That was a bit of a mission!! I recommend wearing long pants for this one as the soft looking shrubbery is actually really prickly!! What a gorgeous spot, found on our trip to Cape York with Hally 4!TFTC
On our way from Albany to the cape, kiwinic and myself are grabbing a few smilies along the way. This was one amazing view and climb up! I really didnt put any thought into the trip up the hill, just went for it straight up! A fave point from me. TFTC
On a 2 week family trip going through the simpson desert from south eastern victoria and grabbing some caches on the way . Out plans changed due to the rains so we needed to flip our route and start our desert crossing from dalhousie Springs and finish at birdsville. Now at birdsville we are stuck here due to our exit plan being closed so we are heading north to Boulia and going to long way around to home in Melbourne.Grabbing caches along the way.Anyway back to the cache.Great litle walk to the top and great view. Took less than 30 mins return.TFTC
When planning my trip up the central qld i spotted this cache and had added it to my find list. I didn't really know what to expect when i got here but seeing the country side as we drove east had me a bit worried. The family stayed with the car while I made the hike up. The spinifex grass was prickly, the rock scree was slippery and the jump up cliff face was tricky and required a few dead ends before making my way up a gully. But at the top totally worth the effort with great views and a well deserved smiley face.Totally worth a favorite point. Thanks for bringing me up here.
Made good time up and back. Spent a little time wandering when up top looking for the best spot for a photo! TFTC.
Arriving across the road and parking the car, the Brissy TEA party considered what was in front of us, the previous logs then debated if we have the time to explore. As the cache is old and has a great DT, it was decided the climb would be a great way to stretch the legs and walk off some the of 67 beers consumed this trip (to date).Found a likely way up a ridge to the edge of the cliff face. From there followed a crack in the rock face all the way to the top where the old log was found and signed. We didn't create any record up and back but easily returned with time to spare inside one hour. Thanks way-finder for keeping this oldie active and out of a nursing home.
I really needed this after a few days in a car! We paced up to the top taking very little time. The path down was slightly slower. TFTC!
After QOGM decided to head north and complete some challengers to honour karicka. Travelling with RoddyC, snickersallan, grannysmith1947.Our first cache of the day Well we did not expect what we found. Where to start? I guess we just headed up there. Spinifex grass, sliding rocks, dead unreliable trees and did I say spinifex. We took the three point approach on the way day.Took up a good hour.TFTCache way-finder
QOGM is over and travelling behind the rest of the QOGM Placement team for a journey further away from home. Thanks for giving me another reason to come back to this area even though I have bypassed this spot a lot of times over the years. TFTC way-finder. Favourite point from me.
TFTC smile 16834 out and about on a lovely day signed and replaced a oldie for a oldie what a walk which way to go so much spinifex and sharp if mumabear and the cubs made this walk I would have no trouble at 75 years have a FP Thank you way-finder for placing this cache for our enjoyment
On completion of QOGM, we headed out to the Outback Way on a road trip to Mount Isa going via Boulia with an overnight there. The landscape here was amazing, with beautiful colours in the brittle rocks that we came across as we made our way along and up to GZ.Found quickly with hatzofff, RoddyC, and grannysmith1947.Thank you, way-finder, for placing and maintaining this old one, and btw, the cache is in good condition
QOGM is over, so now is the opportunity to take a few days bresk and head to Mount Isa via Boulia with hatzofff, Grannysmith1947 and Snickersallan.Wow. Snickersallan was up like a wombat through that scrub. Beat us all to is, so we didn't have to make the final climb. Great to have this one for the D/T and age.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 3:15 PM on September 24, 2023. TFTC, way-finder
Well, this is one cache we didnt expect to grab at all and here we are. We were going to grab an Earthcache closer to town, however, JACS Team convinced us to head a little further to grab this one. Thats a lot of driving for ONE cache so lets hope its worth it.After a longer than expected drive our target was in sight, its up there correct, indeed it is, so off we went. JACS team had already found it and Alyce is pregnant so they both stayed at the car while Chamad, Gcoven and I made the climb. Unfortunately majority of the way up we encountered Spinifex which is an absolute PRICK if it snags you, which it did and its bloody painful too! So watch out!We finally reached the top and yep, more Spinifex, probably more than on the way up but after a nervous stroll we arrived at GZ and spotted the hide straight away. We signed the log, admired the stunning view than cautiously made our way back down to solid ground. FUN!Thanks for bringing us here.#3973 - TFTC
Today our team drove around town and collected a few more of the local caches before we went for a drive out to Winton. This then saw us take a drive to the next closest cache 88kms away, as you do. It was another fun day with a couple of traditionals, an adventure lab, an earth cache, an event and some others, lol.It was very much a long day of driving and covering over 650 ks for the day, but hey thats caching. Got to see some of the warm up activities at the Winton outback festival, thats going to get messy. We signed logs and replaced caches where found, thanks to the COs for the placements and keeping them going. We had finished in Winton and then saw this one a distance away, urged on by the previous finder off we went. This was a great cache to find, a nice quick little walk up the hill and through the spinifex grass. The views were just fantastic and it was 360 degree views too. This one gets a favourite point from me.
Decided to drive out to this one. I fell and landed hand into a spinifex so that was a shock. Fabulous views and dud a bit if fossicking
What a fun little climb! Only joking! that was really, really steep! M drove me as close as he could to GZ and then I got out the hiking poles and started up the climb. It was easy enough to locate the container once I was at GZ but then I had to remember which way I'd come up. And boy was I glad of those hiking poles on the way back down the side of the jump-up!This completes our 5th D/T loop! Thanks for find #4824TNLN
On our holiday trip, we will be stopping in many different towns before making our way to Longreach for QOGM 2023. We will be taking in the sights and sounds of each town, exploring the local culture, and trying out the regional cuisine. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting journey!
Here's one to find today. Thank you for placing the cache way-finder.

