Whroo, Reedy Lake, and to this cache, thanks so much cdmark for an unusually simple one from you!
On a bright and sunny morning, following the rains, I splashed the geomobile along a familiar road, to a familiar place
With the correct coords buried in the GPS for a second time, I was not going to let any amount of flour put a damper on me search
I did enjoy a well cooked damper a couple of nights ago
Yum !!
Need more flour !!
Put it on the shopping list
At GZ there was some activity over in the nearby paddock, but I was at GZ and I could be in and out with a cache find before any curious muggles could approach
TFTC ... Dough !! ..

What a well-concealed cache in a beautiful area on a perfect spring day. TFTC. Dropped off TB. Hope it can move on from here safely.
Lovely drive. Never been to these parts before & I live near by. Found with SJones on 15/6/14 TS & LS. TFTC
Found today with gleesonstribe. Swapped a skeleton for a toy motor bike. Nice easy find
It's been over 3 years since this cache was found, so I thought I'd do something about it. Drove 600km round-trip from Geelong to do this cache.
After checking out the historic mill (gate was unfortunately closed), I proceeded to WP1. I was soon on my way to GZ, or so I thought. I couldn't find the container...
Thinking I was going to have to log a DNF, I re-read the cache notes, realized my mistake, and soon proceeded to the correct GZ. It was a very clean logbook - felt like a FTF!
Thanks for replacing this, cdmark. I enjoyed the "journey" !

We managed to find the first wp but then came up with nothing but a hole. We should have took notice of the previous logs, would have been a good one if only.......
Had a wonderful drive to this non cache. Got some photos. Due to previous logs, we didn't bother to look. It's not always about funding the cache. Thanks for luring us out this way. Angus the Great GeoWestie assisted by Carer (grey nomad) Lis Brown and GeoMaher.
I took the detour out to the flour mill for a lookee see
Funny that it just sits out here, slowly decaying.
The good news for this cache chase is that the first waypoint is still there
Nothing found at GZ though !
No burnt stumps, cleared areas or a cache.
Thanks for the bit 'o' history cdmark [^]

Didn't read the logs prior to heading for this cache, would have spared me a detour. But the old mill was a compensation. Cache box must have been removed.
What a great piece of our history being left to fall down. We found the first WP ( very clever) but alas we agree with the other caches that GZ has been demolished. Could you please check it as we would like to add this one as a place of importance
Found WP1 and coordinates of GZ but sadly no cache. The area is very clean and tidy and I wonder if it has been removed as part of a cleanup of the area. My GPS gave GZ as a burnt out tree stump !!
Found wp1 and set off for gz. We couldnt see anywhere to hide an ammo box, After a while we thought we'd searched a big enough radius and gave up
Hasn't been found for a long time, might need maintenance?

Attempted this one but unable to locate ammo box. May have given up too soon, as had not read previous logs to discover that maintainence had occured after the fire. Will have another look in the future.
On the way home from the SPC factory in Shep. Took a bit of trouble cos we didn't read the instructions properly, but got there in the end!
3:38PM
Was in Nagambie this weekend visiting my sister-in-law's Parents. Went for a Drive up to Sheparton to Visit the SPC Factory. On the way back, we decided to take a different route via Murchison and find some caches while we were at it.
Some Interesting Information about the area, and after reading the name of the cache I just had to make sure I visited this one.
Was Tricked for a short time at WP1 but eventually found the co-ords of GZ and drove further on to make the find. We had many eyes upon us while making this find but luckily the mouthes of these eyes do not speak and will not reveal the secret
Founs it with Team Kwokka.
Thanks to cdmark for the cache. TNLN.

This cache and many of the other local caches are located near the Goulburn and Broken rivers. These rivers are currently in flood (again). We feel that it is not appropriate, or safe, to encourage access to these areas. Our caching family is in discussion at present whether or not we will archive our caches that have been effected by the floods as it is not possible to predict when these caches will be able to come back online and it is becoming monotonous justifying our actions for not making them available.
We have not had floods like this since 1993. This was before consumer GPS equipment and before geocaching.

Found at night on the way to Melbourne. WP1 located quickly, then drove on to WP2. Well, well. What a mess at WP2. The stump that was hiding the ammo can was burnt and destroyed. The ammo can itself, although burnt was intact. So, the ammo can was fireproof, the contents unfortunately were not.
I have recovered the can and can return it to you if you like, but it is pretty rusted and a bit warped....... Cheers, BL17.

Had us looking all over.
Finally found the first one,
then the second was quite easy.

There seems to be some cleaning up going on around the area and the clue at WP1 has disappeared. Have replaced but moved a few metres along fence line. Clue also updated.
Also dropped GC Travel Gnome Geocoin in cache. Good to go.

Ive had a look at this one in the past and again last week with no luck so after contacting the owner he was kind enough to help me out and finally found it.There were people near by picking tomatoes. Thanks for bringing me to this place.TNLN.
This one eludes us! Ran out of time and it was getting dark. We will be back another day to try again!

I must confess, I didn't find WP1. I didn't want to cross the fence, and so I looked at the clue, but still no luck. So I though, if I couldn't hide an ammo can in the ground, where would I put it?
Interesting collection of buildings, will be good to see them open again.
Thanks, Robmc.

Magnificent old buildings - I'd like to have a closer look when the restorations are complete. I used the clue at wpt1, for fear of disturbing the nearby structure. Even with the clue, the hide is quite cunning! I got quite a fright at the final cache location - I stuck my head into what looked like a cache hiding spot, only to find myself face to face with a rabbit! It was just as stunned as I was - with me swearing, and it bolting! I did manage to find the cache after all that. A pity it turned out the rabbit hadn’t been sitting on it, because that would have made a better story! Took TB Einor the Elephant & TB Globey, LN. SL at 4:40pm. Thanks once again cdmark for the cache. Regards, 38degsouth.