If anyone finds a pair of reading glasses - ours are on the hill somewhere
They’re only fakies but worked fine for us
Don’t worry about returning them, it’d be a laugh if you did manage to spot them

While we are roaming around Queensland, we like to try and signe the older caches. Drove out from Winton to tick this one of our list. Parked off the road and took a look at the hill. We have come this far,so up the hill I went . Yep, I found it. Took time out to check the view out. Which was spectacular. Then headed back to the car.
WoW - we made it to the top!!
Now our challenge is to get down safely
We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most Northern land point.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here in the Outback all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we head to Cape York.

On our last day in Winton, we decided to take a trip out along this road.
The drive itself was very beautiful, with so many birds along the way. We sort emus, birds of prey and literally thousands of bright green budgies.
Arriving close to GZ, we parked the car and looked for the best way to get ourselves to the Hide.
Making our way cautiously through the spinifex grass, we then began the ascent up a more rocky pathway.
In the end, our route was somewhat circuitous until we found a good way to get to the top and then it was on Highground until we found the cache.
A cautious trip back down after signing the log, and very happy to have been able to make a find here.
Thanks way-finder

Heading out to Boulia and this was the first stop of the day. Made the climb and now have an appreciation for what gators are for. The teen gave up halfway and waited for me soaking in the views from his perch.
Cache located with ease, one tree on from my GZ. Signed the logbook and moved another rock to stop a slippy slide down from the slope. Took longer to get down than the up as extra care was needed.

What a climb! Was having so much fun! Thank you so much for that logging with DeafCat, Deafphantom and DutchAus

I needed this D/T rating to fill a hole in my grid and was delighted to find out we were heading this way today. The climb was not as bad as I thought it would be, proving that slow and steady does get you there. We both wore long pants and shirts and I wore gardening gloves which was a good move. Great view from the top and proving that being 64 has not slowed me down too much. Great experience all round. The cache was bang on the coordinates and found the first place I looked.
After dinner and a beer at Middleton, we arrived here around 8pm. We donned the headlamps and took off up the hill being careful to dodge the spinifex. Once up the top, the container was quickly located and we even managed to find our way back down without too much trouble. Thanks for the cache
Last find for the day, walked up using torches.
The night sky was good but there was a bit of cloud around.
A roadtrain roarded past below as we stood up top.
Thank you for hiding this geocache way-finder

Last find and a night time adventure. Thanks for the cache. I don’t like spinifex!

This one was a ton of fun to find although we looked in a spot 5metres to the left of the cache for ages before eventually finding it. THANKS for the great hide.
Brad&Janet are heading to Coolum Beach to get the house-on-wheels serviced at the mother factory.
But which way to go?
The decision has been via Burra, Maree, Mungeranie, Birdsville and Boolia so far.
Having traversed the Birdsville Track without incident Brad broke the h-o-w in the Birdsville Caravan Park. D’oh!
Repair plan A resulted in a broken drill bit.
But surprisingly plan B worked!
You would think that in 9 years at University someone would have taught Brad what a roll pin was and how it works. Nope.
Brad blames the inadequate syllabi of the Medical and Business schools.
Today it was time to choose again. So off to Winton it was, grabbing finds along the way.
When we stopped to look at the hill for this one Janet volunteered to mind the vehicles while Brad climbed in the 36 degree heat.
Brad hates spinifex.
No snakes seen today. This probably means Brad is not good at spotting them.
On the way up about from the unavoidable spinifex he chose wisely. And eventually he was at the level he felt he needed to be - the top.
Cache found in second spot checked. We’ll take that.
Lots of familiar names in the logbook. So we added ours.
And a careful descent to a waiting Janet.

With Fangsoki and Crew153 in the mighty Canyonero, we hit the outback in search of the oldest and finest Queensland has to offer. 6000+ kms in 8 days - an epic journey. Day two and we are here in E142° territory. Late in a long day this looked a tad daunting. The incline is a little sharp, and the grassy tussocks are also a lot sharp - nasty buggers actually.
I read the earlier post that said 3 minutes bottom to top ... challenge accepted. Off I trotted ignoring the odd slip and the many grassy pokes. Bottom to top in 2:47 - however 'top' does not mean cache, and I'm somewhat puffing now. Plus I left my buddies behind. So once I trotted over to ensure cache was actually there, I trotted back to encourage my fellows and get my breath back. And enjoy the views - they really are spectacular around here.
In due course we all arrived at cache location and signed it. No issues getting back down, but a lot slower going in order to remain upright. What a fantastic location.
Thanks way-finder for entertaining me at this location.

When Fangsoki and Pprime (P') mentioned about a road trip to get the old caches in outback Queensland I jumped at the chance to see some of our great country. The 8 day tour covered some 6,000km and a day on a boat in the Whitsundays. I wouldn't have missed the adventure for the world.
It was getting late in the afternoon when we pulled up for this one. Although it is not as old as some of the other caches that we were targeting it did interest us. Prime headed off up the slope while Fangsoki and I picked our way through the spiky grass and loose rocks. Neither of us are 100% fit so we struggled with the slope. Encouragement from Prime above us spurred us on and eventually we made it to the plateau and headed along the "flat" area to the cache. The views of the setting sun from the top were spectacular.
The route we chose to go back down was no easier on our bodies and we struggled to keep our footing on the rocks, knowing that if we fell we would be impaled by the spikes of the grass. We finally made it to the car as the sun set. We probably had another 15 minutes of daylight left.
It is a pity that the Outback Way-finder Trail has not been widely advertised and the caches have not all been retained.

My interest in this cache was peaked because it was in the E142 longitutde. But it also lookedd like a cool little diversion from our trip from Winton to Middleton.
Crew 153, Pprime, and I pulled up at GZ. Hmmmmm. Crew 153 and I were not excited by the incline. But we wanted to get the cache as well.
How kind of satan.... to just leave his heathen spikey grasses spinkled all over the area. Crew 153 was the first to come a cropper. I was going pretty well because my boots had plenty of grip. As per usualy, Pprime was heading up in no time.
I noted some paths on the way up and started to follow those. I was actually pretty happy with the route I took.. and to my surpise, I bounded to the top.
Such great views to be had here. I took some snaps while we waited for Crew 153 to find his way up. We made our way toward GZ and soon found the cache safe and sound. We signed the log and dropped in the trackable.
The trip down wasn't as bad as I expected. I ended up following a goat track down and was making good time. Crew 153 opted to follow me. I got a bit too cocky at one stage and ended up fair on my derriere. My hand hurt the most. Thankfully, the camera and the phone were in side pockets.
A fantastic cache to do. I am very glad we stopped for it. TFTC way-finder

Good parking big space to turn a 5th wheeler even also would make a reasonable camp spot this as you going west come around vest and bend sign says Dunbar. Suggest where gloves for the climb as rocks so sharp that would slice hand open if lost footing on very loose screed slope. Nice little hideaway at near the top. No flies when left car but on return sun came out surprised it could shin thru the miriad of flys that came with it.
definitely a four star - very loose rocks and - oh my goodness this is my first encounter with spinifex! But it was great reaching the top and finding such a nice big box. So easy to keep caches dry in this area compared to the rainforests where I live! Tftc. First of a long list to get on the way to Perth!
A very late afternoon climb up the hill to admire the view as the sun was getting close to the horizon, and to find a cache! Thanks way-finder for the cache.
After a wallaby climb we found the cache. Be careful coming down and definitely DON'T wear thongs. TFTC
Heading to Winton today picking up a few caches on the way. Bit of a climb up to this one but a quick find when I got there. TFTC
Definitely not a good one to be wearing thongs as muggle partner found out. Definitely helps to be a rock wallaby. Great cache.
Of course I know the difference between a black kite,
and a wedge tailed eagle !! [:o]
What sort of silly question is that ??
OK !!
I parked the geomobile in a handy spot and headed on up the hill.
Climbing up was rather easy
And at the top I was rewarded with magnificent views,
and a cache find [^]

After attending the Red Centre Experience event and spending a little time exploring some iconic locations in the Northern Territory, it was time to make a more or less express trip back home. Fortunately there were sufficient well placed caches at opportune spots to safely park and stretch our legs on our way home [^].
Now that we have had a small taste of what there is to offer in central and north-west Queensland, we will need to look at organising another trip sometime when we can spend more time to explore the area. We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the logbook, we continued on our long journey.
Thank you way-finder for having placed the cache for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

6256 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1550. Pulled up by the roadside and looked left. Shouldn't have done that. Followed the Wallaby tracks through the spinifex towards the first drop off. Found a gully with plenty of hand and foot holds and made the top very near gz. SL Tnx way-finder. A favourite from us and now to work out how to get back to the truck.
We are still travelling towards the Red Centre Experience mega Event at Alice Springs and picking up caches along the way, of course. This was a more challenging cache to find. First there was the difficult climb for us and then actually finding this cache. Finally finding the cache was a very happy moment and all was done before carefully descending back to the geo vehicle. Whichever wallaby wanted to get revenge sure did. Thanks to way-finder for placing this challenging cacge.
Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
After leaving Winton we had decided to camp overnight here with our caravan, but once on the road we learnt there was rain coming and roadworks only 10kms past this cache. So we unhitched the caravan at the rest stop then drove to as near as possible.
Mr Felix then made the trek up on the western side. It took him only 3 minutes to crest the hill then another few minutes to traverse to GZ. Photos taken, cache located and a replacement sistema placed with all the old items.
Now to get down. Well it took only about 3 minutes down too so all in all up/down photos etc on the western side no more than 20minutes all up! Speedy!
Then we returned to the caravan and travelled through the roadworks to Middleton. Good call as we heard that 3 cattle trucks got stuck in the roadworks that night after the rain!

Parked and looked and contemplated whether to squib out or not I said too hot ? Mrs.K said "we can do it " so I packed the backpack and took off heading straight up the side. Treck to the top wasn't as bad as I thought , a further 80 meter walk bought us to the GZ, MMM maybe it's there? And then after Mrs.K headed over there I spied it.
Signed logsheet 11/09/2016 12:00 pm, I did take a SPC fruit container to replace the cache but Sadly the Logbook didn't fit through the neck so I placed all back in the original Sistema container and placed that in a clear plastic bag and replaced all where found. The cache Sistema box does need replacing as it is well cracked.

Driving from Boulia to Winton, with a few stops for caches on the way, this one on our radar. Have been out this way previously five years ago pre caching days, so this time having even more fun. Can't get over how green it all is.
Passing by, looking for a suitable spot for coffee and cache, but with the geovan attached, it was too hard. Did not attempt, stopped instead about 2k up the road for a coffee

We were hoping to attempt this cache but it was 7.45pm and way too dark for an attempt today. A revisit on another occasion.
Excited to see we were the first to grasp the log book this year. #37 for our honeymoon and with water in the river to the east was a nice view. The box will prob need replacing in another year. TFTC
Out and about with some muggles and they assisted me in the climb to GZ and an easy find. Fantastic panoramic views, well worth the walk.

Found it after lots of looking. A moderate climb but slippery without the right shoes. Hubby fell and cut his hand. We climbed up from the west side due to construction on the east side. Nice views!! Phil & Kristi from Brissie!!
Actually a Did Not Log. We climbed up the hill but after both sliding and falling we gave it a miss. Unfortunately as we were keen to get all outback way caches done on our trip but we considered this one a too dangerous.
Find number 1 for the day, and find number 68 on the ninth day of our month long trip to Warwick, Lightning Ridge, Boulia, Plenty Highway, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Darwin, and home. Found at 0920hrs.
We enjoyed the views from GZ, easy find, although a bit of a tough climb.
Cheers

Again, sent our co-traveller up on our behalf. He assures us the view was good from here, too! Thank you.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 20 of our annual 'Climatic Refugee' trip, and made another very quick and easy GAFF 1 find once I made my way to the top of the range. The views from up top are outstanding, thanks way-finder.[^]
My find No 2393, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped Moloch the Thorny Devil TB (ref = TB2RT99), G'day Mate TB (ref = TB26XE6), Daisy the Cow TB (ref = TB11Z9C) and my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

I was prepared for a heavy climb and a hard one to find. But compared to geocaches in my place (switzerland) im must say the terrain rating is a bit too high (should be ***1/2)... And the box was found quick as well , maybe that difficult rated because far far away?
This cache was a great pleasure to get!! A beautiful spot and its worth to carry lunch up there!
Thanx a lot for tis great cache!

Best name ever for a cache, although wallabies do have an advantage over us on rocks and the like. Despite a cut leg and millions of flies lapping up the blood, the find was well worth it.

Hi Cachers,
The location of Wallabies Revenge cache has been adjusted slightly - hopefully to avoid the intensity of direct outback sunlight. Thanks to Avagomob.

Great views once again and a good climb. Container needs replacing. TFTC TNLN
First this year to find. Container a bit frail now Way-finder and didn't have another suitable to replace with - sorry. GPS batteries went flat after the scramble but a bit of detective work brought success. Heading to Alice Springs so hope to find a couple more.
After o'nighting in Winton ... and headed out to commence my mini-assult on the Outback Way-finder Trail
I had planned to come out and do the Queensland leg of the trail back in February ... but the coastal floods, and a personal drama, put an end to that plan ... so I had eagerly been watching hoping to score a number of outback FTFs for months ... only to get out here and see that I had been beaten by a couple of days ... bugger. - and I suspected that it would be the case along the whole route I had planned.
been out through here a number of times whilst working with QPWS, but rarely stopped to have a good look at some of the sights ... and there are many other interesting spots that could quite easily be includded in the trail.
anyway back to the cache ...
the scramble wasn't as bad as it looked and we managed to get up the hill and locate the cache with no dramas. Nice view in the cool morning, as the light brought the colours out of the surrounding hills and valleys.
